Everton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have been patching together teams which has been a hard task. I'm pleased for the back five, I thought they were very good. All things considered we take the point, a positive point, and we have looked strong in the last three games. "It's back to where we were, last season we were strong defensively. That's really pleasing. Offensive side, we are still finding our feet." On the penalty: "Jordan [Pickford] has done great and made a good save. And then we don't get [awarded] one - everyone knows about our record of not getting penalties - and you get frustrated." On Everton's penalty claim: "[Dominic Calvert-Lewin] is trying to finish it. Let's put it this way, if that's in the middle of the pitch is he giving a foul? I would say absolutely. "We had a lot of mistakes earlier in the season. You can't make that many mistakes. We had to cut that out. We are showing signs that we are beginning to do that, and when you do the basics right they usually look after you. "All I can look at is this group, the intent form them, they have gone out and delivered a strong performance against a very good side. The mentality grows. "You try and be optimistic. We keep moving forward and we get more injuries, so we have to hope everyone comes through this period, and we get some players back."

Here are some of your comments:
Everton fansGreg: A gutsy performance if not much more, and would probably have taken a point seeing the team selection. Midfield needs a shake up as neither Mangala or Doucoure are capable of controlling a game, however we all know he wont change it. Nice to see Pickford taking control of his six yard box a bit more. A very commanding display. Dixie: A good defensive display. Pickford loves these games and did well. Makeshift back four or five depending how you look at it did well against a good attacking side. Dyche made the right substitutions at the right time. Well earned but deserved point. Clean sheet a bonus. Yozza: Makeshift defence against a makeshift attack. We knew we were up against it against a strong midfield but I just don’t get the Calvert-Lewin penalty. If Burn was playing the ball then fine but he wasn’t. He was blocking Dom's kicking arc as well as coming in from the back. Should have stood. Good point though. Steve: Plenty of effort but lacking creativity at the top end of pitch and at times looked open in the midfield. Great save from Pickford to deny Gordon who quite clearly was affected by the crowd. i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2024/09/11/everton-topic-preview.jpg

Match report by Tom Mallows, BBC Sport journalistEverton extended their unbeaten run to four Premier League matches with a 2-0 victory against winless Ipswich at Portman Road. Iliman Ndiaye gave the Toffees an early lead when he capitalised on some sloppy Ipswich defending to fire home from close range for his third goal of the season. Some more poor defending allowed Dwight McNeil to pick out Michael Keane, who blasted home a left-foot shot from a tight angle to double Everton's advantage before half-time. Dominic Calvert-Lewin spurned a number of chances to make the result more comfortable for the Toffees either side of the break. Ipswich were full of effort and endeavour but struggled to create many clear openings, managing just two shots on target. It is Everton's first away win for 16 games in all competitions, a run stretching back to last December. Defeat means Ipswich set a new club record of eight games without a win to start a top-flight season. MATCH FACTS AND PLAYER RATINGS

We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's Premier League game between Ipswich and Everton.
Here are some of your comments:
Everton fansMike: It was a really good performance. I thought the midfield were outstanding and dominated Ipswich. We need to get to a point where we convert more of our goal chances but overall a comfortable win. Kevin: Great performance from Everton. Sean Dyche gets the absolute best from the players he has at the football club. No other manager could achieve more in the circumstances. I don’t understand talk about replacing him Anton: Well that was a pleasing performance to secure us an important victory. No drama, no worries, no stress - I'd honestly forgotten what a Saturday afternoon like that feels like. It's difficult to say who was our worst performer - although maybe Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets that for all his misses. Get Keano upfront! i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/19/15/91043189-0-image-a-49_1729346594679.jpg

Besiktas are keen on the possibility of taking Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin on loan, with Manchester United, Newcastle United and Arsenal also interested in the striker. Everton's takeover by The Friedkin Group remains on track to be completed by December, but the new owners will not sanction significant January spending because of profit and sustainability (PSR) restrictions. Everton are preparing a £17m bid for Besiktas' 19-year-old Turkey forward Semih Kilicsoy.

