ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/2251/live/a89ceed0-209f-11ee-941e-23d1e9ab75fa.pngShould Harry Kane stay or should he go...
Marco: I think Spurs have let Kane down yet again. He has ambitions but they just don't seem to share the same vision. Spurs are a club that hold others to ransom but happily poach players off smaller clubs for next to nothing. Kane has been a loyal servant and yet they blocked him joining man city a year ago. Personally I think Bayern are paying over the odds for a 30-year-old and he should sit out the last year of his contract and then join whoever he wants to join rather than who will meet Spurs demands. Iain: Kane is holding all the cards now. He might see out his contract and head to Manchester next summer assuming Ange doesn’t work a miracle this year. He’s still got a few years to go. Henrik Larsson left Celtic aged 33 and went on to win La Liga, Champions League, and Premier League titles. …. Of course Henrik was better than Harry! Rob W-G, gardening on the sunny Isle of Wight: Harry Kane has earned the TOTAL right to choose whatever he wants England and Spurs LEGEND. He'll be back in a couple of seasons for a Spurs swansong when we win the Champions League. Mike Hughes: Harry Kane can take the same paths as Teddy Sheringham and Gareth Bale. Leave Spurs to go to a big club and get those trophies. After a few years return to Spurs and be welcomed back as a legend. Amrul Choudhury: Please spare a thought for Dortmund. Missed out on the Title on the last day, sold arguably their best player Bellingham and now they see Bayern sign Kane to all but seal Bundesliga for the next 3/4 years. Anon: If he leaves he has a strong chance of winning the Bundesliga, a domestic cup and UCL. If he then gets England over the line at Euro 2024 he goes on to win a Ballon D'or. Lots of ifs but got to be on his mind.. Rich, London: When push comes to shove, Kane will stay in his comfort zone. If he was desperate to win trophies he'd have left Spurs years ago. Graham, Sussex: It’s a strange one. Could understand the appeal of Barca or Real but the Bundesliga is a real step down from the Prem. Maybe a couple of seasons there then a return to Tottenham? Rory: No brainer for Kane. He has to go. He will always be a legend in England. Time to become one in Germany. Stupots: I don't understand the rhetoric that Kane has to win something to prove himself? Really... He wins a German title in a league where one team are dominant and then are people going to say he's world class? Stay in England and breaking Shearers record has to mean more? Dave Ball: He must think I'm 30 years old and won absolutely nothing. Can I wait 2/3 seasons to see if Spurs are going to be good enough to win anything? Or take a few German titles and cups and potentially the CL? He wants to win something at Spurs, but the clock is ticking! Andrew Priestley: It’s time to find out how severe a case of Stockholm syndrome Harry Kane really has… Martin: If Kane really did not want to make a change he would have signed an extension long ago, his continued silence says it was just about deal being made, not his desire, and for all optimism for manager and signings it’s going to be a long season for Spurs you feel without Kane's goals. Alec: If Kane has wanted to move to Bayern supposedly all summer, why is there a "decision to be made"? Something doesn't feel right. Anon: What I can't quite understand now is why people are saying "it's up to Kane", when it's almost certain he wants to leave because Bayern have been pushing and negotiating for him all summer? Just a matter of time. Former England, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle striker Michael Owen says Harry Kane should stay at Spurs:
"I know Bayern Munich are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Harry Kane, I'd stay put. "There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them. "Real Madrid I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter. Becoming the all-time Premier League top goal scorer with Spurs is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one team.".

