Mbappe scored from the penalty spot on 49 minutes after his shot was handled by Nicklas Sule. PSG doubled their lead when Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi combined well with midfielder Vitinha and doubled the home side's lead. It ensured a win for manager Luis Enrique in his first Champions League game in charge of the French champions.

PSG's star forward tried to carry on after an early challenge with Leonardo Balerdi but went off before half-time. Mbappe could be a doubt when the French champions play Newcastle away in the Champions League on 4TH October. PSG cruised past Marseille after goals by Achraf Hakimi, Randal Kolo Muani and two from Goncalo Ramos. It lifted them into third spot in Ligue 1, two points behind early season leaders Brest. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/0D6A/production/_131243430_mbappe.png

WEDNESDAY 4th OCT 2023 - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - GROUP F - Newcastle United v PSG
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/AEA8/production/_131321744_trips.jpg Kieran Trippier (left) faces Kylian Mbappe during a friendly between England and France in 2017Kieran Trippier is hoping to keep Kylian Mbappe quiet when Paris St-Germain face Newcastle on Wednesday - even if it upsets his young son. PSG visit St James' Park in the Champions League group stage but Trippier's son Jacob is only interested in the France forward. "He's obsessed with him, always watching his clips on YouTube," said 33-year-old Trippier. The defender joked his son wanted to walk out with Mbappe instead of him. "I wasn't really happy with that," Trippier added. I said to him, 'If you get to walk out with Mbappe, you don't look at me in the tunnel'." ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/3978/production/_131321741_mbappe.jpgMbappe limped off during PSG's Ligue 1 win over Marseille on 24 September, but returned to the side as they were held to a goalless draw by strugglers Clermont on Saturday. Trippier has fond memories of facing 24-year-old Mbappe, who has won five Ligue 1 titles and lifted the World Cup in 2018 with France. "I played against him - I think it might have been his debut game for Monaco - when I was at Tottenham, and I played against him for England on my debut. It's quite a few years ago," said Trippier. "This is football. These are the games you want as a player, playing in the Champions League, playing against the best players, the best teams. Paris have got unbelievable players in the team. "Of course we need to recognise that Mbappe is one of the best players in the world, but they've got quality all over the pitch and we can't be too fixed on them.

WEDNESDAY 25th OCTOBER 2023 - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - GROUP F
Paris Saint Germain 3 (Mbappe 32) AC Milan 0
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/AD19/production/_131531344_gettyimages-1756580171.jpg Kylian Mbappe has scored 13 goals in 13 games for Paris St-Germain and France this seasonKylian Mbappe was on target as Paris St-Germain went top of Group F with a clinical win over AC Milan in the Champions League. The hosts are now two points above Borussia Dortmund, who beat Newcastle 1-0 on Wednesday, in second. Mbappe opened the scoring against Milan in the 32nd minute with a driven shot into the bottom corner. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/5EF9/production/_131531342_gettyimages-1745423273.jpgAnd second-half goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in secured all three points for the French champions. Mbappe, who has now scored 13 goals in 13 matches for PSG and France this season, profited from a great run from 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery, wrong-footing Milan keeper Mike Maignan with his strike from the edge of the box. Luis Enrique's side dominated and thought they had doubled their lead in the 48th minute, but Ousmane Dembele's fine curling finish was ruled out by the video assistant referee for a foul in the build up. Five minutes later and PSG got their second after Dembele's strike was saved by Maignan but tapped in by Kolo Muani on the rebound. Maignan tipped a late Mbappe strike on to the post as the 2020 finalists finished strongly. And substitute Lee rounded off the victory with a side-footed strike after more good work from teenager Zaire-Emery. Milan remain winless in Europe this season and are bottom of Group F, with two points from their opening three matches.

