Match report by Bobbie Jackson, BBC Sport Journalist at Goodison ParkChelsea thrashed Everton at Goodison Park in the Women's Super League to maintain their perfect start to the season under new boss Sonia Bompastor. The defending WSL champions set the tone from kick-off with Aggie Beever-Jones forcing a save from Courtney Brosnan with just 37 seconds on the clock. The Blues forward then notched the opener in the 14th minute and the chances continued to flow with Kadeisha Buchanan, Erin Cuthbert and Guro Reiten all going close. Scot Cuthbert made certain of her second opportunity two minutes before half-time, guiding the ball into the bottom corner after picking the pocket of Everton defender Veatriki Sarri. Chelsea went into the break with a three-goal advantage after Reiten stretched to turn in at the back post in added time. The visitors continued to press for further goals and eventually got them late in the second half after twice being denied by the woodwork. Substitute Wieke Kaptein smashed in the fourth with eight minutes left and Ashley Lawrence had a tap-in just a minute later to wrap up a high-scoring triumph. Chelsea moved above Brighton into second spot in the WSL, a point adrift of leaders Manchester City with a game in hand, while Everton remain bottom on two points after six games.

Women's Super League Results
Sunday 10th November 2024
Liverpool 0 Chelsea 3 (Ramirez 27, Reiten 42, Beever-Jones 90) Venue: St Helens Stadium - Attendance: 4,514
Match report by Emma Sanders, BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at St Helens Stadium
Chelsea remain hot on the heels of Women's Super League leaders Manchester City after a hard-fought victory over Liverpool.
Sonia Bompastor became the first manager to win their opening four away games in the WSL in the process, on an enjoyable afternoon in St Helens.
Mayra Ramirez opened the scoring, thumping the ball past goalkeeper Rachael Laws after Johanna Rytting Kaneryd struck the crossbar.
Chelsea quickly doubled their tally as Guro Reiten took advantage of an error by Laws, and substitute Aggie Beever-Jones added a third late on.
Liverpool, who beat Chelsea 4-3 at home in a dramatic match in May, could not draw similar inspiration and their wait for a first victory at St Helens continues.
Crystal Palace 1 (Riley 1) Everton 1 Hayashi 72) Venue: VBS Community Stadium
Match report by Jonty Colman, BBC Sport journalist
Everton came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in the Women's Super League.
The hosts took the lead after 29 seconds at Gander Green Lane when Indiah-Paige Riley converted from close range after good pressing from My Cato.
Brian Sorensen's visitors levelled 20 minutes from time, Honoka Hayashi heading in Veatriki Sarri’s cross for Everton's first WSL goal this season scored by one of their own players.
The result initially moved Everton off the bottom of the WSL table, but Aston Villa's goalless draw with Manchester United later on Sunday meant the Toffees end the day back at the foot of the table.
Crystal Palace started Sunday’s meeting with one of the other sides hoping to avoid relegation this season looking to win a WSL home match for the first time this season.
It took less than a minute to take the lead against fellow strugglers Everton. Facing her own goal, Toffees forward Katja Snoeijs was dispossessed by Cato, who squared the ball to the unmarked Riley for the New Zealand international to score.
Everton responded almost immediately through Hayashi, with her deflected effort from range hitting the crossbar.
Visitors Everton, whose only WSL goal this season was an own goal against West Ham, levelled with their first shot on target. Hayashi, Everton’s most threatening player in the match, was picked out by Sarri's cross and guided her header past Palace goalkeeper Shae Yanez.
That equaliser, after a largely abject display, opened up the game with both sides chasing an important win.
Everton substitute Melissa Lawley forced a good save out of Yanez shortly after coming on, before Palace substitute Mille Gejl missed a chance to seal victory, her late strike stopped excellently by goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan.
A draw for Palace means they miss the chance to pull five points clear of Everton, who are still without a WSL win this season.

