We have no news so we do not know if any work has been done. Does that mean that no work has been done. Cat in the box time. I would be pleasantly surprised if they had quietly got on with finishing the South Stand without shouting from its roof top,eg 'another screw gone in and lick of paint too'!Etc. I think they have to...the concourse area has lots of space under it,and is a big area but i had no facilities. As I said the Carlisle game I went to, basically all the food/bar and toilets areas are in the same positions as when we had tents there. The south west end was cramped and not comfortable at all.The prices were over the top also. I'm getting this gut feeling that after the UWE and fruit market fell through the club thought we have to do something to keep the wolfs/ fans at bay, so jumped at taking the £750k each club is entitled to do the south end. I'm guessing and have heard that the total build was £1.5- £2 Million, pretty cheap really.Maybe thats why it was rushed through quickly without Planning permission? And why we have seen no other plans for the east/North sides that we were promised? Look at Stockports plans for Edgely Park compared to this .. Minimum that has to happen is concourse finished by August and our first game.

To me there has always been a big question mark over whether sufficient thought was put into the drawing up of the plans for the South Stand concourse. The width of the concourse is about 5 meters and it is the only entry and exit point for the stand. By comparison the width of the concourses at Ashton Gate is about 17 meters. So what would happen if there was a need for an emergency evacuation while the concourse was crowded with people queuing for the toilets or the food outlets or milling around eating and drinking. Would the number of people allowed in the stand be able to get out safely within the timescale set by regulators ? We know that the second planning application for the stand itself was approved but did that approval include the concourse facilities ?

Remember how the build of the South Stand carried on,after a pause for sometime, even though we were still to get PP from BCC. I think the building company told Rovers something like ' we only have so much time here, before we move onto our next job ,so if we don't start building again you'll be left with a building site'. Is it possible that the time lost, when the building stopped,is the reason the South Stand 'bits and pieces' are not finished and won't be until Rovers find some more cash'?

Most likely, good point but I can't see putting permanent bogs in and moving the food/ bar stoles under the concourse as needing huge cash?

Couldn't we move our bar/ food facilities area to where the big gate area is to divide the away end? We could block it off permanently and put a decent sized set of toilets under in also, this would leave a decent sized area for people to walk/leave in an emergency. I can't see it costing much or being any worse that it is currently. In a emergency you a screwed getting out of the south end from behind the west stand.Only way of fast exit would be via the pitch. I've always wondered how the club has been allowed to run only really having exits from the ground on the filton ave? Surely the Alton ave steps/road could be used for the Away fans? But from drone footage that I've seen recently the new stand completely blocks the potential use of them in the future.

In 24/25 the Sports Grounds Safety Authority is increasing the cost of a stadium license and based upon Rovers attendances it looks as though it will go up from the current £100 to about £ 12,000. Safety at the Mem may well be an issue we’ll be hearing more about in the coming months. sgsa.org.uk/regulatory-support/sgsa-licence/sgsa-licence-fee/

Suggest you use a calculator in future as just over £1 per spectator is nowhere near £12K?
It seems a massive increase for just a license fee but it's hardly going to bankrupt a league football club.

Yes it may be nearer £ 9,500 based upon the last two seasons attendances. But I’m looking on the bright side and expecting attendances to increase over the next two seasons. Aren’t you

Wouldn't be surprised to see the SGSA opening a permanent office at the Mem,there is so much dilapidation within the stadium they will have to appoint a full time inspector to assure people the place is safe.

With ST’s at half of what they were, last season I doubt we will see a sellout. Yet another unthought out mistake by the manchild. Not much positive coming out of the club nor fans.

Good news, it's seems they are doing things right this time. Only problem is more student flats 🥱😠 All that ever gets built in Bristol is student accommodation.👎 But if they need to do it in order I can understand. I only hope it's not in one of the corners near the Thatchers end or where away terrace is currently like the plans from years ago. It would be nice to have the south end and new east stand joining.I hope it's built at the back of the new east stand.

That photo really brings home what a cobbled together Stadium looks like.

That photo really brings home what a cobbled together Stadium looks like. I do think most of the blame for that lies at the feet of the Rugby club.....that big blue box does look a tad overpowering tho'

When Port Vale played here their commentator on BBC Radio Stoke said 'None of the stands match or are co-ordinated in any way and the main stand reminds me of a cricket Pavilion.'

Oh god, no please, not another artists impression, I think I’d lose the Will to carry on.
