He doesn't specify whether he fella sleep as a result of reading that crap, or whether he fella sleep in the course of reading that crap. In any event we may assume that he established its crappiness before fallinga sleep, which in my book is fairy nough.

Fell asleep reading that crap Just in case you missed it by dozing off....Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton will serve a three-match ground ban at the start of next season after being found guilty by the Football Association over misconduct charges. Barton was charged with three misconduct breaches by the FA following Bristol Rover match against Sheffield Wednesday in April. The 40-year-old was shown a red card during Rovers 2-1 defeat in the League One match. Barton admitted the offences during a hearing. 'The manager admitted his behaviour after being sent off was improper; and that he subsequently used abusive, insulting and improper words towards a match official in both the tunnel and match official's changing room,' an FA statement read. 'An Independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions following a hearing and its written reasons will be published in due course. 'The three match ground ban will apply to first-team competitive fixtures next season.' Barton will be prevented from entering the stadium for Rovers opening three matches. He has also been hit with a £3,000 fine. According to Bristol Live, the League One club plan to appeal against the sanction. Barton had criticised the officials following the match over the decision to rule out John Marquis's goal for offside. His red card reportedly followed touchline protests at the decision, having watched the goal back on pitch-side monitors. That is factually incorrect. He was not even booked until some time after that incident when Collins was fouled right in front of him on 87 mins. He was then actually sent off at some point after the game finished between the pitch and the players tunnel.

'You are reliant on the officials to get major decisions right and, unfortunately, tonight the linesman has had a guess, as they do at the level,' Barton said post-match. 'I was worried when I saw that referee, every time I get him he does something barmy, that ref. 'I'm not really putting that on his toes, the linesman has only got one job to do and it's disappointing when they guess.' Barton was previously given a two-match touchline ban and £2,000 fine over his conduct towards a match official when he was Fleetwood Town manager back in 2020. He avoided an FA charge in 2021 over an 'incorrect analogy' having comparing Bristol Rovers' poor performance against Newport County to the Holocaust. Rovers finished in mid-table in their first season back in League One, after Barton had guided the club to promotion the previous year. Ummmm..was I quoting that diatribe?

Fell asleep reading that crap I got to the point where Coburn and Marquis were described as successful signings and wondered whether the article was from the Pravda sports section. If the goal ratio for a main striker of about one in four games is now hailed as successful I suppose Tom Nichols must be the Erling Haaland of League 2 ? And the James Piercy piece about possibly signing James Wilson from Plymouth is straight out of the Goebbels handbook. Wilson is just the kind of player Rovers need because of his consistency and good injury record but why does Bristol Live treat Gasheads like children by embellishing the story with lines about “ stealing him from under the noses of the League 1 Champions “ and “ a major coup for Rovers and Joey Barton” ? If the transfer goes through it would be nothing more than a sensible move for both parties with Wilson moving closer to his home base and Rovers getting the defensive experience and stability we need. But the local media appear to have been launched on a mission to deceive and you have to wonder what it is they are trying to divert attention away from.

Good morning buy the way Good morning Generally I agree of course, and these days I ignore most of what Blue Tornado copies and pastes onto this forum. The original I quoted was just inordinately long and a repeat of an off discussed topic. But here is the rub. Why bother copy and pasting from media outlets articles from a range of topics, from murder and stabbings through to football, when in so doing no opinion or comment is made? This is a discussion forum where members offer up their opinions/comments, occasionally providing media copy to back up the same. Blue Tornado never does, it's just copy and paste of what is already out there and freely available to everyone. If you look across all the sub sections they are littered (I would say clogged) with his/her posts as examples of this. Does this add value to any discussion taking place? I would argue the opposite is the case. I am not for a second suggesting that he/she doesn't have the right to do so, but equally I am free to point out that if he/she does this without offering an opinion or comment the posts add, in general, no value to any discussion taking place. In fact they just clog up discussion. Just my opinion and I am sure many will disagree. Discuss

This does Bristol Rovers no favours. 2. 17th is mid-table? Looks like bottom third to me ('top' of the bottom third, but bottom third nevertheless). But if Pravda says it's mid-table, then mid-table it must be.

Joey Barton says football ‘isn’t real pressure’ as he reveals the Jungian philosophy he leans on to understand and improve his players..by Ryan Dabbs.ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/5C6E/production/_129326632_shutterstock_editorial_13865025fk.jpgJoey Barton has been involved in professional football for over 20 years, firstly as a player when he made his Manchester City debut in 2002 and now as a manager at Bristol Rovers. While he is expected to deliver results for the Gasmen, something he duly managed in the 2022/23 season as he led Rovers to 17th in their return to League One, Barton claims there are much worse things he could be dealing with in life than having a chairman demanding wins on the pitch. “I’m like, ‘This isn’t real pressure. We’re privileged to play sport for a living, so don’t get too down because you’ve not played well – it’s better than working on a building site’, or countless other jobs I’d be doing if I hadn’t made it as a player," Barton tells FourFourTwo. "You’re always trying to find the keys to unlock different personalities. Everybody is different, you just have to treat everyone in a bespoke way.” The 40-year-old, who has developed a fascination with psychology in recent years, points to the ways he tries to motivate and improve the players he manages, focusing primarily on a book handed to him that has seemingly influenced his approach. “This was a book given to me by Peter Kay from the Sporting Chance clinic, based on Carl Jung and the Jungian philosophy, the development of the mind,” Barton says. “It’s the spark that made me want to understand myself better. Once you understand yourself, it gives you the chance to understand other people. Most of my job now is understanding people, helping them to improve themselves. “Some managers are more stick, some are more carrot – the main thing is to be authentic. “If you try to be firm but are putting it on, players will see straight through it. I’m a very truthful person – I have a tricky communicating style because I’m a blunt speaker and naturally lower on empathy than most, but that’s my working-class roots."

Discuss I appreciate bluetornados posts as I would not otherwise be aware of some of this stuff as I don't generally seek Rovers related info outside of this and the other forum. Are you suggesting you post uninformed opinion?

Thanks for posting bluetornados. If James Wilson decides not to sign perhaps Carl Jung would be an alternative ? He might help JB to deliver 16th place. It's beyond parody Swiss a d I note that BT has liked your response without comment but I do wonder if he/she understood the underlying sarcasm... Just my view The sarcasm is directed at JB and even though bluetornados doesn’t comment on the articles it’s often something I at least wouldn’t have picked up on if it wasn’t posted here. I suppose FourFourTwo must be the modern equivalent of Football Monthly or Shoot in our day ? How many Gasheads reading this stuff come to the conclusion it’s all about him, and Rovers suffer because of that, but they are too timid to say anything ?