Women's Super League Results
Sunday 10th November 2024
West Ham United 1 (Asseyi 45+7) Leicester City 0 Venue: Chigwell Construction Stadium
Match report by Alex Brotherton, BBC Sport journalist
Viviane Asseyi scored as West Ham beat Leicester City to claim a first win in the Women’s Super League since February.
Asseyi rounded Leicester goalkeeper Janina Leitzig and slotted into the empty net in the seventh minute of first-half injury-time, ending her side's winless run in the WSL at 15 games.
West Ham were the better side in the opening 45 minutes, with Katrina Gorry running the midfield and Riko Ueki threatening with runs in behind the defence.
The breakthrough came when Ueki dropped deep in the build-up, creating space for Asseyi to run into and latch on to Manuela Pavi's well-timed through ball.
Ueki spurned a great chance when bearing down on goal midway through the second half but she stumbled under a challenge and saw her tame effort saved.
Victory moves West Ham level with Leicester on five points after seven games, although Amandine Miquel's side remain ahead on goal difference.
Leicester pushed for an equaliser during the final stages but Rehanne Skinner's side held out, having conceded an injury-time winner at Tottenham last weekend.
Manchester United 0 Aston Villa 0 Venue: Leigh Sports Village Stadium - Attendance: 3,833
Match report by Emma Smith, BBC Sport journalist at Leigh Sports Village
Marc Skinner said boos and calls for his dismissal are "part and parcel" of being Manchester United manager, following their third successive Women's Super League draw.
United’s title hopes stalled again as they were held at home by struggling Aston Villa in a game low on chances.
United had just one shot on target in nearly 104 minutes - including extensive stopage time - at Leigh Sports Village, and were grateful to goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce for a superb double save in the first half.
The stalemate follows draws with Brighton and Arsenal, and leaves United seven points behind WSL leaders Manchester City.
United were booed and there were chants of "Skinner out" at full-time - but the manager, who led the team to their first Women's FA Cup trophy last season, is undaunted.
"Part and parcel of being Manchester United manager - everyone can have their opinion," he said when asked by BBC Sport about the jeers.
"That's the job. For me, what I know is I can deliver winning football for this club. We've won the FA Cup and we are still unbeaten, and you still get that opinion which is fine by me. It doesn't deter me, it is about making sure our players are in the right space for a game of football."
Villa meanwhile remain winless in the league under new manager Robert de Pauw, with three draws and four defeats in seven games.
While this was an improved showing from Villa, they remain second bottom of the WSL and one of just two sides in the division – along with Everton - without a league win this season.
"I am a little bit sick of good performances without the three points. That frustrates me still," De Pauw told Sky Sports.
"We are doing everything. We leave no stone unturned each week but still it doesn't happen. We have to keep believing, keep the faith as Jurgen Klopp once said.
"We can fight and play good football. It is time to reward ourselves."

