It makes your blood boil reading about the attack on this 80 year old man out walking his dog.. What is wrong with these young children to act like that, teasing maybe, but murder... Again, it goes back to the biggest point about how the mindset in this country has somehow accepted that this is now the Norm. And it's not, nor should it be.

Leicester 'murder': Dog walker, 80, 'kicked to death by gang of kids' named as tributes pour in..By Martin Fricker, Senior Reporter & Matt Clemenson, News Editor
i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33591624.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_Screenshot-2024-09-03-at-142023.jpg Bhim Kholi has been identified as the man killed by an alleged attack in a Leicestershire parkAn 80-year-old man allegedly killed by a group of young children in a UK park has been named as by neighbours as Bhim Kohli, 80, a father of three and grandad of two. Leicestershire Police have launched a murder investigation after the elderly man died in hospital due to injuries he sustained in Franklin Park in Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, at around 6.30pm on Sunday. The attack is believed to have happened around 6.30pm, close to the park entrance in Bramble Way. It is reported the victim, who was walking his dog, was wearing a black jumper and grey jogging bottoms and was seriously assaulted by a group of young people. They left the scene prior to emergency services arriving. Neighbour Deep Kaila told the Mirror: “I’ve known him for 35 years, we were good friends. “His family are devastated. He was a skinny, fit man who was always at the allotment across the road from his house. He has two boys and a daughter, all grown up, and two grandsons. He had a factory in Leicester making jumpers and cardigans but retired many years ago. It’s tragic what happened." Before he died, Mr Kohli's daughter told the Leicester Mercury: "He had been taking the dog for a walk. They pushed him, they kicked him in the neck, kicked him in the spine. "He was about 30 seconds away from getting home. He's always been very active - he has three allotments. We've lived here for 40 years." A neighbour told the Sun: "I heard a commotion outside and he was lying in the park, screaming in pain. He said he was violently pushed over." His wife was being comforted by sons Baul and Varinder and daughter Susan. Detective Inspector Emma Matts, senior investigating officer for Leicestershire Police, said: “Sadly, following the death of the victim last night, this has now become a murder investigation. “Officers are continuing to work at speed to establish the details of the attack and we have made a number of arrests as we continue to understand what has happened. “We still need people who were in the area to come forward if they have seen anything or have any information which could assist. Were you in the area of Franklin Park or Bramble Way around 6.30pm on Sunday night? Did you see the attack itself? From the description given did you see the victim before the incident or possibly a group of young people leaving the area after? “A scene preservation will remain in place at the park while our investigation progresses. Local officers are also in the area carrying out reassurance patrols and can speak to anyone in the local community who has concerns.” Due to prior police contact with the victim, the force will be making a voluntary referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).

The name Bhim has Hindu origins.
12 and 14 year olds beat and kicked him to death.God rest his soul.
Braunstone Town mainly indigenous Britons in a population of about 16,000.
Other religions than Christian are represented,Hindu eg.
Goodness knows, this kind of murder is quite rare,is'nt it?

Update: Victim of park attack died from neck injury - police..by Rebecca Sherdley, BBC News, East Midlands
An 80-year-old man who was attacked in a Leicestershire park died from a neck injury, police say.
Bhim Kohli was walking his dog at Franklin Park in Braunstone Town on Sunday evening when he was assaulted. He died later in hospital.
A 14-year-old boy remains in police custody being questioned on suspicion of murder. Four other children have been released without further action.
Police say a post-mortem examination confirmed Mr Kohli had died as a result of a neck injury.
Detectives say they are continuing their inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They continue to appeal for anyone who was in the area of the park or Bramble Way between 18:00 and 18:45 to come forward.
Det Insp Emma Matts said the circumstances surrounding Mr Kohli’s death were "extremely tragic and upsetting", not only for his family and friends but also the wider community.

Man who set fire to asylum seeker hotel handed longest sentence yet for UK riots, 9 years..by Oli Constable reporting from Sheffield Crown Courtichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/1024/cpsprodpb/cd8c/live/3c0c97b0-6c26-11ef-b970-9f202720b57a.jpgThe Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson KC, has returned to the court room here in Sheffield. Thomas Birley, sat in the dock, is about to hear his sentence, for taking part in violence outside a hotel in Rotherham last month. He has already admitted arson with intent to endanger life, the first count on the charge sheet. “You must listen with great care to what I am about to say,” Judge Richardson says. “The maximum sentence for the first count is life imprisonment.” “This case is unquestionably one of the worst of the many cases which have come before this court that have concerned the events of the Holiday Inn Express hotel in Rotherham on Sunday 4th August 2024,” Judge Jeremy Richardson KC tells the court. After starting peacefully, the protests soon turned into violence with chants directed towards the asylum seekers living in the hotel at the time. “It was a desire to perpetrate mob rule and commit very serious criminal offences in the process,” the judge adds. “From first to last, the venom of racism infected the entirety of what occurred.” During the violence, 64 police officers were injured, including a number of animals used by police forces at the scene, we are told by the judge. “Each one of those officers was doing his or her duty to maintain order in very difficult circumstances,” he adds, praising the work of the police. “Those in the hotel were terrified by what was happening outside,” Judge Richardson says. “They were in peril of being killed or seriously injured. You intended to endanger the lives of them all.” "I have now watched much recorded CCTV and recorded footage of events,” Judge Richardson now tells Birley. He is listening to the sentencing alongside a dock officer, which his hands placed on his knees, looking straight forward. “It is clear as clear could be, you and many like you were intent on spreading a hateful message of violence and racism. “You were well to the fore in all of this,” Judge Richardson adds. We hear how Birley was part of a “mob” who smashed windows on the lower floor of the hotel. “The disorder was grotesque.” Birley threw a large bin at riot police, we hear in court. It happened after he had picked up a police baton and “took a fighting stance” at the police line. A photo from a journalist on the day shows Birley, at the front of the violence, holding the black baton. “You were at the front of the crowd when you waved the item towards officers in a very threatening way," Judge Richardson says. Birley has highly relevant previous convictions, including criminal damage, attacking emergency workers, and racially aggravated harassment, the court hears. The 27-year-old, of Swinton, had previously been sentenced for some of those offences, the court is told. A pre-sentence report had views which “raised alarm” with a probation officer, the judge says. There were hints of a “white supremacist mindset”, Judge Richardson adds. Birley has been jailed for nine years for taking part in a riot in Rotherham on 4th August – the highest prison sentence handed out by judges following widespread violence and rioting. He was part of a group which helped smash windows at the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers and added wood to a fire against the building, which housed asylum seekers. Birley, 27, of Swinton, Rotherham, previously pleaded guilty to a charge of arson with intent to endanger life, violent disorder, and possessing an offensive weapon. At Sheffield Crown Court, the Recorder of Sheffield Judge Jeremy Richardson KC said: “You are unquestionably a dangerous offender.” His sentence is nine years in prison, with a five-year extension on licence.

