Some interesting comments on the BBC HYS: "Barton turned Fleetwood into a team of thugs that kicked their way around the pitch and he's bang on schedule doing the same thing at rovers. It's a shame because they always bring a good crowd to Fratton and their fans deserve better". "I think Bristol Rovers and football in general would be better off without the likes of Joey Barton. From what I've read it seems like he has been given plenty of opportunities to learn from his mistakes but hasn't". "Barton needs to be gone! He's just a violent thug". "The team is a reflection of the manager. If the manager condones violence that's what his players provide". "Another excellent team effort (Portsmouth), a good 3 points against a bunch of thugs who want to kick their way to a win". "A superb game ruined by the thuggish behaviour of Barton's team. But what else should we expect from a thug". Unbelievable comments about our team. There is no way that we are ‘thuggish’. We certainly play with passion and are no longer a pushover as we have been in previous times but we are not a dirty team. Outrageous nonsense. I was surprised at the Pompey fans comments - and I'm well aware that the BBC HaveYourSay does indeed have HYSterical, biased comment. However I don't think I've ever seen such vitriol. I'm all for playing with passion, and it's good that we are no longer seen as a pushover. Perhaps Rovers are pushing the boundaries on this though. 1. Rovers had the second worst disciplinary record in League 2. Currently 20th out of 24 in League 1. 2. A combination of this, and with "colourful character" Barton as manager may well mean that referees are coming into games with a pre-conception about how Rovers will play.

"This is 'Have Your Say' from BBC News, where we offer you a platform to debate key stories in the news." - BBC "...key stories in the news..." 🤣🤣 . . .
A third division footballer commits a foul. Hold the front page!
Now it has been said that it’s a double leg break so i guess that is newsworthy. I feel very sorry for the player and anyone who gets injured. I have never heard of a tackle that ended up with a double leg break though, not sure if that means two breaks of one leg or both legs, anyone know more, please ? Double fibula break. www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2022/august/thompson-suffers-double-fibula-break/

Thanks. Awful thing to happen and especially when it affects your living wage. I wish him all the very best They seem to think that he will be back playing by Christmas, here's hoping that the recovery goes as well as expected.