Group C Juventus 0 Arsenal 4 (Maanum 38, Blackstenius 75, Caldentey 80, Foord 87)
www.juventus.com/images/image/private/t_album/dev/exmjfcqbgd93rlcstrbj.jpg
Match report by Adam Millington, BBC Sport journalistArsenal maintained their stellar run of form under interim boss Renee Slegers by beating Juventus in the Women's Champions League. Frida Maanum, Stina Blackstenius, Mariona Caldentey and Caitlin Foord all scored to ensure Arsenal are now unbeaten in five matches since Slegers took over following Jonas Eidevall's resignation. They were made to toil on the road to their impressive win, with Juventus regularly causing problems for them to deal with at the back and proving dangerous on the counter-attack. Yet the Gunners always looked more promising and were finally rewarded for their attacking persistence before the break when Maanum slotted in from close range to round off an excellent passing move. Substitute Blackstenius added another with a fine solo goal, charging into the box after a pass from Caldentey before beating Pauline Peyraud-Magnin at her near post. Spain forward Caldentey made it three when she reacted quickly inside the area to send an effort past the Juventus goalkeeper, after Lina Hurtig and Foord kept a chance alive. Arsenal's goal haul was not yet complete, though, and Australia international Foord rounded off victory when she tapped in a Kyra Cooney-Cross delivery. The win means Arsenal stay second in Group C after three games, three points ahead of their third-placed Italian opponents and three points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Arsenal boss Slegers said "it is still early" but her side are happy with what they have done so far in the Champions League, with their next game in the competition at home to Juventus on Thursday, 21 November (20:00 GMT). "We all knew it wasn't going to be easy against Juventus, but we played a game of great intensity and got the result we wanted," Slegers told Uefa. "We knew we had some great game-changers on the bench and that probably made the difference." While the group stage is only at the halfway mark, the battle for second place - and qualification for the knockout stages - looks likely to be between Juventus and Arsenal, and the Gunners now have the upper hand. Group D Manchester City 2 (Blindkilde Brown 47, Fujino 80) Hammarby 0
ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/1024/cpsprodpb/9bb5/live/4feb3180-a13f-11ef-accd-1951fe8cd98c.jpg
Match report by Emily Salley, BBC Sport journalist at Joie StadiumManchester City continued their 100% start in the Women's Champions League with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Hammarby. After a frustrating first half in which the hard-working visitors limited City's chances, Gareth Taylor's side finally broke the deadlock when Laura Blindkilde Brown swept home less than two minutes after the restart. Hammarby threatened late on with Ayaka Yamas**ta called to action, a superb fingertip save keeping out a fierce strike from substitute Thea Sorbo. The Swedish side, cheered on by a raucous travelling fanbase, had their hopes crushed when Aoba Fujino's diving header nestled into the back of the net with 10 minutes remaining. The win leaves Manchester City top of Group D with nine points from their opening three group stage fixtures. The Women's Super League leaders are three points above second-placed Barcelona at the halfway point of the group stages. There were concerns for City when top scorer Khadija Shaw went down after trying to squeeze an angled effort past Anna Tamminen, with the goalkeeper catching Shaw's ankle as she smothered the chance. But the Jamaica striker returned after half-time as the hosts enjoyed a lightning-fast start to the second half with Fujino rattling the post just moments before Blindkilde Brown slotted in her first Champions League goal. As Hammarby searched for an equaliser, space opened up behind for the hosts to counter and they were rewarded for their patience with Fujino's second to seal their 10th consecutive win. Group CBayern Munich 3 Vålerenga 0 Group DBarcelona 7 St. Pölten 0

Steph Houghton returns to Manchester City with new role..by BBC Sporti.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/27/18/82964283-13245913-image-a-20_1711563861243.jpgSteph Houghton has returned to Manchester City, taking up off-field roles as club ambassador and a project officer. Former City captain Houghton retired at the end of last season after 10 years with the club. She makes history as the first female to become an official representative of the club and joins the likes of Mike Summerbee, Joleon Lescott and Shaun Wright-Phillips in the role. As club ambassador, Houghton will represent the club at matches and events around the world. In her role as project officer, the club say Houghton will "liaise and gain valuable experience with various footballing departments at the City Football Academy". "Everybody knows how much this club means to me," Houghton said. "I'm really excited to be in and around everyone again. "When you retire you miss that environment and being part of a team. If I wasn't here and part of the club still that would be a massive miss for me." i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/27/18/82964281-0-image-a-7_1711562967819.jpg

Rehanne Skinner on West Ham confidence boost and Brighton's recruitment..by Emma Sanders, BBC Sport women’s football news reporteri.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09/21/00/89929243-13875209-image-a-88_1726874560382.jpgWest Ham manager Rehanne Skinner has been speaking to the media before Saturday's Women's Super League game against Brighton at 12.30pm Here are the key lines from her news conference:On-loan Brighton defender Li Mengwen is ineligible to face her parent club this weekend so will not be in West Ham's squad. Victory over Leicester on Sunday has "elevated everybody" says Skinner, who was "really pleased" with their in-possession work. She adds: "It’s competitive [in the squad]. It makes people work really hard and we can push our levels. That showed with the confidence on the ball we had." Skinner says the "aim" is to use that win as a catalyst to move up the table and it can "give us a boost". She adds: "We want to try to get on a bit of a roll and keep that momentum going." Brighton did "a great job with their recruitment" this summer, says Skinner, who thinks the new signings have settled in quickly for their opponents. "They are moving the ball really well and creating problems for people. I think the game will be difficult but that’s not new to us," Skinner adds.

