using how they played when they were at Rovers (so, for example, if using the famous comedy duo of Channon and Ball, not when they were at their international peak). It might provide a pleasant change of mood...
For Rovers - I'm thinking maybe peak Rovers Lambo (those volleys!)
For the opposition - maybe Stevie McManaman before his big money move to Spain?

MICKEY bARRETT, no one ever close to his skill and magician like ability to get passed a player. For me the best i have seen at Rovers

Only for the second half though! He swapped wings and ripped our left back to shreds. Carl Sunders put us 1-0 at Anfield... those were the days...

This is really difficult, I could pick a number of Rovers players for a number of different reasons.
For: Barry Hayles Against: David Beckham

Best for... Astafjevs, his vision.....he once played a brilliant through ball that when it bounced, it vertically held up (like a backspin) away at Wycombe, I was in awe....no one could keep up with his skill. (Surely the best has to be Bradford or Dix?)
Best against... Steve McManamon away to Liverpool. Unplayable. I think jocky is still spinning!?
(Surely the best has to be George Best? ....if he did play against us?)

This is really difficult, I could pick a number of Rovers players for a number of different reasons. For: Barry Hayles Against: David Beckham Never saw that game but i did see Paul Mariner and he was very good and gave our defenders a hard time. Yes, we had George Best and i believe Rodney March at Eastville but neither were close to their prime. Of the star names we had i think Llan Ball and Terry Cooper did us proud but i will say Mickey Barrett and Paul Mariner. It’s strange as i could normally give a few names but, when put on the spot, i go blank. I could give a mention to many ex gas such as David Williams, Gary Mabbut , many of our goalkeepers and strikers sulu have as Hayley, Cureton, Roberts and Ellington ( who could forget that match v Derby ) i bet i come back to this, later

Probably not the best but I did used to like watching Mark O’Connor, he was always good value, against John Sheridan.

I was sixteen, loved it and have never forgot it. them were the days!.

Because of that, agree with you re: McManaman in 1992, who was unplayable. Best for us? Rickie Lambert, David Williams, Mickey Barratt and Jamie Cureton

Playerwise, i though Ball and Cooper were the best i could remember for us, ans as mentioned previous a young Paul Mariner full of eagerness ans everthing that took him to the highest level

Indeed, many Gasheads ejected that day for overexuberance, most came back in by shining along the Thames wall and climbing back into the ground, I know, I was one of them!.
