Apparently Rovers have applied to BCC to erect a big screen "next" to the South Stand. In that gap in seating on south east corner? A formality I assume . What's the point when everybody stares at their mobiles?

Is it finished now with the concourse,Disabled seating food and toilets etc all sorted?
Bristol Rovers received a £750,000 grant from the Premier League to help build the new South Stand at the Mem which has been hosting fans since December.
The Premier League Stadium Fund (PLSF), which was previously known as the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) but has an extended remit, awards capital grants to clubs lower down the pyramid to support their development of stadium facilities.
Rovers also took out a loan with Nationwide Finance Limited, secured against the Mem, to help finance the construction of the new 3,414-capacity stand behind the goal to the left of the dugouts. Previously, the club had had a smaller stand within a tent whereas this structure has a solid steel roof, allowing more accessible seats to be added.
Clubs within the National League system (steps one to six), the women's football pyramid (tiers one to four), the EFL and other grassroots leagues are all entitled to apply for a grant if they also meet requirements specific to their league.

The rest of the redevelopment seems to have gone suspiciously quiet for quite a while now. Considering the new owner claimed they were two weeks away from having plans all drawn up and ready to go about two months or more ago now. Surely if they have learned anything there should at least be some kind of consultation with local residents which you would think would start before any firm plans were drawn up so they can address concerns and try and get residents on side. So either they're about to make all the same mistakes again, or as I suspect they haven't even started with plans very seriously because the club is totally skint.

The owner said they'd discuss and agree plans with BCC's planners before going public, we've no idea what stage, if any, they have reached with the planners.

Have the club confirmed a grant was obtained or have Bristol Live simply accepted the suggestion in the recent Times article our very wealthy foreign owners obtain one? The small print states "Any grant over £100,000 (or less if there is a particular concern) will require a legal restriction or charge placed on the land title. Associated legal fees for setting-up would be included as part of the eligible cost." I can't recall any further charges being placed on the Mem?

We've had so much bulls**t fed us from board members over the decades,I don't suppose this lot are any different.
His first big fib was saying he sacked J oseph because of our bad run.I don't believe that for a moment. Saeed could'nt stand not having a "yes" man as Manager.
As for news of a big screen, or the facilities in the Soouth Stand and plans for the East Stand, well it leaves me quite numb.
Endless eternal bulls**t.

I went to one game in the new south stand last season against Carlisle, and while it's a complete, and dramatic improvement on what was there before it was still not finished. If before the first game of the season, the concourse and faculty's are not finished and fitted with proper, and permanent toilets and foods stools etc then I will be concerned,as there is no excuse for them not to be That game there was a pretty small crowd there 8k and in the south end it felt full and crowded Mickey mouse with no proper organization. If that's not done before our first game then I will lose all faith in the rest of the rebuild as it shows our intentions.

In the scenario the South Stand is still not finished by our first home game, then it'll be more evidence that BRFC have become a joke FC.Again.

Difficult to see anything happening until the Al Saeeds return. Apparently not one of them has been near the club since Peterborough at home on April 28th. Perhaps they also will return when the players do on July 1st

So no work has been done at all on the South Stand since April? Surely the close season is when this sort of work gets done. Perhaps it's on hold whilst they finalise the plans to completely redevelop the stadium to the 16,000 capacity they have promised. Yeah right.

I would be pleasantly surprised if they had quietly got on with finishing the South Stand without shouting from its roof top,eg 'another screw gone in and lick of paint too'!Etc.