Spurs target goalkeeper Jennifer Falk in January window..by Emma Sanders, BBC Sport women’s football news reporterupload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Jennifer_Falk_%2817118553411%29.jpg/220px-Jennifer_Falk_%2817118553411%29.jpgTottenham have identified Swedish goalkeeper Jennifer Falk as a target for the January transfer window. The 31-year-old is currently at BK Hacken and she worked with Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn between 2020 and 2023 before his move to Spurs. Last week, Spurs announced goalkeeper Becky Spencer had signed a new contract that will run until June 2026. However, the club were looking for a goalkeeper during the summer transfer window after Barbora Votikova left to join Slavia Prague. They brought in West Ham's Katelin Talbert on a short-term loan until the end of the year but Falk would be seen as an experienced addition should the club make a move for her in January.

www.skysports.com/football/celtic-women-vs-chelsea-women/report/522628 Match highlightsMatch report by Amy Canavan, BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic ParkBelow-par Chelsea came from behind to narrowly overcome hearty Celtic and remain top of Group B in the Women's Champions League. Sonia Bompastor made a host of changes for the trip to Glasgow and her side were made to work hard to to maintain her 100% record as Blues boss. For the first time, Celtic Park hosted a game in the women's competition and history soon hit once more. Against the run of play, and many expectations, the Scottish champions took the lead. Murphy Agnew burst free from the Chelsea backline and latched onto a sublime, bending pass from Amy Gallacher to slot in Celtic's first group stage goal. It acted as quite the wake up call for the Super League winners and a mere six minutes later they were level as Maika Hamano wrong-footed home goalkeeper Kelsey Daugherty. Within a further four minutes, the visitors were ahead. Perseverance paid off on a clinical counter-attack and Ashley Lawrence lashed into the roof of the net to turn the first of back-to-back battle of Britain matches on its head. Onlookers would be forgiven for thinking Elena Sadiku's side would go on to suffer something of a hiding, but Celtic battled hard throughout a fluctuating second half. Lucy Ashworth-Clifford provided a threat down the left and whipped in a string of dangerous deliveries, while Daugherty produced impressive saves to keep the scoreline tight. Tight it was, but turn it Celtic could not as a stoppage-time red card for Agnes Beever-Jones came too late for them to exploit and they fell to a third consecutive defeat in their maiden group stage venture.

Alex Scott sat down with Leah Williamson to preview the north London derby v Tottenham.
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/03/29/18/69257619-0-image-a-25_1680109315708.jpg
Here are some of the topics she covered:
On Arsenal's start to the season: "It did not start how we wanted to. We have ambitions to go out and win every game that we play because that is the team that we are. Sometimes the performances were maybe better than the result and that is hard as well when you feel you are fighting against that." On the criticism Jonas Eidevall got and his exit: "It’s difficult. We are all human beings and those fans don’t know the person that he is. He was understanding of the situation that we have a job to do. It’s sad when you see someone getting attacked and you know that they are a great person. But we know how it goes and it has been the same in the men’s game for so many years." On Renee Slegers: "Renee knows us all. She has connected with everyone individually. We got into a bit of a rut with low confidence and she has just stripped it back and wants the best out of every player. It’s working. She is another Dutch manager, she is very direct and says it as it is. Ultimately we go out every week to be better than the week before. We are doing great and everything looks rosy at the minute. We have had great results and we are working really hard." On Saturday being her 150th WSL appearance: "I did not know that. It’s nice. Milestones are coming around fast. I feel I have worked very hard for every single one of them. To top it off playing against Spurs, it is my favourite fixture. My dad is Spurs, my mum is Arsenal. I know as a fan and as a player there is so much to play for. They are fiercely loyal to their club and so are we. It’s a beautiful thing."