Harry Kane transfer news: Tottenham and England striker to have medical at Bayern Munich..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/17DF2/production/_130487779_f1e2a888f63fd256cb4340c379a6a87fa685d72f.jpg Harry Kane scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League games for Tottenham last seasonEngland captain Harry Kane is set to have a medical at Bayern Munich after being given permission to travel to Germany by Tottenham. Bayern and Spurs agreed a deal worth more than 100m euros (£86.4m) for the 30-year-old on Thursday. The decision to move was then left up to Kane, who is Tottenham's all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances. Kane had one year left on his contract and was unlikely to stay with the club. How did we get here ?
June 2021: Kane is linked with a £160m move to Manchester City following speculation around his future. August 2021: City boss Pep Guardiola confirms the club's interest in the forward but later that month Kane says he will stay at Tottenham with Levy refusing to sell. March 2023: Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag reportedly targets Kane as a priority summer transfer target. 5th June 2023: Real Madrid also express interest in signing Kane. 15th June 2023: United pull out of race to sign Kane, reportedly because of difficulty of dealing with Levy and Spurs asking for too much money. 27th June 2023: Reports that Bayern made a £70m bid for Kane, but Tottenham sources denied it had been received and said they would immediately reject any offer. 28th June 2023: Bayern make improved offer for Kane, but it is again rejected. 10th July 2023: New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou says he wants Kane to stay at Spurs. 14th July 2023: Confirmation Kane will take part in Spurs' pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East. 5th August 2023: Bayern tell Tottenham they want a decision by the end of the day over whether they are prepared to sell Harry Kane. 7th August 2023: Tottenham reject Bayern's most recent offer for Kane with the Bundesliga champions suggesting an unsuccessful bid on this occasion would mean they moved on to other transfer targets. 10th August 2023: Bayern and Tottenham agree a deal worth 100m euros (£86.4m), leaving it to Kane to decide his future. 11th August 2023: Kane is given permission by Spurs to fly to Germany for a medical. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/13F9A/production/_130381818_gettyimages-1243991851.jpg

ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/2A50/production/_130723801_yourviews.jpgOn our Tottenham page, we asked for your thoughts on Harry Kane looking like he's chosen to make the switch to Bayern Munich.
Here are some of your replies:Ron: Very disappointed that HK has decided to go, particularly 48 hours before the first match of a new season! He may well win a few trophies with Bayern but I don't believe they will mean as much as becoming the leading Premier League goalscorer! Nick: Goodbye, Harry, and thanks for your service. We hope it works out for you in pastures new. Now looking forward, Ange - you can now shape this team in your fashion, not restricted by Harry. This I believe will make Spurs stronger, not weaker! Looking forward to Sunday and for the first time in years watching Spurs PLAY with passion and excitement! COYS! Colin F: Dark day at Spurs, losing our/the Premier League's best all-round striker. The owners of the club are to blame. It all started when Pochettino was sacked. The owners do not care about THFC football club, they put money above all. We are the laughing stock of the Premier League! Peter: Good luck, Harry. You've been incredible for Spurs for so long. Thank you. Colin H: Will he be remembered for winning the German league? I don't think so. He has been in three finals with Spurs - including the Champions League - and failed in all of them.

ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/177C/production/_130721060_harrykanegossip.pngEngland striker Harry Kane has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to leave Tottenham and join the German champions on a four-year deal. Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel made Kane his number one target and will be stunned if the England captain does not move. Tottenham will consider a shock move for Chelsea's Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku, 30, if Kane does complete his move to Bayern.

Brentford v Tottenham kick-off delayed by water supply issue..
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/13FEB/production/_130699818_brentford.jpg Referee Robert Jones explained to Brentford and Tottenham staff why kick-off had to be delayedKick-off in Brentford's opening Premier League game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur was delayed by six minutes because of a water supply issue at Gtech Community Stadium. The game was scheduled to begin at 2pm and the players and officials were on the pitch ready to start. However they were made to wait and the game eventually began at 2.06pm. Brentford said they had to deal with an issue around their water supply that was "affecting all related facilities". It was the second time this weekend that kick-off in a Premier League game was delayed, after a ticketing issue caused Arsenal's game with Nottingham Forest on Saturday to be pushed back 30 minutes. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/14238/production/_130788428_brentfordstadiumview.jpg

Bayern Munich fans could not have been more excited when Harry Kane finally arrived in Munich on Friday.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/8C80/production/_130786953_harry_kane3.jpg Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel will be hoping Harry Kane can fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski's move to Barcelona in 2022After more than a month of negotiations between Bayern and Tottenham, much of it in the public eye, Kane had finally become a player for the German champions. However, only a little more than 24 hours after his arrival, the mood was already dampened, as Bayern lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup final. Kane made his first appearance in Munich's Allianz Arena when Thomas Tuchel brought him on to replace Mathys Tel in the 63rd minute. The Bayern manager felt bad that Kane's debut came as a part of a losing effort. "I just feel sorry for him," Tuchel said after the game. "He probably thinks we haven't trained for four weeks. "Our performance today had nothing to do with what we wanted to do. It's a very bitter evening, I'm sorry." ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/15228/production/_130786568_harry_kane.jpg

