Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says Richarlison has "all the attributes" he wants in a striker after the Brazilian scored a pre-season hat-trick.

Spurs beat Lion City Sailors 5-1 at Singapore National Stadium to finish their tour of Asia with a victory.

Richarlison was a second-half substitute and scored two goals within eight minutes before claiming a third in stoppage time.

"I really like him [as a player]," said Postecoglou in Singapore.

Shawal Anuar put the Sailors into a surprise lead on 14 minutes before England captain Harry Kane equalised with a penalty after midfielder Pape Matar Sarr was brought down in the area at the end of the first half.

Argentina midfielder Giovani lo Celso scored Spurs' fourth goal when he drove home a loose ball in the six-yard box after 73 minutes.

Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton for £60m last summer and has scored three goals for the club in 35 appearances.

Australian Postecoglou, who took over as manager at the start of July, said the 26-year-old's main attributes were his strength and work ethic, adding: "He's always in the right areas.

"I've really got a lot of time for him and he's one of the players I'm really looking forward to working with. You try to picture your players playing the football you want to play and I certainly think he can."

Richarlison said he "felt good" and thinks this season could be a turning point in his Spurs career.

"Last season, I had too many injuries - but now I feel good. My body is good and I am so happy," he said. "Singapore has been so good for me and for the group."

Postecoglou made 11 changes at half-time and Richarlison's first goal fell to him from Lo Celso's deflected effort, with his second coming shortly after as he pounced on a weak clearance to head in.

He was twice denied a hat-trick goal by the offside flag but his persistence paid off when he burst through the Sailors' defence to coolly flick home his third.

The comfortable victory handed Postecoglou his first win in charge, after they were beaten by Premier League rivals West Ham in their opening pre-season game last week in Perth, Australia.

Their match with Leicester City in Bangkok, Thailand was cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch and Postecoglou's side will now travel home to face Shakhtar Donetsk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 6 August.

Earlier on Wednesday, news broke that UK billionaire Joe Lewis, whose family trust owns Tottenham, will appear in a US court to face insider trading charges.

Spurs declined to comment on the matter, saying it was not a club issue, with Postecoglou adding: "It doesn't affect me in terms of what I'm trying to do."

Eric Dier is upset he "didn't do more" to help former Tottenham team-mate Dele Alli.

Dele, who is now at Everton, recently said he was "molested" aged six, started smoking aged seven and was dealing drugs at eight years old.

He also revealed he spent six weeks in rehab because of a sleeping pill addiction and mental health issues.

"Obviously, it was difficult to watch," Spurs defender Dier told various newspapers about Dele's interview.

"Lots of stuff, not everything, but quite a lot of it I knew already. I was with him just a week before, he was at my wedding.

"I don't know what to say about it. I don't want to say anything that I haven't said to him. I wouldn't do that. For me it was, as I said, it was difficult to watch, upsetting.

"I think my overwhelming feeling, which I said to him as well, is probably I'm upset that I didn't do more."

Dier, who was speaking during Tottenham's pre-season tour of Singapore, said he had not known about the abuse Dele said he had suffered as a child before being adopted aged 12.

"No, I wasn't aware of it. There were things that I was and wasn't aware of," said 29-year-old England international Dier.

"A long time ago I went to Milton Keynes with him and he showed me around where he grew up. He showed me everything so I was aware of the outline of the picture, the frame, but not the picture itself."

Dele made his senior football debut aged 16 for MK Dons in 2012 and, after signing for Tottenham in February 2015, was loaned back to the then-League One side for the rest of that season.

He then joined up with Spurs, who had brought in Dier in August 2014.

Both were part of the England squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and helped Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019.

However, Dele's form dipped and he left Spurs to join Everton in February 2022 before going on loan to Turkish side Besiktas last season.

The 27-year-old, who earned the most recent of his 37 England caps in 2019, returned to Everton at the end of last season because of injury.

In his interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap, Dele described Dier as a "great friend" and someone who, along with Tottenham's Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Ben Davies, "will always hold a special place in my heart".

"Dele has a heart of gold," added Dier. "He really does. I'm upset with myself and disappointed with myself that I didn't do more.

"He's a great friend to me as well, it's not all one way. He's done many things over the course of time that mean a lot to me.

"He's someone that I know that I could call him right now if I needed him to be here in Singapore and he'd come. That's the kind of friend he is."

Bayern Munich remain confident of completing a deal to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane, 30, before the transfer window closes.

An executive summit, involving Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen, technical director Marco Neppe and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, will be held on Monday where the German club will make a bid of £75m for the England captain.

Music mogul Jay-Z is preparing to bid for Tottenham if the club's owner Joe Lewis is convicted of alleged fraud and insider trading.