Match report by Marissa Thomas, BBC Sport journalistFran Kirby scored late on as Brighton sealed a narrow win over West Ham in the Women's Super League. The England international got on the end of Kiko Seike's pass and her shot hit the post before nestling in the back of the net. Katrina Gorry had scored twice in five minutes to draw West Ham level, with the Hammers captain finding the net from long range on both occasions. Rachel McLauchlan scored her first goal for Brighton in the first half, latching on to a delightful flick from Kirby before cutting inside and curling her shot into the bottom corner. McLauchlan then provided an assist for Seike whose shot found the net from close range. Gorry's quick-fire double looked to have earned the Hammers a point before Kirby's decisive intervention. The result means Brighton remain third in the table while West Ham are ninth. Tottenham Hotspur 0 Arsenal 3 (Russo 2, Maanum 22, Blackstenius 66)

Match report by Tom Mallows, BBC Sport journalistArsenal continued their resurgence under interim boss Renee Slegers with a comfortable win at Tottenham in the north London derby. The in-form Gunners have now won five and drawn one in all competitions since the Dutchwoman took charge following Jonas Eidevall's resignation last month. They made a made a perfect start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Alessia Russo fired into the corner after just 63 seconds for her fifth goal of the season. Frida Maanum then capitalised on more slack defending from the hosts in the 22nd minute to drill home Arsenal's second from inside the area. Substitute Stina Blackstenius finished off a lovely flowing move to make it 3-0 midway through the second half. Despite the win Arsenal stay in fourth place, one point behind Brighton after the Seagulls beat West Ham 3-2 in Saturday's early game. Tottenham remain seventh and just four points off the bottom two after a fifth defeat in six games, conceding at least three goals in each of them.

Match report by Emma Sanders, BBC Sport women's football news reporter at Stamford BridgeChelsea went top of the Women's Super League after a significant victory over Manchester City in the first meeting of the season between the top two. It had been a cagey affair as both managers matched each other tactically until Mayra Ramirez shrugged off Alanna Kennedy to win the ball, ran at defender Alex Greenwood and coolly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ayaka Yamas**ta. It was a moment of real quality the game needed to break the deadlock in the 75th minute and Chelsea maintained their pressure, doubling their advantage when Guro Reiten curled in a second just four minutes later. The defending WSL champions have won every match in all competitions under new manager Sonia Bompastor and this was a big statement in their title defence. Gareth Taylor's side, who were without England international Lauren Hemp because of a knee injury, missed her creativity as striker Khadija Shaw was largely kept quiet. Shaw was gifted a chance in the first half when a poor back pass from Sandy Baltimore put her through on goal but the WSL's top scorer dragged her shot wide of the far post. Chelsea had enjoyed a brief spell of domination early on, creating chances, but rarely tested goalkeeper Yamas**ta until the second half. Defeat ended City's unbeaten run and moved Chelsea top with a game in hand, cementing their status as the team to beat in England.