SUNDAY 29th OCTOBER 2023 - FRENCH LIGUE 1
Brest 2 Paris Saint Germain 3 (Mbappe 28, 89)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1362E/production/_131560497_parisst-germain.jpg PSG have won their last four games in all competitions
Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris St-Germain fended off a Brest fightback to win and move up to second in Ligue 1. Warren Zaire-Emery put the visitors ahead with a shot from distance early on before Mbappe's deflected finish appeared to have them in control. Steve Mounie got one back for Brest with a header before Jeremy le Douaron nodded in an equaliser. But Mbappe slotted in the winner late on after his initial penalty was denied. It was harsh on Brest, who had looked the most likely to grab the winner as Gianluigi Donnarumma made some crucial saves. The win stretches PSG's unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five games and moves them to within a point of leaders Nice. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/E80E/production/_131560495_kylianmbappe.jpg

Kylian Mbappe: Real Madrid rubbish rumours of talks with Paris St-Germain forward
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/128D7/production/_131619957_gettyimages-1762493201.jpg Kylian Mbappe is Paris St-Germain's most valuable playing assetReal Madrid have denied holding discussions with Paris St-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and say any such claims are "flatly false". The France attacker has been a target of the Spanish club and could leave PSG when his contract expires next summer. PSG accepted a world record bid of £259m from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal for the 24-year-old in July, but Mbappe rejected the move. Madrid said they have had no talks with the 2018 World Cup winner. "Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid wants to state that this information is flatly false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG," said the La Liga club in a statement. Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Barcelona have all been linked with Mbappe, who could leave PSG for free at the end of this season and is widely thought to prefer a move to Madrid.

SATURDAY 11th NOVEMBER 2023 FRENCH LIGUE 1
Reims 0 Paris Saint Germain 3 (Mbappe 3, 59, 82)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1863C/production/_131700999_gettyimages-1775984013.jpg Paris St-Germain are unbeaten in their last eight league games having lost just once this seasonKylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick as Paris St-Germain moved top of Ligue 1 with victory over Reims. Mbappe beat Yehvann Diouf with a volleyed effort from the edge of the area to give hand PSG a third-minute lead. He scored again in the second half, tapping in a Carlos Soler through ball from close range. Mbappe sealed his side's victory with his third of the evening when he struck a Bradley Barcola cutback past Diouf. Reims showed promise and thought they scored in the first half through Junya Ito, but his goal was disallowed for offside. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was regularly called into action to defend his side's advantage with a number of point-blank saves. The result leaves PSG sitting a point ahead of second-placed Nice in the French top flight. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/ADD4/production/_131700544_gettyimages-1775995526.jpg

SATURDAY 18th NOVEMBER 2023 - EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP - QUALIFYING GROUP B
France 14 (Mbappe 30 pen, 74, 82) Gilbraltar 0 (Santos sent off 18)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/137D2/production/_131762897_france.jpg Kylian Mbappe scored three of the 14 goalsFrance scored seven goals in each half as they recorded their biggest ever win by thrashing 10-man Gibraltar 14-0 in Euro 2024 qualifying. The hosts are already through to the Germany tournament but did not take things easy as Kylian Mbappe hit a hat-trick that included a 40-yard strike. Teenager Warren Zaire-Emery was one of seven different first-half scorers. At 17 years, eight months and 11 days, he became France's youngest player since 1914. He marked his debut with a goal to make it 3-0 before going off injured. Ethan Santos turned Jonathan Clauss' cross into his own net after just three minutes before Marcus Thuram made it 2-0 minutes later. Then came Zaire-Emery's goal before the unfortunate Santos was shown a red card in the 18th minute. Mbappe made it 4-0 from the penalty spot before further strikes from Clauss, Kingsley Coman and Youssouf Fofana made it 7-0 at the break. France appeared to take their foot off the pedal for a while as it took until the 63rd minute for them to add an eighth, Adrien Rabiot drilling home. But then the goals started flowing again as Coman and Ousmane Dembele scored before Mbappe grabbed two more - including a stunning 40-yard finish after the striker spotted goalkeeper Dayle Coleing off his line. Olivier Giroud rounded off the huge win by helping himself to two goals in quick succession shortly before the final whistle. France finished the game with 39 shots on goal, compared to none for Gibraltar. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/C2A2/production/_131762894_france.jpg