Saturday 26th October 2024 - Premier League
Everton 1 (Beto 90+4) Fulham 1 (Iwobi 61)
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/26/19/91323001-14005813-image-a-36_1729967251104.jpg Substitute Beto celebrates after he scored a late equaliser for Everton against Fulham
Match report by Shamoon Hafez, BBC Sport football news reporter at Goodison ParkSubstitute Beto netted a dramatic equaliser deep in stoppage time to salvage a draw for Everton against Fulham, extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League. Sean Dyche's side looked to be heading for defeat following a lacklustre performance, but Portuguese striker Beto turned home Ashley Young’s cutback in the 94th minute to ensure the Toffees stretched their run without defeat to five games. "It means a lot for me," Beto told BBC Match of the Day. "These couple of weeks I wasn't playing so I needed to put in the hard work, and as everybody says the hard work pays off. "This time it pays off for me and my team-mates, for the Toffees, and it is really important. "The hard work pays off. I just need to keep working. If I have the opportunity of course I want to score, and if I don't I will keep working - this is my mentality. "We showed tonight we don't give up. We need to keep this mentality." It looked like Alex Iwobi was returning to haunt his old side when he fired home the opening goal on the hour mark following a fine run by Emile Smith Rowe, but the Cottagers could not hold on. Marco Silva’s men were on top in the early stages and came close to breaking the deadlock with chances in quick succession - Adama Traore's drive from an angle was pushed away by Jordan Pickford before Smith Rowe hooked over from close range. Everton had been timid in the exchanges but could have gone in front out of nowhere after midfielder Idrissa Gueye - on his 200th Premier League appearance - rattled the crossbar with a rasping shot and Dominic Calvert-Lewin's follow-up was ruled out for offside. The Blues were disjointed for large periods of the game but plugged away until the end - and Beto picked the perfect time to celebrate his first league goal of the campaign. MATCH FACTS EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Pickford 5; Young 7, Tarkowski 6, Keane 6, Mykolenko 5.5; Gueye 6.5, Doucoure 6 (Mangala 80); Harrison 5 (Lindstrom 68, 6), McNeil 6 (Branthwaite 86), Ndiaye 7; Calvert-Lewin 6.5 (Beto 81). Subs not used: Virginia, Patterson, Beto, O’Brien, Coleman, Armstrong. Booked: Tarkowski. Scorers: Beto 90+4. Manager: Sean Dyche 5.5. FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Leno 6; Tete 7, Diop 6.5, Bassey 7, Robinson 7; Pereira 6.5 (Wilson 79), Berge 8; Traore 7 (Nelson 68, 6), Smith Rowe 7.5 (Reed 79), IWOBI 8 (Cuenca 90+2); Jimenez 7.5 (Muniz 90+2). Subs not used: Benda, Cairney, King, Sessegnon. Booked: None. Scorers: Iwobi 61. Manager: Marco Silva 6. Referee: John Brooks 5. Attendance: 38,742.

The big balance is that the mentality continues to grow. You could smell in the air in the last 10 minutes that a goal was coming, at least I felt that way. "To be fair, they were the better team overall today and they are a really good side. We forged a positive point for ourselves in the end. "I don't think we played well in the first-half. I don't think we effected things too differently in the second-half. Sometimes you have to mix it up, play crosses into the box, and I was really pleased with that. "We finally scored a goal and nicked a point. I don't think we were miles off today, but we were off where we want to be." On Beto's goal: "He has been working hard. His career path has been meteoric. We knew he was raw and he still has a lot to learn. It is a brave header, he throws himself in amongst it. "As Brian Clough said: 'Sometimes you need to get hurt to score a goal'. He certainly was willing to get hurt to score that goal. It is good that you have players who want to come off the bench and affect the game." On Everton's five-game unbeaten run: "We weren't playing our best, but we found a way to get something from the game. Over a season, it is important to keep getting something from games in the Premier League."

We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's Premier League game between Everton and Fulham.
Here are some of your comments:
Everton fansAndy: A tough watch. We were so passive. We were lucky to take a point really, but our run continues. The goal clearly meant a lot to Beto and I'm pleased for him. Young had another decent game and he showed great skill with the assist. We need to take three points against Southampton now. Anton: We somehow drew, so that shows good character, but we were so poor. I do love Sean Dyche but he needs to figure out how to play at Goodison Park because it is just not good enough. The derby last season is the blueprint. How we set up to play works very well away, but he needs to find a new way for the home ground. It's a good job the next two matches are away. Chris: When is Sean Dyche going to learn that with the amount of possession that Everton concede to the opposition, they are not going to win enough games to stay in the Premier League. They are simply not good enough! Marshall: As a long-time Everton supporter, I live in hope that we will be winning games more often and move up the table. I have to say that I was quite disappointed with our performance. The only saving grace was our effort towards the end and, of course, Beto's great goal! I sometimes wonder how the team prepares during the week, to be honest. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/25/22/91300645-14003953-image-a-35_1729893595603.jpg

