Reaching 200 posts. Is it time to retire this thread and put to bed Mr Bartons tenure here for good?

Understand why some say no. Exactly the type of player we need though, strength and muscle is what we’re missing So long as we get a forward to go with him who has some pace. It’s been speed that we’ve lacked this season. UTG! So apart from pace, strength, and ability to defend and keep players fit, we’re all set 😂

Glad to say I was back to beautiful blue and white yesterday. My target was to raise a thousand pounds and thanks to the generosity of Gasheads, I will have smashed that, so many thanks for your support and the funny banter I received last Tuesday while wearing the red rag. There is still time to add a donation on the earlier link and every penny goes to help babies and children at the hospital. Well played Dave and what a worthy cause, just waiting for payday before making a donation.

Think a win and league one survival is worthy of a fist bump, no matter how awkward. I couldn’t see where our next point was coming from let alone a win. 3-1 be happy.

Should have taken it on The Repair Shop (if it was being aired when they first got it repaired) and had it refurbished for free! Anyone know where exactly it was at the Tote End? This article states: "... it was hung up above the Tote End at Eastville Stadium, Rovers' home ground from 1897 to 1986, alongside other clocks that toted up the odds in the greyhound races that the stadium also hosted until its demolition in 1997." But I've looked at old photos I have and can't see it showing on any of the Tote End boards. I think there were 2 free-standing versions (one white, one black), before the roof was put up and the board displayed on the facia (before finally being covered by The Hofmeister advert). Wondering whether it was inside so people under the roof could see it. Or around the outside of the bar somewhere? Plus 'alongside other clocks'? They weren't really clocks, surely?? Maybe best termed 'dials'? I want to say 'totalisers', but don't think they really could be described that way. Plus 'toted up the odds'? Has that just been made up because it's the 'Tote End'? Should that be 'totted up'? Tote is the company name innit? Would have been nice to explain how the clock was discovered. If it was up at Eastville until 1997, where was it living until it was repaired and installed at The Mem approximately 20 years later? Tote, the gambling company, wasn’t founded until 1928.

UPDATE: 3/6 =4 POINTS. 4. shakes. - - - - - 4points- - - - - 5. TaiwanGas. 5. TexasGas. 6. Cheshiregas. 6. Mrs V Smegma. 7. CabbagePatchBlies. 7. Delsy. 7. o2o2bo2ba. 7. warehamgas. 8.6. eppinggas. 9. Bamber GasHead. 10. Kingswood Polak. 10. rowdenhill. 12. Blue Mist (DEFENDING CHAMPION!). 16. JeffNZ. This round we say goodbye to reigning defending champion, Blue Mist....and Bamber will find it difficult to get the exact prediction. But what it does, this interesting draw, is to put shakes right in control of our juggernaut. What could possibly go wrong? 😢

Well well, there’s a first. Just following form and the unpredictability of the current squad. Neither an optimist nor a pessimist be.

Tremendous Martin - get sent off in the last minute of a game where we are 2-0 down and now miss the next three matches, negatively impacting our chances before a ball is even kicked. This from a senior pro. I really want to see progress, but it just seems like one step forward, two steps back. One match ban for two yellows isn’t it? Still not good. Defending for both goals was freaking amateur, four or five players near the ball but no challenge. New players looking good but overall poor from the Gas tonight. So disappointing.

Never got carried away with this as much as the commentators kept ramming it down our throats of a big money tie vs Liverpool. Personally I was over the moon at the away draw with Norwich, we had a good go at them and that’s all I expected.

I personally blame Taiwan for tempting fate. I’m also supporting Taiwan in the vain hope of reaching 6 points.