Hugo Lloris: Tottenham in talks with Lazio over sale of former France international goalkeeper..By Alex Howell, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/112E3/production/_130817307_gettyimages-1484485679.jpg Hugo Loris played in 447 games for Tottenham..Tottenham are in talks with Lazio over the potential sale of goalkeeper and former captain Hugo Lloris. The former France international was omitted from the Spurs squad as they opened their Premier League campaign with a 2-2 draw at Brentford. Lloris expressed a desire to leave the club earlier this summer and was also left out of their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East. He has made 447 appearances for Spurs since signing from Lyon in 2012. The Premier League side are keen to receive a fee for Lloris, who still has a year remaining on the two-year contract he signed at Spurs last summer. During this 11-year stay in north London, Lloris, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, has kept 151 clean sheets for the club. He was also part of the Tottenham side to reach the 2019 Champions League final under former boss Mauricio Pochettino. However, he has not played since April after injuring his thigh in a thumping 6-1 loss at Newcastle last season. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/16103/production/_130817309_gettyimages-1480052766.jpg

James Maddison: Have Spurs finally found a replacement for Christian Eriksen ?..By Matthew Howarth, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/14172/production/_130909228_gettyimages-1640299227.jpg James Maddison registered more shots, attempted more crosses and engaged in more duels than any of his team-mates in the win at BournemouthJames Maddison's Tottenham career is almost two months old, yet with the way he has settled it almost feels like the England man has been at the club for years. After following up his two assists at Brentford with an influential display against Manchester United last weekend, Maddison is going up through the gears. He scored his first goal in Tottenham colours at Bournemouth on Saturday and delivered a superb all-round display to help Ange Postecoglou's side continue their unbeaten start to the campaign. Maddison was sensational at Vitality Stadium, dropping deep on numerous occasions to collect possession, threading passes into the path of team-mates and producing a composed finish to set Spurs on their way to a second league win of the season. It may be early days but the former Leicester man, named as a vice-captain to Son Heung-min following Harry Kane's summer departure to Bayern Munich, looks set to play a key role as Postecoglou aims to rejuvenate a Spurs side that was low on creativity and invention under previous managers Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. "I'm at my best when I have responsibility on my shoulders - that's when I thrive," Maddison told BBC Match of the Day after Saturday's 2-0 win. "I'm a player who loves to be on the ball and that fits with how the manager wants his players to play." A delighted Postecoglou added: "He's the kind of guy that when the ball gets to his feet, things happen. He also works hard for the team. He embraces that side of it. "I thought it was a really good performance from him." ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/F352/production/_130909226_gettyimages-1640268808.jpg

ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/12E14/production/_130923377_hohbjerg.pngManchester United are considering a surprise move for Tottenham's 28-year-old Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Tottenham have entered talks with Nottingham Forest over a deal for their Wales forward Brennan Johnson, but a formal bid is yet to be submitted for the 22-year-old. Leeds have made an approach for Tottenham's England Under-21 right-back Djed Spence, 23, on a season-long loan deal.

Spurs are also weighing up a late transfer window bid for Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher, 23. Tottenham and Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 28, is also being viewed as a potential option to replace Palhinha, who Fulham value at £60m. Tottenham have rejected an offer from Burnley for England defender Eric Dier, 29. English defender Japhet Tanganga, 24, is close to leaving Spurs to join German side Augsburg on loan.

Here are some of your thoughts:Joshua: The only thing that Spurs need to do is sign a striker as Richarlison will not get you 30 goals a season like Kane could. Patrick: Ideally, a half-decent striker who can pop a goal in here and there, like Vlahovic. It's unfortunate that Juventus are so against the transfer as it would be of real benefit both teams. Luca: Simple. In comes Brennan Johnson, out goes Sanchez, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Dier, Lo Celso and Tanganga. Brian: Would like to see them go for Gift Orban as opposed to Johnson. A dynamic player with the attacking and goalscoring ability we need. Mark: I think that Eze would be good. But realistically, we need a new striker to either be a Richarlison back-up or a replacement.

