I'm glad there's almost unanimous agreemwnt on here now that threats of violence against people who have a different point of view are completely unacceptable.

"Thousands of people who gathered in the centre of Bristol have been thanked for their "exemplary behaviour" following a week of disruption. The anti-racism demonstration was organised after it was rumoured an immigration lawyer's premises would be targeted by far-right protesters. Bristol Police Cdr Supt Mark Runacres added that the vast majority of those on West Street had shown "patience and generosity" to his officers. However, one man was arrested after a brick was thrown at a police vehicle during the rally. It was feared Bristol could see a repeat of Saturday's violent disorder, in which far-right protesters clashed with counter-protesters in the city centre and targeted a hotel housing asylum seekers." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3d9v2m8m0vo

Could be could'nt it Trymer, but it could be a few things. There's maybe a 'paper trail' back to someone or organisation that started the rumour. A lot of money must of been 'wasted' on the Police bill ,then businesses that closed for fear of possible violence lost money.Etc.

Where did the rumour come from, that the "far Right" were going to protest last night? That'll be interesting to find out. It could have come from anywhere. Nobody knows. Russia? The far left? The far right? Some internet geek in the USA? Impossible to tell. You could create a plausible justification for any of the above and others besides.

Where did the rumour come from, that the "far Right" were going to protest last night? That'll be interesting to find out. Right wing commentators like Katie Hopkins, amongst others, sent out a list of immigrant legal advisory services and times of their meetings. The original list became available on right wing websites. Not sure who composed it or obtained it, but it was accurate. Hence those opposing the riots knew where to go themselves.

I am beginning to wonder about the mental acuity of some on here Cheshire. What you stated has been in the public domain for days. The people who raised this query on source of location either ignored this fact, didn't understand what they were reading or actually thought it was ok to list targets for the right wing thugs. Either way it's not very flattering

Blatantly guilty of what, inciting a riot,or murder? Wonder what happened to that two tier legal system. You'll have to see what happens with the charge and how he pleads.

The thing is Cheshire there are lots of things happening at the moment and imo its really important that people are seen to be being dealt with in an equal way and to stick to it in the future, when people see unfairness its a cause for strife.

Come on Chesh, the man,a Labour Councillor, told people 'we have to' "cut the throats" 'of people' and he made a 'cut throat ' gesture an all. It's been filmed. So even considering the Two Tier Kier system ,they can't not at least investigate this incident. My guess is he won't get found guilty of whatever the potential crime is.Labour will sack him and he'll become an independent . I'm reminded of the Labour MP,whatshername, she threatened to acid attack somebody.Went to Court, found not guilty.Sacked by Labour.Carried on in the House as an Independent.

Last child injured in Southport stabbings released from hospital, police say..
All the children injured in last Monday's stabbings in Southport have now been discharged from hospital, Merseyside Police says, external.
The force adds the last remaining injured girl was released from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital today and will continue her recovery at home.
In a statement from the girl's family, issued by Merseyside Police, they thank the hospital for its "unwavering support and the extraordinary care".
They also thank the air ambulance team who airlifted her to hospital. "We know that their intervention saved her life," the statement reads.
The family say they are "deeply saddened by the recent disorder and the attacks on our police force" that were sparked by the stabbings last week.
"It is important to highlight that when the horrific events unfolded, our police officers were the first on the scene," the family say.
“While we are relieved that our daughter is on the path to recovery, our hearts go out to the families of Bebe, Alice, and Elsie during this immensely painful time," the statement concludes.

Woman arrested accused of sharing 'inaccurate information' about Southport attacker..
A woman has been arrested in relation to a social media post containing "inaccurate information" about the identity of the attacker in the Southport stabbings, Cheshire Police says.
The force arrested a 55-year-old woman from near Chester on Thursday on suspicion of publishing written material to stir up racial hatred and false communications.
She is currently in custody, the force says.
Chief Superintendent Alison Ross says: “We have all seen the violent disorder that has taken place across the UK over the past week, much of which has been fuelled by malicious and inaccurate communications online.
“It’s a stark reminder of the dangers of posting information on social media platforms without checking the accuracy."

"But Spofforth’s false claim rapidly spread on social media after being shared by Russian outlet RT and Andrew Tate. It gained an estimated 27million impressions in a single day, according to disinformation researcher Marc Owen Jones, an associate professor at Doha’s Hamid bin Khalifa University. A riot broke out after a vigil in Southport the following day, with a mosque being a primary target of the violence." metro.co.uk/2024/08/08/woman-first-shared-fake-southport-suspect-rumour-sparked-riots-arrested-21389346/
