How did Bas get 2 votes? Proper democracy this: vote early vote often. I voted on here and postal. Pop over to epping's house and vote in person as well.

Well, here we are, 3pm the Monday after the Saturday before, have just looked at the official website, it's being updated, some lame stories a couple of hours ago, just now they've added something about tickets for a game against Oxford, but no sacking and not even an explanation or apology. What's become of the club I've supported all of my life? No one got any rumours from out the club?

Barton should be removed as manager of Bristol Rovers. Manager | P | Division(s) | W | % | D | % | L | % | Clarke | 246 | 4th, 5th, 4th to 3rd | 104 | 42% | 56 | 23% | 86 | 35% | Coughlan | 56 | 3rd | 25 | 45% | 18 | 32% | 13 | 23% | Garner | 33 | 3rd | 6 | 18% | 10 | 30% | 17 | 52% | Tisdale | 19 | 3rd | 5 | 26% | 3 | 16% | 11 | 58% | Barton | 35 | 3rd to 4th | 8 | 23% | 5 | 14% | 22 | 63% |
Barton took Rovers down a division, still winning under a quarter of total games, and losing the most games, after managing for more games than Garner or Tisdale were allowed, yet somehow he is still here. There's no point blaming his predecessors, both of whom Al Qadi sacked when Rovers were above the third division relegation zone. Barton has brought nothing but shame to Bristol Rovers Football Club. Thanks for the poll. Looks like you must waddle off into lurkmode for a few more weeks. Hopefully we can have Duck for Christmas.

(Strictly against Forum rules, bit I made an exception because was having problems with his 'old' login, and I didn't want to delete his history. I really am, such a nice bloke). Actually Eppingif you could delete the old one please,it gets confusing.

It just means you won't be able to search for anything you wrote under the username "basel". Let me know if you change your mind, else I'll delete it tonight.

Wael is on here. Hi Wael, You seem like a really decent chap, I'm absolutely sure you have best intentions for our football club at heart, please, please seek some advice from some people who are IN your circle AND want what's best for our club. We are here to back you 99% (there's 1% that really want's you to fail, sadly!) The danger of seeking advice from people "In your circle" is that they will be someone like Harry Redknapp or a party introduced by the intermediary from the leafy lanes of Hertfordshire and so what is in the best interests of Rovers will be very low down on their list of priorities. They will be looking to get control of a horse which is a rank outsider but will put them in the game while someone else (Wael) is paying most of the stake money. In other words minimal risk to themselves and therefore no need for any long term planning or building strong foundations just a punt on a broken down nag which might come in but if it doesn't they know they can send it to the knackers yard and walk away. What I think is needed is advice from someone OUTSIDE of Wael's circle who will tell him some hard truths but who will be more likely to help bring about a satisfactory long term resolution for both Wael and Rovers.

No offence, but why is Wael getting a free pass on this? He clearly has access to a social media, which he frequently used in happier times. What is there to stop him from issuing a brief statement, in which he clarifies his views on his manager comparing a poor performance against Newport County to the mass annihilation of human life? Both he and Starnes have established previous in going missing when issues like this arise, and the club's name is dragged through the mud. His silence speaks volumes..and it isn't very flattering. Incidentally, as a chairman from a particular part of the world, he has an added incentive to be proactive on this. Some will undoubtedly object to me pointing this out, but unfortunately this is the way it is.

What, you mean someone who doesn't sit there grinning inanely claiming that all is well whilst every key indicator suggests the polar opposite?

Or does it mean that nobody in their right mind would spend their own money on a club like BRFC. Who is this mythical beast, or partnership, who can deliver a £50M stadium and be content to see their cash tied up into a non performing asset for impertuity? Rarer than the Loch Ness Monster

Hopefully Wael will be at tomorrow nights Youth game and can ask the visitors how they are managing to further spend £2.2m on their training ground with cash sat in the current account.

I was referring to the two who’s appointment to the board was vetoed by Wael but they could be Lord Lucan riding on the back or Shergar for all I know

I no longer have any faith in him and, although I appreciate this is insignificant in the grand scheme, he no longer gets any money from me

You know I agree with you, absolutely. The problem is, I think, that ship has sailed. How does the club start, now, doing things the right way when shareholder equity sits at £20M plus and would have to be repaid?. We had this chance in 2002-4, what was it them, £2.5M? Doable, but we pissed that opportunity up against a wall of egos and a very successful divide and rule campaign. The terrible reality is that we, as supporters, are totally reliant on the current shareholder(s) not liquidating the assets to get their cash back. Leaving us homeless. Back to the future and 1986 and all that.

I think he ought to have said something when the manager declared that his Chief Executive and Director of Football were both completely hopeless. At this rate he probably ought to reserve an hour a week to respond to the man's latest gob-off. Or just sack him and have done.

Some will undoubtedly object to me pointing this out, but unfortunately this is the way it is. Not sure why anyone would object unless they are antisemitic and/or Holocaust deniers. Presumably Wael is somewhere without access to media and hasn't yet seen the latest stupidity from his colossally stupid managerial appointment. Cough.

To be slightly pedantic he did not put THE in front of the word. Holocaust, a large amount of destruction especially by fire or heat OR the killing of large numbers of people. Not really sure what he was trying to say. Still based on the football, including results, Barton out.
