Yes ,knife crime should be treated as a nation emergency,however we all know that the prisons are already full,the Police could stop,search and arrest dozens every night for carrying knives but what do they do with them then ?
Sadly these stabbings have ceased to be "shocking" because they happen so often,its terrrible but we have become desensitised.

A 32-year-old mother and a man who were attacked in separate incidents during the Notting Hill Carnival weekend have died, police said.

Cher Maximen, who was with her three-year-old daughter when she was stabbed on Sunday, died in hospital on Saturday morning, it was confirmed.

Mussie Imnetu, who worked as a chef and had been visiting London from Dubai, was found unconscious on Monday evening near Notting Hill, also died from his injuries on Friday, police said.

Metropolitan Police Commander Charmain Brenyah said the deaths had been "devastating for both families" and they were both now being treated by the force as murder investigations.

Notting Hill Carnival's organisers said it was "shocked by these tragic deaths".

”We stand together against all violence and condemn these acts, which are against all carnival values and the millions of people who come in celebration of them,” a spokesperson said.

The Met previously said Ms Maximen was attacked shortly before 18:00 BST on Sunday.

Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday that she had tried to intervene in a fight and was stabbed.

Speaking outside New Scotland Yard on Saturday afternoon, Cdr Brenyah said Ms Maximen's daughter was being supported.

“The news of Cher’s tragic death is devastating for her family, the wider community and all those involved in delivering the Notting Hill Carnival," she added.

Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed to death at his home.

The youngster died after he was attacked at Lovett Avenue, Oldbury, at about 16:00 BST on Thursday, West Midlands Police said.

The pair were arrested on Sunday and taken into custody for questioning.

Dozens of bunches of flowers, candles and teddies were laid outside the home to pay tribute to the teenager, who has not yet been named.

"The boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder," a force spokesperson said.

They added the victim's family were aware of the arrests.

"Our thoughts remain with them at this devastating time," they said.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the boy received treatment from paramedics on Thursday but died at the scene.

An online portal was set up to allow people to send in information, pictures or video directly to investigating officers, police said.

Bouquets of flowers were left outside the house and one woman collapsed in tears after she left her tribute on the doorstep.

Local officers and youth workers were due to be in the area over the next few days to address any concerns from residents.

Last year, the West Midlands had the highest rate of knife offences in England and Wales.

One woman, who had lived on the estate for more than 30 years, said she was "shocked" after finding out the victim was teenager.

“It’s just getting worse," she said of knife crime in the region.

Lucy Connolly, the wife of a Tory councillor, has pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to publishing a social media post which stirred up racial hatred.

The 41-year old called for mass deportations and attacks on hotels housing asylum seekers in a post on X on the day three girls were killed in Southport.

"Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the bas***** for all I care... If that makes me racist, so be it," the post read.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has just released a statement after Lucy Connolly admitted inciting racial hatred.

Frank Ferguson, head of the CPS special crime and counter terrorism unit, says: “During police interview Lucy Connolly stated she had strong views on immigration, told officers she did not like immigrants and claimed that children were not safe from them.

"It is not an offence to have strong or differing political views, but it is an offence to incite racial hatred – and that is what Connolly has admitted doing.

"The prosecution case included evidence which showed that racist tweets were sent out from Mrs Connolly’s X account both in the weeks and months before the Southport attacks – as well as in the days after.

"Connolly wrongly thought that she could escape justice by hiding behind a screen, but today she has pleaded guilty and admitted her crime. She will now face the consequences of her actions."

She will be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 17th October.

Judge Adrienne Lucking KC told Lucy Connolly she's likely to be sent to jail when she is sentenced next month.

The judge said the case was being transferred from Northampton to Birmingham to avoid any potential appearance of bias given Connolly's husband held a political post in the local area.

Judge Lucking said: "Sentencing will entirely be a matter for the judge on the next occasion but it's likely to be a substantial custodial sentence.

"In the meantime, you are remanded in custody."

Raymond Connolly, a Conservative councillor in West Northamptonshire, watched from the public gallery in court as his wife, Lucy Connolly, pleaded guilty to publishing threatening or abusive material intending to stir up racial hatred.

Connolly, a 41-year-old childminder of Parkfield Avenue, Northampton, entered her guilty plea via a video-link from Peterborough prison.

Connolly spoke only to enter her plea and confirm that she could hear the judge during the hearing, which lasted seven minutes.

We can bring you some reaction now from Raymond Connolly, the Conservative councillor whose wife Lucy pleaded guilty to publishing a social media post stirring up racial hatred earlier today.

Speaking outside court, Raymond Connolly says the last few weeks have been "quite traumatic" for his wife and children, and he now feels "kind of relieved".

Connolly says his wife regrets making the post, which she deleted within two hours, and that she is "the opposite" of a racist.

She was an "upset housewife" posting about what transpired to be misinformation about the Southport stabbings, he says.

Connolly, a Conservative councillor in Northamptonshire, says he has received support from residents asking him not to resign and from fellow councillors, adding "it's not affected my role".

"The stuff I hear on the TV is not really Lucy. She knows that she overstepped the mark and there is consequences for it. Hopefully she'll be able to learn from this and move on with her life" Raymond Connolly.

My personal opinion, you don't just do that act he did without being radicalized in some way.

I think in, 5 or 10 years the truth will come out about this monster and his inspiration that day.

But by then, it will be too late and all will be forgotten ..
