The sarcasm is directed at JB and even though bluetornados doesn’t comment on the articles it’s often something I at least wouldn’t have picked up on if it wasn’t posted here. I suppose FourFourTwo must be the modern equivalent of Football Monthly or Shoot in our day ? How many Gasheads reading this stuff come to the conclusion it’s all about him, and Rovers suffer because of that, but they are too timid to say anything ? . Fair enough I keep hearing about this Conor McGregor chap and when looking him up found he employs a public relations and crisis management firm called Kessler to look after his affairs. JB isn’t a world champion at anything but it wouldn’t surprise me if he had someone similar working for him. People may believe he’s such a major football influencer that the media are falling over themselves to get him to say something newsworthy but it may well be that his eccentric views are being pushed around aggressively by his agents. At the moment they are sustaining sufficient interest to keep him in the spotlight but that could change very quickly and the first indication might be when his facile outpourings start to get challenged. With the size of your budget is coming 17th really delivering a good result Joey ? If you’re not affected by the pressure and don’t let yourself feel too down when things go wrong what is it that makes you get into so much trouble ? Give us some examples of where you’ve used Jungian philosophy to good effect. Why do you think those with working class roots possess little empathy ?

Just for my favourite Bobolyn in case he/she fell asleep...
Joey Barton says football ‘isn’t real pressure’ as he reveals the Jungian philosophy he leans on to understand and improve his players..by Ryan Dabbs.ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/5C6E/production/_129326632_shutterstock_editorial_13865025fk.jpgJoey Barton has been involved in professional football for over 20 years, firstly as a player when he made his Manchester City debut in 2002 and now as a manager at Bristol Rovers. While he is expected to deliver results for the Gasmen, something he duly managed in the 2022/23 season as he led Rovers to 17th in their return to League One, Barton claims there are much worse things he could be dealing with in life than having a chairman demanding wins on the pitch. “I’m like, ‘This isn’t real pressure. We’re privileged to play sport for a living, so don’t get too down because you’ve not played well – it’s better than working on a building site’, or countless other jobs I’d be doing if I hadn’t made it as a player," Barton tells FourFourTwo. "You’re always trying to find the keys to unlock different personalities. Everybody is different, you just have to treat everyone in a bespoke way.” The 40-year-old, who has developed a fascination with psychology in recent years, points to the ways he tries to motivate and improve the players he manages, focusing primarily on a book handed to him that has seemingly influenced his approach. “This was a book given to me by Peter Kay from the Sporting Chance clinic, based on Carl Jung and the Jungian philosophy, the development of the mind,” Barton says. “It’s the spark that made me want to understand myself better. Once you understand yourself, it gives you the chance to understand other people. Most of my job now is understanding people, helping them to improve themselves. “Some managers are more stick, some are more carrot – the main thing is to be authentic. “If you try to be firm but are putting it on, players will see straight through it. I’m a very truthful person – I have a tricky communicating style because I’m a blunt speaker and naturally lower on empathy than most, but that’s my working-class roots." And... What is your opinion on that which you have copied and pasted? Might, perhaps, be interesting? 1. If bluetornados had not made the time and effort to c&p this, I would have missed it. I only look at this Forum for 'news'. Gaschat makes me feel unclean. The EvilPost prints what they are told to by Bristol Rovers FC and makes The Sun look like they have some kind of journalistic integrity. 2. As for Barton's latest ramblings. Jesus Christ. He manages to continue to raise the bar on his own gobsh!tery. Gobsh!te. Gobsh!te. Gobsh!te.

Thanks for posting bluetornados. If James Wilson decides not to sign perhaps Carl Jung would be an alternative ? He might help JB to deliver 16th place. 😂

I appreciate bluetornados posts as I would not otherwise be aware of some of this stuff as I don't generally seek Rovers related info outside of this and the other forum. Are you suggesting you post uninformed opinion? In the words of Jim Moi( Reeves and Mortimer) you wouldn’t let it lie

Yes, being working class has nothing to do with empathy and to suggest so is misdirection at the very least. Some of us were raised well, the mistakes were our own fault

Les, i know this kind of thing isn’t for everyone but some of us have started to quite like the trip down memory lane. Isn’t the best policy that if you have nothing to add then not to post at all. Just trying to be polite mate, just don’t see why you would have a dig. Not like there is much to read of late, anyway. Good morning buy the way Good morning Generally I agree of course, and these days I ignore most of what Blue Tornado copies and pastes onto this forum. The original I quoted was just inordinately long and a repeat of an off discussed topic. But here is the rub. Why bother copy and pasting from media outlets articles from a range of topics, from murder and stabbings through to football, when in so doing no opinion or comment is made? This is a discussion forum where members offer up their opinions/comments, occasionally providing media copy to back up the same. Blue Tornado never does, it's just copy and paste of what is already out there and freely available to everyone. If you look across all the sub sections they are littered (I would say clogged) with his/her posts as examples of this. Does this add value to any discussion taking place? I would argue the opposite is the case. I am not for a second suggesting that he/she doesn't have the right to do so, but equally I am free to point out that if he/she does this without offering an opinion or comment the posts add, in general, no value to any discussion taking place. In fact they just clog up discussion. Just my opinion and I am sure many will disagree. Discuss Ok, fair enough, as Oldie has got up this very morning at about 4am to yet again have another jibe at one of my other postings i will explain why i do bother... I absolutely love spending time and effort to seek out the latest political, sporting or other news items of the day and informing others if they wish to read them. Most of my stuff posted is copy and paste, i never thought this would be such an issue that it offends some so very deeply, this is my bad. I start up many threads on all manner of topics and i do comment on lots of my own and other members threads too. Lots of the threads i have started or contribute to have got many 1000's of hits, meaning people do read them IMO. I do not know anyone personally on this forum, but it feels like i know quite a few of you through reading all manner of topics. I love to research and relaying information, i did it for many years in a past life, it's a purpose to get up everyday in dealing with adversity.. The resolve has waned a little bit and if this forum is clogged up with my unwanted posts then, again, this is my very bad.. Anyway, Toodle-pip to one and all.....

Good post (apart the jibe about my waking time) It's good to understand the motivation and now we do. It does put things into context. However given your well articulated response it would be great if we also read your thoughts on the topics you post on. After all this is a discussion forum and not a newsreel. There a is a paucity of well articulated viewpoints on this forum and it's clear you could add value. With that, enough from me on this.

Can you find any interview given by Eddy Jennings or statement attributed to him since he has been at Rovers ? Now there is a task 🤭🤭 One can’t help thinking “ is it me, am I so much out of touch but just can’t see it ?” Then you carry out a top to bottom review of yourself and conclude “ no it’s not me it’s bl**dy Rovers”. Can there be any other organization anywhere in the world where the head of its mainstream operation, the reason for its very existence (football) never ever speaks ?

I reckon Eddy is often poised to speak. But he can't get a word in edge ways as our resident part-time philosopher / manager is busy delivering his latest stream of (un)consciousness.

You must remember Eddy was the leading character witness of his best mate who murdered an off duty policeman. Rovers chief scout Spendlove was an accused accomplice in the murder case. We are dancing with the fishes here, would any other club in the UK employ people like these two or their benefactor Barton the son of God !

Ok, fair enough, as Oldie has got up this very morning at about 4am to yet again have another jibe at one of my other postings i will explain why i do bother... Anyway, Toodle-pip to one and all..... please, do not feel any need to rationalise your posts, i like them as do other. Do not leave, it would be a huge shame if you did and don’t let ONE poster get you down. Block button my friend, remember that Thank you KP for your support..BT