Match report by Charlotte Coates, BBC Sport journalistEbony Salmon scored in the 94th minute to secure Aston Villa's first Women's Super League win of the season in dramatic fashion against Crystal Palace. The substitute picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box and smashed it into the top corner to send Villa Park wild. It looked as if the win had slipped through Villa fingers when Annabel Blanchard made it 2-2 in the 86th minute with a neat volley from a fine Ashleigh Weerden cross. Palace had capitalised on a fine start at Villa Park to lead in the 30th minute through My Cato, the midfielder coolly slotting home from the edge of the box. The hosts responded 10 minutes later as defender Anna Patten took two touches in the box before smashing beyond Shae Yanez. Rachel Daly then put Villa ahead with an instinctive finish in the fifth minute of first-half injury time to cap a fine turnaround. Villa started the second half with intent and Brazilian striker Gabi Nunes should have extended their lead but could only fire over the top from close range. Villa, who have won at home for the first time since a 1-0 win over Brighton in December 2023, have lifted themselves to eighth in the WSL while Palace are bottom. Match report by Emma Sanders, BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at Goodison ParkEverton beat local rivals Liverpool thanks to a controversial penalty from Katja Snoeijs to mark their final Women's Super League match at Goodison Park. Referee Abigail Byrne awarded a penalty to Everton when Fuka Nagano clipped Honoka Hayashi in the first half but the foul appeared to be outside the area. Snoeijs stepped up to take it with the 1,500 away supporters sitting nearby in the stands and she slotted it coolly past goalkeeper Teagan Micah. It burst an underwhelming Merseyside derby into life after 41 minutes and gave Everton a much-needed first WSL win of the season, moving them off the bottom of the table in the process. Liverpool's poor record in the derby continues as they have not won a WSL match at Everton since 2017 and this was another disappointing display. Matt Beard's side, who finished fourth in the league last season, have won just two of their eight matches in the WSL this campaign. For Everton, however, it was the perfect send-off at The Old Lady and could be the tonic they need to reinvigorate their season. Leicester City 0 Manchester United 2 (Terland 45+3, Bizet Ildhusøy 81)
shekicks.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Leicester-City-v-Manchester-United-Barclays-Womens-Super-League.jpg Elisabeth Terland of Manchester United scores her team’s first goal at The King Power Stadium.
Match report by Emma Smith, BBC Sport journalist at King Power StadiumElisabeth Terland and Celin Bizet scored as unbeaten Manchester United overcame Leicester City to earn their first victory in four Women's Super League games. Following three successive draws, United returned to winning ways as Terland scored deep into first-half added time. And nine minutes before the end, Norwegian Bizet capitalised on a CJ Bott mistake to slot home her first United goal after joining from Tottenham in the summer. Leicester failed to net again, and are the WSL's lowest scorers with just two goals in eight games. Amandine Miquel's side are now only outside the relegation place on goal difference. United initially struggled to break down a disciplined home side that had conceded just six goals in their first seven WSL games. They were without the injured Ella Toone, who missed the match following 96 successive league starts for United. But it was Geyse, her replacement in the starting XI, who provided the spark the side needed in the final seconds before half-time. Lively down the right all afternoon, the Brazilian winger looped a perfect cross on to the head of Terland to steer back across keeper Janina Leitzig and into the far corner for her fourth goal in three games against Leicester. Fifth-placed United should have made the game safe in the second half when Terland acrobatically volleyed a Geyse cross wide, and Dominique Janssen was denied one on one by Leitzig. But the success was sealed when defender Bott miscontrolled the ball, allowing Bizet to nip in and slot under the Leicester keeper. United's win moved them six points behind WSL leaders Chelsea, who they visit next Sunday.

VAR in the Women's Game...Everton 1 Liverpool 0
The decision raises the question once again of whether video assistant referee should be introduced in the women's game.
Everton manager Brian Sorensen said he would welcome the use of 'VAR Lite' - a system that has been trialled in youth football international tournaments.
"They can just press on a laptop then go five seconds back. For me, I don’t know why it’s not here now," he added.
"It will take so many things away because [the referees] just need that little bit of support. That’s what we do as coaches. We go back and see ‘oh, that’s clear’.
"If it’s something you have to look at from seven angles then for the joy of the game, maybe not. But if it’s clear, it will take a lot of disputes away."
Sources have told BBC Sport that Women's Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) - the company that oversees the WSL - is working with clubs to ensure that venues can provide VAR for when the board considers its introduction.
The biggest factor for VAR not existing currently is that not all venues in the WSL have the capacity to implement the technology. And there is uncertainty over whether clubs will be able to afford it.
"The money is not there for VAR. I don't know what the answer is to be honest with you. I think every manager feels the same every week," said Beard.
"[Referees] come out and tell us they will implement the rules, then they don't. I don't know whether they don't like me personally as well and whether that has an effect on my team - it could do.
"I've been booked for things when I've seen other managers get away with it. I don't know what the answer is any more, I really don't know."

