It would normally be yes, but I think we have a young passionate manager, who will continue to improve. I'm sticking

What I like about this thread, it shows we have a decent squad and the permutations are varied but a lot of them look good, begins to show that the job of picking the right team balance is not straightforward and not many managers get it right 100% of the time. Go with your research but can outthink yourself. Probably easier to pick the players in form. Easter and Lines coming in at this level, now that is just excellent.

I'm one that has got the Rovers bug back (mind you, cant believe I almost lost it either, True Blue since 1973). Got a family do away from Bristol on Saturday, now that really sucks.
Cant wait for the result. COYB

I can't understand why having lost Easter at Dartford he rushed back Sinclair on another poor pitch yesterday, now it looks like we've lost him for the season. I agree with Steve in that Harrison seems far better suited to the no 10 role than no 9 DC usually favours. Blisset & Harrison could well be a good combination, particularly if Taylor's starting to struggle. It does seem Leadbitter is becoming the new Smith, as we were hoping it might be when he was struggling earlier in the season.
I said a week or two ago, I'd start with Ellis and Matty, until Easter is back. Let Blissett take the rest. He's getting more and more lightweight. Both of the smaller lads are better in the air.
Also liking the look of Leadbetter, began a little headless but improvement in defending has been great to watch. So good when he romps forward.

Just opinions though, we are on an incredible run, when Easters ready the timing could be perfect

How weird, I thought Ellis played well, in fact I saw Blissett as ineffective. I'd go Taylor Harrison Tuesday.

winning ugly today ..gave the ball away so easily ...Taylor should have scored in the one on one with the keeper...wonder what they do in training with Blissett ..feel he is a poor player, bad touch, no football brain and lacks physical presence ..hope Easter is fit soon ...we need his experience and also the energy of Sinclair ...tries hard but Lockyer is not a midfielder ..Parkes was immense again today. Our defence is excellent and the race for the top is certainly on after the results today Have to agree, Blissett was very poor today. Both Taylor and Harrison better in the air. I'd try these two from the start until Easter is ready. Ellis did enough to justify a start on Tuesday.

I still really hate them, despite being 50, and wiser(?)
Couldn't bring myself to watch it yesterday (the thought of them winning), but kept an eye on the score as of course I would have turned it on if they were getting stuffed.

He has links as a player,, that could be the only draw. We have to be a better long term prospect for any ambitions he have.....like some here he has been a breath of fresh air and he isn't fully appreciated for the hospital pass he was given and how he has pulled us out of the football playing gutter

I cant make it Saturday. So what; in May I was so disillusioned I wouldn't have thought it possible to attend again yet alone looking forward to watching and being gutted to miss a game. My misses cannot understand any of it, from the things I said a few months ago.
I convinced a mate to go on Tuesday, who hasn't been since the FA Cup glory run. He was really surprised with the quality, the players attitude and that the fans are behind the team. Kind of sums up my feelings.
Are we coming back: I think of the clubs that were so poisoned and fell like a stone, and who come back stronger than ever or suddenly grew in structure with players and managers developing and going into the Championship! I'm running before I can walk, but feel as upbeat as I can remember.

The clip from the vine neither proves nor disproves the handball. If you were unbiaised (which I'm clearly not !) it looks like it came off his head with his arm/hand flapping about behind his head. Whether it hit his hand after hitting his head you cannot tell with certainty from the vine clip. As someone else has mentioned on this thread our players told Darrell Clarke it wasn't handball and they should know being far closer that any of us were to the action. You are right they should know.....nearest player is MM have a look at his reaction.

Having seen the 'proper' highlights I don't think it was handball. What he was doing with his arm is anyones guess though and if it had been given he'd only have himself to blame. Not that it matters, but check out the still photo on the match page you will see clearly it was handball, and can feel satisfied 98% of people aren't going mad. Also shows why the ref gave it, despite being bullied out of it.

Good post and agree with it......Balanta looks like he might have something a bit special, but needs to get the fitness sorted. Fingers crossed he is hungry enough to work hard.

Great work there.....Look at the ref, he saw it, but didn't have the balls to give it and was bullied by Barnet to check with lino, and lets face it the refs are terrible the linos are miles off the pace (just to contradict; gave our goal)

From that angle certainly looks a pen, otherwise that is one stonking headed clearance. Theangle the Lino was looking from should also mean he had a decent view so..... Anyway, got what we deserved in the end. Not bad for a mickey mouse manager and unfit professionals that we have according to some
With you on that one PP, hopefully the players have showed the desire to fight for every ball and result, even if it doesn't always go to plan. I like the attitude of these players and this manager. We definitely have a base to build from. With or without promotion they deserve the support shown by most.

sorry but i still think it was a great defensive header, hopefully the proper replay will confirm one way or the other
So did I until I just saw that video clip. The way he dived it was impossible for him to do that with his head. The blokes I was with thought it handball I argued it was a great header. Very wrong. Blackthorn End had best view and bang on. Would have, could have, but I reckon we were so on top that 10 men 2-0 we would have had a big win.

Just back. We were great first half should have been in front. Mildy didn't move for the 30yard shot, strange, I didnt see any deflection, he just didn't seem to see it. Akin de a handful but we really didn't look like conceding. Second half Barnet had a lot of the ball but again not really dangerous. We huffed a bit in the second half. Marty Taylor's control is excellent his work rate impressive, he scored and also missed one or two. I understand why DC likes him. Great result, we still aren't playing our best but we have players totally committed. This team compared to last year, I know which one I prefer to watch. RadBris said deflection for their goal Ok that explains a lot.