Knife wholesaler surrenders 35,000 'zombie' blades..by Ben Schofield, BBC News, Bedfordshirei2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33377176.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_Teenager-armed-with-a-knife.jpgA knife wholesaler whose weapons have been used in several killings has surrendered more than 35,000 "zombie" blades. Police said the knives and machetes were designed to "kill and maim". Under a government surrender scheme Luton-based Sporting Wholesale will receive £10 compensation for each knife. Supt Alex House, who leads on knife crime for Bedfordshire Police, said the knives and machetes had "no other use" than as weapons. "There’s no other practical use for them," he told the BBC. "If you look at the design... the purpose is to kill and maim." Zombie knives were first banned in 2016 but a new, broader definition, external designed to outlaw more blades will take effect in England and Wales on 24th September. From then it will be illegal to own a knife with a sharpened blade longer than 8in (20cm), if it also has other features, including: A serrated cutting edge, More than one hole in the blade, Spikes, More than two sharp points in the blade The weapons will be shredded and their metal recycled by a specialist company. Mr House added that it was a "horrific amount of knives". "The fact that we have now got them all here and they are going to be destroyed will absolutely save lives." The move followed press coverage the previous month of the sentencing of Rayis Nibeel and an accomplice for the murder of Omar Khan in Luton. In 2023 Nibeel had bought 79 knives and machetes from DNA Leisure despite being only 16. He used a family member's ID to buy the blades online over 13 separate transactions. DNA Leisure said that Nibeel had committed "fraud" and the company had used an "age-verified courier" to make the deliveries. The knife that killed Mr Khan was sold as part of a pair by DNA Leisure, which described them as the "Anglo Arms bayonet style fixed blade knife set". In April this year, a similar set was being sold for £29.95 by DNA. Si Philbert, a youth practitioner with Wingman Mentors and St Giles Trust, said while the new ban was "not enough" it was "a start" and "overdue". Wingman works with Bedfordshire's Home Office-funded Violence and Exploitation Reduction Unit to try to prevent knife crime. "If zombie knives didn’t exist," Mr Philbert, 49, added, "we’d still have a problem with knife crime." Mr Philbert said "nine times out of 10" young people carry knives out of fear. He said he encouraged young people to "change their environment" from a "war zone" to a "safer space... where they don’t feel like they need to protect themselves". "If you can prevent them from picking up a knife in the first place, it’s better than just banning the knives." The zombie knife surrender scheme is open until the end of 23rd September.

Stephen Lawrence murder suspect Luke Knight walks carefree to the shops just a mile away from scene of racist 1993 killing - days before teenager would have turned 50

Luke Knight, 47, was seen outside a newsagent's at Eltham in South East London, around a mile from the bus stop where Stephen was stabbed aged 18 in 1993. Knight, who still lives in the area, was arrested and charged with murder at the time before it was dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service due to lack of evidence. He was tried for murder in 1996 after a private prosecution brought by Stephen's parents but the judge told the jury to acquit him after further issues with evidence. The roofer, who has always maintained his innocence, remains the only one of the original five suspects in Stephen's case who does not have a criminal conviction. Since then how many other lads have been stabbed to death on the street in London? must be thousands ,blacks stabbed by whites, whites by blacks and the biggest group blacks by other blacks yet apart from one called Damidola I dont know any other names of victims (and I only remember Damidola because its an unusual name). Why does the Stephen Lawrence case still get publicity and yet all these other cases get ignored ?..we had an horrific double murder in Bristol earlier this year which seems forgotten, although it got a couple of weeks news coverage at the time I cant remember the 2 lads names now . Have we become de-sensitised to all these killings because there are so many of them ?

You know "Damidola" so well you don't know the spelling? Stephen Lawrence was a watershed moment that's why.

This 'zombie knife' ban is just a headline grabber, kitchen drawers are full of deadly knives, with a grindsone, vice and file any teenager could make a machete type knife in an hour, they are tinkering at the edges almost pretending to be doing something to stop this knife crime/ gangster lifestyle. Would you prefer there wasn't an amnesty and they remained available foe sale?
