Are Man U your particular team in the PL bt? Beginning to look a more solid, consistent team under Ten Haag. Won’t win the league this season I don’t think but are looking a much better team for the future and there’s still two domestic cups to play for. Perhaps very similar to Arsenal in that they’ve now arrived at a decent manager who appears to know what he wants and will win any war of words with players within the team and shows some determination in the face of earlier poor results. A recreation of the great competition between the two teams in the noughties perhaps?
UTG!

No, not particularly a Man.Utd fan WG, just started up the Man.Utd and Ronaldo threads as there was loads of interesting articles going on at the time with both of them.

Yes, there were several interesting articles. I found the whole Ronaldo/Ten Haag and Portugal WC timing’s intriguing. It seemed Ronaldo set it all up. It’s (was) rare for a manager to come out on top when coming up against one of the top players in the world. Messi, Ronaldo (up til then), other Man U players with other managers and many others have always come out on top and it’s been the managers who’ve been sacked. This time it was different. And Ronaldo was the loser. I hope Piers Morgan got something out of it. UTG!

Manchester United: Sir Jim Ratcliffe's company Ineos formally joins process to buy club..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/1B3C/production/_128327960_gettyimages-1241979478.jpgBritish billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe's firm Ineos has officially entered the race to buy Manchester United. United's owners the Glazer family said in November that they were considering selling the club as they "explore strategic alternatives". Ineos said the company had "formally put ourselves into the process". Ratcliffe made an unsuccessful late £4.25bn offer to buy Chelsea last year after owner Roman Abramovich put the London club up for sale. Born the son of a joiner in Failsworth, in Greater Manchester, Ratcliffe is a boyhood fan of United and one of the UK's richest men. He said he would have tried to buy the Old Trafford side following the failure to acquire Chelsea but, after meeting with brothers Joel and Avram Glazer, stated that they did not want to sell. However, since then the Glazers have changed their stance and he has now joined the bidding process. Ineos group owns Nice in France and Swiss club Lausanne. United have been owned by the Glazer family since 2005.

Ruthless Ten Hag to sell senior Man Utd pair, with Newcastle, West Ham among three clubs ready to pounce..
The Red Devils have caught a live one in Erik ten Hag who has already shown he’s the man to lead the revolution at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman has been unafraid to make the big decisions, notably turfing Cristiano Ronaldo out once his on-field displays stopped making up for his off-field drama.
Ten Hag is also behind the club’s sterner approach to player contracts and by and large, bought extremely well in his first window at the helm.
The end result is United being on course for Champions League qualification. Had Casemiro not been suspended on Sunday and the result against Arsenal different, United may well have been in a title race.
To take the next step, further investment on player recruitment will be required. However, as their Wout Weghorst loan showed, finances are tight around Old Trafford at present.
The club still owe £307m in unpaid transfer fees, according the Telegraph’s James Ducker. That prevented a higher profile striker signing this month and per Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, is playing havoc with their summer plans too.
United must sell well in the summer in order to free up vital funds for Ten Hag to spend. The only way they’ll be able to generate enough cash in that regard is through selling established first-team stars.
On that front, talkSPORT report two such players could be moved on at season’s end – Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay.
Maguire is United’s club captain, while McTominay has been on the club’s books for over 20 years.
However, both have fallen down the pecking order in their respective positions under Ten Hag, and talkSPORT state United are ‘ready to cash in on both’ players.
Maguire is arguably fourth-choice at centre-half at best behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw. The fact Ten Hag continues to deploy Shaw out of position at centre-back is sparking vociferous calls for Maguire to leave.
McTominay is in a similar predicament in midfield. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are Ten Hag’s preferred pairing. Fred also got the nod ahead of McTominay in the 2-1 derby victory over Man City.

Gossip: Manchester United could make a £105m bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen but the move for the 23-year-old Nigeria forward would likely not come until the summer.
United are also looking to send 19-year-old English forward Charlie McNeill, Dutch defender Bjorn Hardley, 20, and English defender Di'Shon Bernard, 22, out on loan in the January transfer window.
