So Keith resigned because the production of the programme was outsourced and he therefore lost editorial control. This was a commercial decision rather than a reflection of his work - award-winning.
He wasn't sacked or made redundant. Presumably the club would have been happy for him to continue his media officer responsibilities but he did not wish to pursue this.

Keith should do a fanzine. We used to do one called 2nd of May in 90s. Preferred it to the actual programme. Some of their contributors were literary geniuses

The people saying they are going to boycott are the same wanting to boycott due to Kevin Spencer, Nick Higgs, relegation, Ian Holtby etc. Surely if you are already boycotting its flipping irrelevant
I wont shed a tear at any departures from the old Rovers era, weve been s**t my whole life lets try something else.

We all would like the new training ground and the new stadium. Unfortunately we cannot have that right now, but the club is clearly trying to make strides to improve its financial viability It's late, I'm tired, so none of this is checked, but the exact details aren't important, the point, I think, is valid. 1998 from memory we took full ownership of The Mem, from then until 2016, including the Sainsbury's farce, we ran up something like £5m of debts secured against the stadium. This new lot, I think, have doubled that in 2 years. They ain't gonna reverse that by selling an advert in a match day magazine. There are more serious problems.

I honestly think this is different. This is Mr rovers media..... sorry but why bother writing more! I do not know what Wael intentions are but sometimes love affairs come to an end.

I think that he might have a case for constructive dismissal, it would be interesting to hear the board argue their case for taking editorial control away from him after the programme had won awards during his employment.

BRFC CLUB STATEMENT The club's Head of Media Keith Brookman has left the club, after a dedicated and passionate 21 years of service. Keith originally began as a programme contributor from about 1992, producing content for every edition up until 1997, at which point he became a full-time Rovers employee under the role of programme editor. He later took on the roles of summarising on BBC Radio Bristol and becoming the club's Press Officer/Head of Media. Keith built up an esteemed reputation for producing an award-winning matchday programme, increasing the content from 48 pages to 64 and then to 84. He also worked very closely with the first team, travelling with them to all away games and acting as an unofficial player and staff liaison officer, assisting with tickets, travel and food. As a result, Keith was the main port for communications between Darrell Clarke and the press, whilst also interviewing the Manager himself countless times for the matchday programme and website. Darrell had this to say on Keith's departure from his position at the club; "Keith was an integral part of the staff at here at the club and you'd struggle to find someone with more commitment and love for Bristol Rovers. "He's been here ever since I started working at the club and he will be sorely missed by everyone at the Memorial Stadium. "He's become a personal friend of mine in the time that I've been here and it'll certainly remain that way despite his departure. "We all wish him well for the future and hope to see him back at the Mem as a fan at some point." The club would like to extend it's greatest thanks for all of Keith's hard work and effort over the years and wish him well for the future. Here’s the crux of the matter waq Hamer gorridge and all have no real emotional attachment to our club to them it’s a project or a job they don’t live the same life as your average fan I don’t know Keith Brookman but I’ll bet he’s been Gas all his life and then to actually work for them must have a been a dream come true for him and to be cast aside by some newbie brought in to maximise revenue must really hurt many old school Gas heads who kept this club alive by their sponship hospitality etc and do things behind the scenes don’t seem too impressed with this new approach and I know a couple who have not renewed boxes etc these are people who are rovers to the core and while things are going reasonably well they may not be missed but if things were to change these are the ones you’ll need not some prawn sandwich knob who doesn’t really care for our club let’s see in five years time who’s still around people like keith or waq and his gang I hope this doesn’t stop Keith coming to see his life long team and after all the good work he has done he should be made more them welcome. UTG A great post that I think sums things up well.
Some people are saying that the club is now being run like a business,ok then the people who attend matches now are customers not supporters or fans so if in the future the Rovers are relegated to Non league the customers could take the attitude that they will stay away until a better product is on offer.
To be balanced though Rovers have done this kind of thing before,Harold Jarman was treated in a shabby way,and perhaps Harry Buckle could confirm that a previous Rovers manager was informed of his sacking by having a note pushed under his door in the middle of the night.

Brough Fletcher Rovers manager was dismissed on 2nd January 1951. He had been with the club since November 1945. Although the decision had been a unanimous one, it provoked a rift between directors, which was to plague Rovers for a number of months. Following a Board meeting one of the Directors called around Fletcher's house after midnight and posted a letter informing him of his dismissal. Harold Jarman who had saved Rovers from relegation as caretaker manager for four months in 1979/80 then applied for the permanent job but was overlooked for player -coach Terry Cooper the former Leeds United and England International.

You can win all the awards going but if it's not making a profit its bad business......programmes sales have been in decline for years through out football and some smaller clubs are going to on line version only. Rumour on the other forum is that Roadmans ( poster) company are taking it over. But it wasn't making a loss. It might not have been making a huge profit, but at the very least it was paying for itself. Only having full page adverts, at a higher price, which might exclude engagement with local businesses, sounds like bad business - time will tell. If it does go online only then that is the end really; I can't see the point in it. What would you get that you can't already see on the website? Would people really flick through it before kick-off and at half-time? Would anyone subscribe to it? Would anyone remember to open it, or even be bothered to? Interesting that book sales are back up on a high, and vinyl records sales have apparently been rising over the past few years.

The programme has been an award winner for sure but could it be actually complementing towards the player budget?
