I wonder why some would even bother to write that nonsense Baldrick, there appears to be a detachment from reality Wishful thinking? I had a friend who had a licence, the number of hoops he had to jump through and safety precautions needed were numerous. As soon as he started showing signs of depression it was taken away. Identical situation with my own brother

Let's hope Britons don't turn towards getting a gun to do the job our authorities should be doing.
Not forgetting the black market as a way of purchasing a gun.

Parents, children,Military Officers, women, you ,me etc. We're more or less on our own. The authorities do not protect us. When you leave your home to go about your daily life ,it's become a lottery whether you make it home safely. Don't make the mistake of thinking the current Government ( like the last ) will protect you. They won't. The trajectory our country is on is one of bloody violence. I never go out now without my pitchfork in order to fend off those dastardly women in Waitrose on a Wednesday afternoon. 😂😂😂 Some think your behind the times in your thinking..but 1685 is just tad out

Under 18 years old so in theory won't be named. And Starmer wants to give 16yr olds the vote.

Under 18 years old so in theory won't be named. And Starmer wants to give 16yr olds the vote. I think Labour put the brakes on this stupid idea after the recent EU elections across Europe. In many countries, the young vote went to the parties on the Right. The assumption that young voters would vote for the Left didn't quite ring true. This trend surprised many and in my opinion is why Labour dropped it as policy. If giving 16 year old's the right to vote was the right thing to do, then it should be done. However, it is obvious politicians see this policy just as a way to get more votes for themselves, so in reality, it is not the right thing to do is it !

When the LEGAL age of consent is 16, and some kids are not that mature to even have thoughts about any sort of sexual activities...the very idea that anyone should think about putting those same 'kids' on the electoral roll is just nuts

Indeed. This kind of thing can get dangerous when rumours of illegal asylum seekers being responsible for this tragic event spread across the internet. But to balance things out, what happens if it was done by a person with a migrant,or Islamic background even if he was born here? Will that be swept under the carpet and dismissed as normal? Just want balance. Then they should feel the same weight of the law as anyone else here. What if they are an second generation immigrant and Christian or atheist, would or should that make a difference? When faith has been an issue I have never heard of that being omitted from court cases. Otherwise how would you know about their faith in such cases and write about it on here?

Taylor Swift says 'horror washing over me continuously'Taylor Swift has just released a tribute in a post on Instagram. "The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I'm just completely in shock," she writes. "The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. "These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families." ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/7/30/4377c842-8738-445d-b496-f484b12466c9.jpg

The BBC reports that the 17-year-old currently being questioned by the police in connection with the attack in Southport was born in Cardiff and moved to the Southport area in 2013.
His parents are from Rwanda and he has an older brother who was also born in Cardiff.

A spokesperson from Merseyside said: "Sadly we can confirm that a third child has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a knife attack in Southport yesterday morning, Monday 29 July. "The nine-year-old girl died in hospital in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 30 July. We can confirm that the children who died yesterday were girls aged six and seven years. "Eight other children suffered stab wounds sustained during the attack, and five of them are in a critical condition. Two adults are also in a critical condition after being injured during the incident. "Our specialist Family Liaison Officers are providing support to the families at this terrible time. Yesterday, officers arrested a 17-year-old male from Banks and he remains in police custody. "A name has been shared on social media in connection with the suspect in the incident in Southport. This incident is not currently being treated as terror-related and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it. "Anyone who witnessed anything, or who has information that could help our investigation can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. "Victim Care officers will be at the Community Support Centre set up at Southport FC from 10am-6pm today to support those affected. Unverified rumours about the attack circulate online..By Shayan Sardarizadeh
Almost immediately after the deadly stabbing attack in Southport, baseless rumours began spreading online.
While police and emergency services were still responding to the attack, a widely shared LinkedIn post claimed without evidence that "a migrant" was responsible.
But the most viral source of rumours so far has been a report published on an obscure US-based website which claims to cover "breaking news".
The report falsely claims that that the 17-year old suspect is an "asylum seeker" named "Ali Al-Shakati", who "arrived in the UK by boat last year".
Merseyside Police has confirmed that the suspect was born in Cardiff, and has yet to identify the 17-year-old.
The report also adds that the suspect was "on the MI6 watch list", despite the fact that it is MI5, not MI6, that deals with domestic counter-terrorism cases.
The name "Ali Al-Shakati" has since been widely shared online in posts viewed by millions.
Some other outlets, including Russia's RT news channel, have also reported this name, citing the US-based website.
Other variations of the report, including the claim that the suspect was a "Channel migrant", have also been widely circulated.

It's a foreign Muslim name that fits this kind of crime.

I can reliably report that the perpetrators name was Frankie Jones, born in Cardiff of Welsh mining stock, originally from Ebbw Vale.
This information is freely available on a YouTube channel...
I thought I would post up complete BS from a viewpoint as a counter to the complete BS already posted on here.
The usual suspects really need to get a grip
