Correct decision as the weather would have worsened as the evening had progressed. One thing that didn't make sense is why according the referee the whole pitch was frozen when he made his inspection. What sort of state are the covers in and what was the point in covering the pitch if they don't work. Maybe it wasn't frozen when he did the inspection, but the os says ... "the persistent sub-zero temperatures meant that the pitch would have frozen once the covers had been removed". According to the interview the referee did with Keith Brookman, he said that after doing the inspection with Marcus Stewart & Paul Cook, the entire pitch was frozen and not any part of the playing surface was fit to play on. I was under the impression that standard frost covers work to a limit of minus 8.

Tom Nichols is Luke James mk2. DC is doing the same with Nichols as he did with Luke James, playing him to try and justify signing him, hoping it will work out but sadly it looks like it never will, unfortunately we are stuck with Nichols beyond this season. We are a hustle & bustle direct team who on occasions mix it up with a bit of nice football, i don't know whether Nichols is just not suited to our style or whether he is just a league 2/national league player. I cannot understand why Sercombe is playing as a wide forward in a 4-3-3, we've gone through the season playing with this 4-3-3 with strikers playing wide, and now we are playing central midfielders out wide. I hope Mensah doesn't go the same way as Jonny Burn, a promising signing who never got a kick last season, then got injured and couldn't get his way back in.

It looks like our only signing might be Tony Craig, a player we don't actually need. DC said he wanted 4 permanent signings, and if he didn't get them he would get loans in. He even bragged about how many loans he has been offered. So it will be interesting to see if DC sticks to his word, or if like the summer, he's still struggling to add up properly. I fear today may be another sad day in the history of BRFC, and highlight the desperate need for a DOF. Depends on the reasons we are struggling to sign players really. We don't know if it is money, the infrastructure, our location etc. If players are refusing to come here because of our jurassic stadium and training situation then a DOF will be a waste of time. That will be for the owners to sort out. DC himself certainly speaks to the media as if the hierarchy at BRFC is making him do his job with an arm tied behind his back. I understand getting permanent signings in during January is difficult, which is why i don't understand why DC cannot go to his plan B which is loan signings, something he has said is easy to do. I'm not fussed whether the signings are permanent or loans, but the fact remains the squad has lacked a proper defensive midfielder and a wide player since the start of the season. If we sign yet another left footed centre back, plus a young raw Bernard Mensah as Bodins replacement, then this window would have not only been bizarre but totally unacceptable. DC is real rough diamond, and a manager i have no doubt will go onto manage in the championship in the next 3 years, but his lack of being able to get deals over the line together with his ultra tough approach to wages is the reason why signing proven league 1 players is almost impossible.

That interview was a total embarrassment, i can't believe it was allowed to go out. How the f*** can you say with a straight face that the toilets and bars are going to get refurbished when there supposed to be getting knocked down for the new stadium!!! Please Wael you and your family don't need the hassle of owning the club any more, we are a tinpot league 1 club in desperate need of multi million pound investment, the last thing we are is anything you could ever add to a portfolio. Do the decent thing and sell up, it's painful watching you and your family keep the club on a life support machine.

Shocking standard of football on show. Both teams hoofing the balls into the channels, i have never seen a game where the players were constantly battling for the second balls, it was devoid of any skill or technical ability, it really was a case of which team could be first to nick a scrappy goal. That was like a Wardy away performance, digging in and hoping for a draw, and in fairness to DC i'm sure he and everyone else would have been delighted with a point and a clean sheet, just a shame we couldn't hang on.

I made my feelings clear on here 12 months ago and was lynched, but then i put up with the same for being one of the first to call for Buckle, McGhee & Ward to go. Some of the comments on GasChat are an utter embarrassment, we deserve the club we've got when the majority are happy to accept total s***e. I was the first to call for Buckle not to come here in the first place. 🙌🙌 I remember that well, I was never to keen on him coming here, the desperate chase for his signature to bring him here was embarrassing. But then i always believed that Dave Penny should have stayed and been given a summer to build a squad to have a go at league 2, much like DC was given that chance when we went into the conference. Penny sacking was up there with one of my lowest points supporting the club.

a) time to abolish this awful 4-3-3
b) add a first team coach to replace Steve Yates
c) play 3-5-2 for the next half a dozen games, Leadbitter & Bola as wing backs, play Partington as the defensive midfielder we are desperately lacking.
d) Gaffney & Nichols to play as front 2
e) get more of the development squad out on loan

No need to panic, Slocombe committed a professional foul which will mean a 1 match ban, Alexis will be fine against the worst side in the division on Tuesday, it will be good experience for the lad, hopefully Mildy will be on the bench as it would be disappointing to cancel Jonkermans loan at Mangotsfield when it only just started.

Ollie Clarke was awful, didn't look up for it and gave the ball away every time he had it, all 3 goals shouldn't have stood, 2 were offside and one was the result of blocking which referees were supposed to sort out. Burn & Broadbent haven't even played 20 league games between them, they looked poor at set pieces but you can't fault them for anything in open play. Byron Moore proved why it was an absolute disgrace we didn't bring in a wide player on Thursday, the problem with playing a front 3 is that you are asking strikers to play in a wide role and it's not a natural position for Harrison, Nichols or Gaffney, the complete lack of wingers in the squad means you can forget us ever playing 4-4-2, i think the squad is set up to play 3-5-2, Bradford destroyed us today playing that formation, it was like they were playing with 12 men. Continued off field instability together with a lack of experience and quality in key areas means this season will be a very inconsistent one at best, i'd happily take mid table now.

Great that Broom gets a goal, standout player in the youth/reserve team in the last few years.

About time Burn got a chance, plus Broadbent can come back from wherever DC has tossed him and partner Burn, a more than decent enough pairing. No chance of anymore call ups, but even if there was, can we afford to turn down the money from sky. Where/why do you think DC has tossed broadbent? He brought in 'proven' commodity Sweeney and paired him with the captain Anything good to say about Ellis from the other night? I have no idea why Broadbent has been taken out of the side, IMO i think we should be playing 3-5-2, we have zero quality in the wide areas (Bodin for me should be playing in a free role behind the striker), and i think a back 3 of Lockyer, Sweeney & Broadbent would be very impressive, maybe Broadbent needs time to settle into a professional club environment and DC doesn't want to rush him, i certainly hope to see him start at Bradford and in the EFL Trophy games. As for Ellis, he scored 4 against Northampton last season and was then awful for 3 months, 1 goal at Fulham doesn't give me any hope that he will deliver on a consistent basis.

Fair play to Wael, it's the most sensible option, the location is perfect and as he says they own the land, it's now time for them to get on with it as they will be in full control of moving the project forward with no 'partners' getting in the way.

Wael should be more focused on either sorting out The Mem rebuild or finding someone to put a for sale sign up in Box 1.