FRIDAY 24th NOVEMBER 2023 - FRENCH LIGUE 1
Paris Saint Germain 5 (Mbappe 39 pen) Monaco 2
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/5E61/production/_131816142_mbappe_reuters2.png Kylian Mbappe scored his 178th career Ligue 1 goal and his 10th against his former club Monaco
Paris St-Germain warmed up for a vital Champions League tie against Newcastle by beating Monaco 5-2 to go four points clear at the top of Ligue 1. Goncalo Ramos put the hosts ahead, but Gianluigi Donnarumma's clearance fell to Takumi Minamino and he levelled. Kylian Mbappe's converted penalty restored the lead for PSG, who scored twice more in the second half through Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha. Folarin Balogun scored for Monaco, but Randal Kolo Muani added PSG's fifth. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/1197D/production/_131816027_mbappe_reuters.pngMbappe's goal against his former side was his 14th of the season in the league and came after Soungoutou Magassa fouled Dembele in the 18-yard box. Ramos had earlier benefitted from a mistake from away goalkeeper Philipp Kohn to score only a few days after his long-term future was secured. The 22-year-old had joined PSG on loan from Benfica in the summer but earlier this week PSG announced they have activated the clause to buy him for £70m, with the Portugal international striker now contracted to the club until 2027. Two goals in the space of three second-half minutes - Dembele finishing from Fabian Ruiz's pass and Vitinha's excellent curled strike that went in off the post - took the game away from Monaco.

Paris St-Germain: Why French side don't need to win Champions League to be successful..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/13C07/production/_131830908_psg2.jpg Kylian Mbappe appeared on the brink of leaving PSG in the summer - but has scored 16 goals in 16 games since returning to the team
Paris St-Germain could reach the Champions League last 16 for the 12th season running if they beat Newcastle on Tuesday - yet their record in the competition is still mocked by many outside the French capital. They have reached just one final, when they were beaten by Bayern Munich in 2020, and a solitary semi-final, which they lost to Manchester City the following season. Of course, PSG have spent lots of money and boasted some of the biggest names in the game, including Neymar, Lionel Messi, Thiago Silva, Angel di Maria, Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and, still, Kylian Mbappe But chief revenue officer Marc Armstrong rejects completely the assertion PSG's status is diminished by their failure to lift the biggest trophy in the European club game. "You don't have to win the Champions League to be a successful football club," he said. "Would we love to win it? Yes. In the past four seasons, we have been in a final and a semi-final. We are one of only three teams to be in the knockout stage every season since 2012-13, along with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. We are number four in the Uefa coefficient. "But the chairman was quite forthright this summer with the new sporting strategy - that [Champions League] is not an obsession." ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/C6D7/production/_131830905_mbappe.jpg Armstrong was not keen to talk about Mbappe's future, although there have been reports the 24-year-old is now considering staying with PSG rather than realising what many assume to be a boyhood dream of joining Real. "He is a great player, clearly, and important from a sporting point of view," he said. "But, commercially, we are bigger than any one player. It is about the brand and what we are building. We know we will always have a strong competitive squad on the pitch. There will always be investment on and off the pitch to continue to grow."

TUESDAY 28th NOVEMBER 2023 - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - GROUP F
Paris Saint Germain 1 (Mbappe 90+8) Newcastle United 1 (Isak 24)
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/19F4/production/_131844660_kylianmbappe.jpg Kylian Mbappe converted the equalising penalty in the 98th minuteKylian Mbappe scored a controversial late penalty to deny Newcastle an impressive win at Parc des Princes but the draw keeps the visitors in the fight to reach the Champions League knockout stages. The spot-kick was awarded after review by the video assistant referee, with referee Szymon Marciniak consulting the pitchside monitor before ruling Tino Livramento had handled the ball inside the box when blocking a cross. It was a cruel blow for Eddie Howe's side, who had looked on course to secure a hugely impressive win after Aleksander Isak struck in the first half when Miguel Almiron's effort had been pushed to the striker's feet. Newcastle then defended with everything they had to keep out PSG and Nick Pope made a superb save from close range to deny first Bradley Barcola and then Kylian Mbappe, who drove the rebound just wide. But the visitors' resolve was broken deep in stoppage time when PSG were awarded the penalty, from which Mbappe made no mistake.
