Ok, fair enough, as Oldie has got up this very morning at about 4am to yet again have another jibe at one of my other postings i will explain why i do bother... I absolutely love spending time and effort to seek out the latest political, sporting or other news items of the day and informing others if they wish to read them. Most of my stuff posted is copy and paste, i never thought this would be such an issue that it offends some so very deeply, this is my bad. I start up many threads on all manner of topics and i do comment on lots of my own and other members threads too. Lots of the threads i have started or contribute to have got many 1000's of hits, meaning people do read them IMO. I do not know anyone personally on this forum, but it feels like i know quite a few of you through reading all manner of topics. I love to research and relaying information, i did it for many years in a past life, it's a purpose to get up everyday in dealing with adversity.. The resolve has waned a little bit and if this forum is clogged up with my unwanted posts then, again, this is my very bad.. Anyway, Toodle-pip to one and all..... I always read your posts Blue Tornado, at least 50% of what you post up I have little or zilch knowledge of, so please keep posting. Thank you for your support..BT

Good morning Generally I agree of course, and these days I ignore most of what Blue Tornado copies and pastes onto this forum. The original I quoted was just inordinately long and a repeat of an off discussed topic. But here is the rub. Why bother copy and pasting from media outlets articles from a range of topics, from murder and stabbings through to football, when in so doing no opinion or comment is made? This is a discussion forum where members offer up their opinions/comments, occasionally providing media copy to back up the same. Blue Tornado never does, it's just copy and paste of what is already out there and freely available to everyone. If you look across all the sub sections they are littered (I would say clogged) with his/her posts as examples of this. Does this add value to any discussion taking place? I would argue the opposite is the case. I am not for a second suggesting that he/she doesn't have the right to do so, but equally I am free to point out that if he/she does this without offering an opinion or comment the posts add, in general, no value to any discussion taking place. In fact they just clog up discussion. Just my opinion and I am sure many will disagree. Never any need to justify what you post BT. I enjoy and appreciate the information you collect and post. I especially like the stuff you post on the wider football thread and the cricket thread. I enjoy reading what you post. Sometimes I will react sometimes I won’t. Keep it up BT, it is appreciated even if we don’t always say so. 👍👍👍 UTG!

I appreciate bluetornados posts as I would not otherwise be aware of some of this stuff as I don't generally seek Rovers related info outside of this and the other forum. Are you suggesting you post uninformed opinion? Not at all. I don't see why BT has to give an opinion on what they post when they are just providing information that is in the public domain for those of us that wouldn't necessarily be aware of it.

One can’t help thinking “ is it me, am I so much out of touch but just can’t see it ?” Then you carry out a top to bottom review of yourself and conclude “ no it’s not me it’s bl**dy Rovers”. Can there be any other organization anywhere in the world where the head of its mainstream operation, the reason for its very existence (football) never ever speaks ? Well I hope he has been brushing up on his public speaking, he had a wedding speech to deliver a couple of weeks back! WAQ, TG & JB were in attendance. I think it was in Italy somewhere. Expecting interviews next season...

Didn't know where to put this, so this is as good as anywhere...Fleetwood Town owner Andy Pilley jailed for fraud.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/F238/production/_129880026_gettyimages-493931339.jpg Andy Pilley led Fleetwood Town from non-league to League One but has now resigned as chairman after a fraud convictionThe owner and former chairman of Fleetwood Town FC has been jailed for a multi-million pound fraud which "duped" firms into expensive energy contracts. A trading standards investigation found Andy Pilley mis-sold gas and electricity contracts and posted fake customer comments on websites. Pilley, 53, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, resigned as chairman and club director of the League One side following his conviction last month. He was jailed for 13 years. Pilley was found guilty at Preston Crown Court of two counts of running a business with the intention of defrauding creditors, one count of false representation, and one count of being concerned with the retention of criminal property. Three other people were also jailed for their role in the scam. On sentencing, Judge Knowles KC, said a "salesforce of cold-calling liars and manipulators duped very large numbers of honest and decent proprietors" into "long and expensive contracts" for their gas and electricity amounting to tens of millions of pounds. The judge said Pilley "devised and enforced an elaborate pretence that the sales team were independent of the supply companies". "The truth was that he owned them and called the shots," he added. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/9DBA/production/_130287304_mediaitem130284398.jpgThe judge told the court that while the supply companies were regulated by Ofgem, the sales companies were unregulated. He told Pilley, who went to prison for four months in 1998 for conspiracy to steal from the Post Office when he was a counter clerk, "yours could have been the remarkable story of redemption". "Instead it is a sordid tale of squalid lies, greed and fraud," he said. The defendant was listed as a director of Fleetwood-based energy firm BES Utilities, an independent commercial utility supplier which provides services to businesses. The firm has been contacted by the BBC for comment, but previously said it was "important to stress that the convictions in this case relate solely to individuals and not to any company". They added he was no longer employed by any of the companies, and they "will continue to trade as normal". Pilley was made chairman of Fleetwood Town in 2004. Chief executive Steve Curwood replaced Pilley as chairman after he stepped down. Following sentencing, Fleetwood Town said: "The club would like to reiterate convictions are against individuals and not Fleetwood Town FC, or any of the businesses associated with them, and will continue to operate as normal." It added the club "remains in communication with the EFL in relation to the implications of the convictions and will now be making an application to the League in relation to a change of control". Trading Standards launched the investigation into the fraud in 2014. Kate Jones, of the North West Regional Trading Standards, told BBC Radio Lancashire she was "relieved and absolutely delighted" on behalf of all the small business owners who were victims of the fraud. "I'm glad that we have been able to help them get justice," she said. "It's been a slog to get here, but it's been worth absolutely every day for the verdicts," she added.

JB and his friend Andrew Taylor are directors and shareholders in a Liverpool based energy company called Resolve Energy Ltd. To be fair Eddy Jennings speaks very highly of Andrew Taylor. He doesn't speak publicly about anything to do with Bristol Rovers FC though. Which for the Head of Football Operations, is odd.