We asked for your views on Saturday's game Burnley 2 Tottenham 5
Here are some of your comments:
Burnley fansHoward: Too early to be despondent. Burnley must keep playing attractive football whilst sharpening their possession as Spurs did. There's a long way to go. Keep the faith. Bob: Early days I know but it’s the worst possible start for us. I just hope that we can improve quickly enough. Possibly a little too risky playing quite so many inexperienced youngsters at the same time? Alan: No surprise. The team last season was adequate only because of the experienced players who came down with the club from the Premier League. They have now been jettisoned in favour of people who can run for long periods. It needs more than simply being fit to win games. Relegation is nailed on. Tottenham fans
Harry: We finally have our attacking Spurs back. I literally cannot stress enough how wonderful it is to see us not sitting back and trying to absorb pressure when we start to lead games. We have the quality to put games to bed and that’s exactly what we did. Son finally firing. Maddison is an absolute gem, what a piece of business to acquire him. Stephen: There are going to be blips along the way but all teams have them. This Spurs team look the complete unit. Son, Maddison and Bissouma look like they have played together for years rather than months. Long may it continue. Still got to master not giving that first goal away though, must start quicker. David: Brilliant display. Great to have a manager who has such a connection in such a short period with the players and with the fans. This will only grow from here. Exciting times ahead. Michael: It's always good when you win but, unlike wins in the past few seasons, I'm not left feeling disappointed in the manner of the win. Now it seems any one of our players can score because the attacking intent is there. We will concede goals but as long as we take some of the chances we create we will be in with a shout in most games. ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/2ec8/live/1c5b1b30-4b25-11ee-9b58-cb80889117a8.jpgBBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty has been answering fans' questions as we head into the first international break of the Premier League season.Murray: Was Harry Kane holding Spurs back? Phil: Is that the sound of your tongue drilling a hole in your cheek that I can hear, Murray? Of course he wasn't - it was probably the other way around. What we can say is that Spurs do not, as yet, appear to be suffering for his absence as they play exciting football under new manager Ange Postecoglou. James Maddison looks an absolute snip at £45m and Son Heung-min is in the goals. A bump in the road at Fulham in the Carabao Cup, but so far so good in the post-Kane era. Michael: As much as Spurs fans will miss Harry Kane and will always thank him - especially for last season - do you think this is a case where a player leaving may well have a positive effect, somewhat inadvertently? "Early days, Michael. Any team would miss the world-class talent and goals of Harry Kane, but I sort of take your point. Others may have room to step forward, although I still have my doubts about Richarlison as the long-term answer. "James Maddison will bring so much added creation to Spurs after the drudgery of the Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte eras. Brennan Johnson is a top young talent, while Son Heung-min is a class act. "I still think Spurs will need to sign a potent striker, but it's all looking good so far under Ange Postecoglou - Fulham aside - and they are also so good to watch at the moment."

Lewis: For Spurs, a strong start was a must in order to capitalise on the early-season optimism surrounding the club. I have to say that the manor in which we’ve conducted ourselves is nothing short of outstanding (Fulham aside). As Ange has done well to remind everyone, there will be blips along the way but couldn’t have asked for a better start from a team that can surely only get stronger. Mark: 9/10 for Spurs - Barring the woeful cup exit, our start of the season has been great and we’ve got rid of some of the fringe players. Maddison and Udogie look like superb signings. Don’t have the squad depth for a sustained challenge, but top 6 should be the target. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/976/cpsprodpb/1095D/production/_131133976_harrykane.pngTottenham chairman Daniel Levy has revealed the club have a buy-back clause to re-sign England striker Harry Kane, 30, should he leave Bayern Munich. Kane would have waited until next summer to sign for Manchester United on a free transfer from Spurs if he had been given assurances over a move to Old Trafford. Real Madrid had put in a £60m bid for Kane before the England captain moved to Bayern Munich this summer while Paris St-Germain also made an approach. Brentford head coach Thomas Frank says he would consider selling England striker Ivan Toney, 27, in January if the price was right. Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are all interested in Toney with Brentford willing to let the player leave for a fee of £60m.
