He is going to retire at the end of the season and hence will not feature again until the Barnsley game where,if we are safe, he will either start and be substituted some time in the second half so he can get a thank you from the fans or come on in a cameo role near the end. it seems your source was at least half right

Not sure GC has come out too well over this issue. However we do not know all that went on and a manager has to be more restrained than players spouting off on social media. Managers have to swallow their pride sometimes, something DC rarely, or maybe never, did, but he's the one who picks the team and if he thinks the midfielders he plays are better than others then that's the way it is. We had no width, but we shipped out Bennett; again we do not know certain things, but GC got J C-H playing better.

I think we've learned that GC tends to guff a bit when under pressure
which doesn't make him a bad manager, and maybe he'll get better with the press bit

'the other side of the coin is the ones who got on the bus with me in December, the ones who had my back for the last four months. They have really, really dug deep for this football club and gone above and beyond the call of duty, they need to be rewarded as well'
implies that there were those who didn't, I think

I know it will be silly season for gossip and rumour, when there is no football being played. It’s a case of wait and see now AMPG but the hazy optimism that came with the magnificent promotion , has deserted us and uncertainty is in its place. I think a fair few of us got very excited with the forward momentum we had but let slip. I still get agitated about that.

Chris Lines has been treated like crap. I hope he's a huge success in whatever he does next. Top man.
Wish the manager had his class.

That won't do, stig. Get with it. CL, all good. GC, all bad.

Sad to see Chris leave but nobody really knows what has gone on... All the very best Linesy... I'm sure he'll have no trouble in getting a new club soon. Thanks Chris

They save their energy doing what comes natural to them; setting up goals, among other things. Good for him for not being a yes man to a style of play that was foreign to him, being Rovers born and bred.

It was a style of play that prevented relegation though

It's a style of play that'll keep us in a relegation struggle until we do finally go down. Sides like Accrington and Fleetwood should never be finishing above us in the table.

GC has simply selected sides that are good when the opposition have the ball,as well as when we do.Chris Lines weakness is his lck of fight in the midfield bttle.Nothis style I think GC did the correct thing in dropping CL and he'll be able to sign a more around midfielder to replace him.

Whilst they continue to have 11 people capable of playing association football to a higher standard than us... this will continue to happen.

In defence, this is a much tougher division to learn your trade as a manager than Darrell had to cope with in his first full year in charge, and we turned in some poor performances against part timers that year as I recall, performances that would have resulted in us getting destroyed by any half decent L1 club. The manager needs funds, if it's the same ridiculous nonsense we saw last summer than he should walk away with his head high and let someone else take the fall for the owners' prioritising a plush office in London over the playing budget. Based on what he's achieved here he'll get work elsewhere.

In fairness to GC he said from the start it wouldn't be pretty but it was all about avoiding the drop. Pre season gives him the chance to bring in new players and a different style