Stoke City condemn 'sickening and unacceptable' chants aimed at Tyrese Campbell mocking the death of his father Kevin after the Everton legend's passing..by Lewis Browning
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/29/20/91433245-14010013-image-m-2_1730234385876.jpg Stoke City have condemned 'sickening and unacceptable' chants aimed at Tyrese CampbellStoke City have condemned 'sickening and unacceptable' chants aimed at Sheffield United player Tyrese Campbell. Campbell scored the second goal of the Blades' 2-0 win over City on Saturday, his first goal of the season in his eighth appearance for the Potters. Stoke, however, have said that a 'small minority' of supporters were involved in chants thought to have been mocking Campbell over the passing of his father, Arsenal and Everton legend Kevin Campbell, during the game. The statement read: 'The club has a zero-tolerance approach to tragedy chanting and strongly condemns the abhorrent actions of the individuals involved. 'Any evidence brought to the attention of the Club that implicates individuals in such behaviour will be acted upon without hesitation and the police will also be informed. 'Supporters who see or hear any incidents of criminal, discriminatory, unacceptable or anti-social behaviour are implored to report it by any of the methods below. 'The Club will continue to work with fellow clubs, police forces and all relevant authorities to identify perpetrators of illegal actions and to ensure that matchdays are safe, welcoming and enjoyable for all.' Campbell passed away at the age of 54 in June after falling unwell earlier in the month, leading to an outpouring of emotion from the football community. The popular forward spent six years at Everton between 1999 and 2005, and left a lasting impression. Tyrese, who was present at a special Everton memorial service last month, posted an emotional tribute to his dad in the hours after his death on Instagram that read: 'I appreciate my Dad was admired by many and the outpouring of love has been some comfort for us as a family, so thank you for that at such a difficult time. 'The pain of this is indescribable and as a son you look at your Dad as invincible. He is my idol, the one who I wanted to be when I grew up. 'He was the life and soul of every party and room he blessed, a one in a million person that was loved by everyone, a special special person. I'll miss you Dad. 'I would now ask that the privacy of our family is respected as we mourn the loss of an irreplaceable father, brother, uncle and all round amazing human being. Love you always Dad.' i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/29/20/91433317-14010013-image-a-3_1730234430989.jpgi.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/29/20/91433331-14010013-image-m-5_1730234436837.jpgKevin played over 150 games for both Everton and Arsenal and passed away in June this year

Everton manager Sean Dyche spoke after today's loss: "The key decision in the game went against us. The sending off, I'm surprised by that (was not given). "Beto is in his stride and he's breaking across. The thing that worries me is that players who don't roll around don't get decisions. "Beto is trying to stay on his feet and nothing gets given but just a yellow card, the defender is a long way off."

Sean Dyche spoke to BBC Match of the Day after Everton's draw with West Ham: “There’s a lot of noise at [West Ham] at the moment, which affected the game. It’s another point and clean sheet on the road. With a little bit more in the final third, we’d have had more points this season. “We had pockets where I thought we were a threat. A lot of our game was good today. We opened up the game when we could and defended resolutely when we had to. “We just need a bit of devil in the final third and a bit of devil in the box, but it’s not easy in the Premier league.”

We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's Premier League game between Southampton and Everton.
Here are some of your comments:
Everton fans:Nigel: This all hangs on Dyche. He hasn't got it in him to try anything different. He could have tried Calvert-Lewin and Beto together. He could stop playing his favourites (McNeil). He could start our best player, Branthwaite. But he's just stubborn, or hasn't the coaching ability. I'm grateful for his service in keeping us up, but it's time to go! Peter: Every week we stick with Calvert-Lewin, every week he fails to engage in the team strategy, then we bring on Beto who looks 100% behind the team plan. Beto wants first team football, Calvert-Lewin won't sign a new contract. Am I missing something? Ed: Dyche has to go, plain and simple. Southampton have beaten us twice. Embarrassing. Our unbeaten run has flattered us and I honestly think anyone could get a better tune out of these players than the current management. Focusing on key decisions is a distraction from the underlying mess. The whole club needs flushing out from top to bottom. Jim: Very sloppy performance, couldn't keep hold of the ball and no decisive cutting edge in attack. Took off our influential attacker in the second half which is a bit baffling. Everton left the back door open for their winner. Head scratching time.

We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's Premier League game between West Ham and Everton.
Here are some of your comments:
Everton fansTony: Dire and lacking any cohesion, Calvert-Lewin and Doucoure are past their sell-by date. Lindstrom is Championship standard. Dyche has no idea what to do any more. Hope the ownership is settled soon so we can get some fresh blood in at the top. Gladys: The headlines will be that it was a good point away from home but, yet again, Dyche continues to show how out of his depth he is. This was a good opportunity to go and fight for a win, but it seems like Dyche only ever sets up for 0-0 draws. Time to go. Gary: Hard-fought point with Pickford saving our blushes. West Ham substitutions definitely made them more threatening and thanks to Jordan's great saves we did not lose. As for our substitutes, too late and same old, same old. Sorry, Mr Dyche, but tactically you just don't have it.

Everton are monitoring Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey, 24, but look set to to be beaten by West Ham in the race to sign the Ghana international on a free transfer in the summer. Everton manager Sean Dyche will be under scrutiny during the Toffees' difficult run of fixtures over the Christmas period.