We reported back in June that Bayern Munich were preparing to up their offer for Harry Kane following reports they had a £70m bid rejected.

Fast forward a month and it seems Bayern are still not prepared to go above that £70m mark, while, according to the story in the Athletic, Spurs want £25m more than what the Bundesliga champions are willing to offer.

So what would be a fair price for a proven goalscorer at the very highest level, albeit one who has just turned 30 and only has one year left on his contract ?

Anon: £90m is about what Spurs would need to cover their valuation from Harry Kane's goals, sponsorship, league position, etc and make a tidy profit. Bayern are unlikely to hit this so a negotiated middle ground of £80m seems reasonable to avoid the free transfer next season.

On value, £70 million for a player in the last year of his contract is an inflated price so if Kane wants to go, take their hand off.

England striker Harry Kane, 30, could give up a large part of his Tottenham salary to help push through a move to Bayern Munich.

Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Wolfsburg's 22-year-old Dutch defender Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham are looking to finalise the sale of 27-year-old Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Atletico Madrid, who value him at £30m.

Gary Lineker is "concerned" for Tottenham "whatever happens" with Harry Kane during the transfer window.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from the north London club, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich understood to be his preferred choice if a deal could be made.

The England captain - who is out of contract at the end of this season - was Spurs' top scorer during the last campaign, but his 30 league goals were still not enough to prevent the side finishing eighth - their lowest position in the league since 2008-09.

Speaking to PA news agency, former Spurs and England forward Lineker said: "I'm concerned for Spurs either way, whatever happens with Harry.

"I have been concerned about them for a while, I see where they ended last season and they are in the worst position they had been in for quite some time.

"They have made an exceptional signing in James Maddison, he is a better player than a lot of people think, I think he is absolutely top class.

"That is a good addition but they are a long, long way short. The new manager could make a difference, but Harry, the goals he scores, take that away from any team it would be hugely difficult. It is time to rebuild for Tottenham - rebuild, rethink, re-plan."

Tottenham are moving closer to a deal for 22-year-old Wolfsburg's Dutch defender Micky van de Ven in a deal worth an initial 40m euros and possibly rising to 50m euros with add-ons.

After signing Van de Ven, Spurs will look to bolster their defence further by moving for Bayer Leverkusen's 24-year-old Burkina Faso centre-back Edmond Tapsoba, who is rated at £50m by the Bundesliga club.

Harry Kane scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League games for Spurs last season

Tottenham have rejected Bayern Munich's latest offer for striker Harry Kane.

Bayern had hoped to agree a deal for the England skipper but it is understood the two sides remain apart in their valuation of the 30-year-old.

The Bundesliga champions had suggested if their bid for Kane was unsuccessful on this occasion they would move on to other transfer targets.

However, with over three weeks of the transfer window left, it remains to be seen whether that is the case.

Kane, who has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, skippered Spurs in Sunday's pre-season match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

He has one year left on his contract with Tottenham and there have been no indications Kane would be willing to extend it.

If chairman Daniel Levy elects to keep the England striker it would effectively be ending the club's last chance to cash in on their talisman.

Bayern officials met Levy last week but a deal was not struck. Bild claim personal terms with Kane have already been agreed.

Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign at Brentford on 13th August. Bayern start their season with a German Super Cup meeting with RB Leipzig a day earlier.

The transfer window does not close until 1 September, but both sides would prefer a resolution before the new season begins.

Tottenham have added Argentina forward Alejo Veliz 19 to their squad.

Tottenham have completed deals for Netherlands Under-21 defender Micky van de Ven and Argentina U20 forward Alejo Veliz.

Spurs signed Van de Ven, 22, from Wolfsburg for an initial 40m euros (£34m) which could rise to a reported 50m euros (£43m) with add-ons.

Veliz, 19, has joined the London club from Rosario Central for a reported £13m fee subject to a work permit.

Both players have signed six-year contracts at Tottenham.

They are Tottenham's fourth and fifth summer signings respectively following the arrivals of England midfielder James Maddison, Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Israel winger Manor Solomon.

Van de Ven captained Netherlands Under-21s in this summer's European Championship and could be named in the Spurs squad for Tuesday's game at Barcelona (19:00 BST), their final pre-season friendly.

He played 33 Bundesliga games last season, having joined Wolfsburg from Dutch side Volendam for £3m in 2021.

Predominantly a left-sided centre-back, he made six of his 36 appearances in all competitions last season at left-back.

Veliz joined Rosario Central in 2019 and made his first-team debut in July 2021.

He has made a total of 62 appearances for the Argentine Primera Division side in all competitions where he scored 19 goals.

Veliz has won nine caps for Argentina at U20 level and found the net on three occasions having featured in both the Under-20 World Cup and the South American Under-20 Championship in 2023.