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Mala Grohs diagnosed with cancer..by BBC Sportimg.fcbayern.com/image/upload/t_cms-1x191-seo/v1678098349/cms/public/images/fcbayern-com/homepage/Saison-22-23/Magazin_51/M%C3%A4rz/sofiekevanbilsen-07787_.jpgBayern Munich goalkeeper Mala Grohs has been diagnosed with cancer. The German club say the 23-year-old is out for an "indefinite period" in order to concentrate on her recovery. Bayern have agreed an early one-year contract extension with Grohs through to the summer of 2026. "The illness is a challenge that I never thought I would have to overcome," said Grohs. "But I am sure that with the help I am now getting from all sides, I will manage it and get completely healthy again." Bayern director of women's football Bianca Rech said: "The team, the coaching and support team and we as the entire FC Bayern family are firmly on Mala's side. "She will receive all of our support, which is one of the things we wanted to express with the contract extension. "We wish Mala a lot of strength and the best possible recovery from the bottom of our hearts." Grohs had made 81 appearances for Bayern since joining from VfL Bochum in 2019, winning three German titles and the German Super Cup.

Chelsea defender Kadeisha Buchanan suffers ACL injury..by BBC Sporti.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/09/23/16/62734649-0-image-a-9_1663947517443.jpgChelsea defender Kadeisha Buchanan requires surgery after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Buchanan, 29, last played for Chelsea in their Women's Super League (WSL) victory over Liverpool on 10 November. Speaking after Chelsea's statement win over title rivals Manchester City on Saturday, manager Sonia Bompastor said: "I have sad news to share with you. We found out the results this morning but she did her ACL after the Liverpool game. "I'm really sad and I didn’t want to talk about that before the game as maybe it would take all the focus. Everyone in the club is so devastated. She was performing really well. "We are going to support her as much as we can. She is strong and is OK. She will have surgery and we will have to move on." The Canada centre-back joins team-mates Mia Fishel, Sophie Ingle and Sam Kerr in suffering ACL injuries.

England's Ella Toone suffers calf injury in training..by Emma Smith, BBC Sport journalist at King Power Stadiumi.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/11/17/19/92167997-14093317-Manchester_United_and_England_forward_Ella_Toone_has_been_ruled_-a-23_1731873226375.jpgEngland midfielder Ella Toone has been ruled out of Manchester United's next two games due to a calf injury suffered in training. Toone missed out on the matchday squad for United's WSL visit to Leicester on Sunday - the first time in 96 league games she has not started for the Red Devils. United manager Marc Skinner confirmed Toone will miss their midweek visit to Everton in the League Cup and the trip to WSL leaders Chelsea next Sunday. Toone, 25, suffered the injury in Manchester United training on Friday. It means she may miss out on being in the England squad for their friendlies in the upcoming international break. "Yesterday in training Ella took a calf injury," Skinner said. "She was running and just felt something. She will miss the next two games, she will miss Everton and Chelsea, then we will speak later in the week to know the scale of it. "Potentially [she will be available for England] - we don’t know that yet." England host USA in a friendly at Wembley on 30 November and face Switzerland three days later. The news adds to the injury worries of England manager Sarina Wiegman, who will be without Lauren James for the fixtures while Lauren Hemp is a concern, having missed Manchester City's last two games through injury. United, who are fifth in the table, will hope to have Toone fit in time for their home game against Liverpool on 8 December following the international break. Toone has struggled for form this season so far, failing to score in any of the six WSL matches in which she appeared for United.
