John Ward was a hard working servant of our club and he got fired. Maybe it’s not just managers who get sacked despite being liked and hard working. When was John Ward fired?

You can win all the awards going but if it's not making a profit its bad business......programmes sales have been in decline for years through out football and some smaller clubs are going to on line version only. Rumour on the other forum is that Roadmans ( poster) company are taking it over.

There was one interview that I saw where the owner was being more prattish than usual 'as I came up Gloucester road and got to the ground I felt like I had come home'....'Really'? said Brookman with a chuckle, maybe that was take 15 and Brookman had burst into hysterical laughter the other times (like most of us would except a few on here who would swoon and say 'oh wael your such a legend').

The entire identity of the club sitting on KB’s shoulders eh? Must have a couple of Mr Universe titles under his belt.
Onwards & upwards as they say, times a changing & if some of the club legends don’t fancy the ride, that’s up to them.
Roll on Posh.

The focus of time served isn't what's easing the door closer for some. Think about it. Think about what? Do tell, who is getting closer to the door? I won't tell a soul. But I was thinking more about Keith and Peter Aitken. No idea what Peter did wrong? Mike. I know we mess about and torment each other a bit on here, but for what it's worth, I think it's highly unlikely that they'll be able to maintain the standard of the Pirate without Keith. He doesn't know me, but when you next see him please thank him from me for all his work on the programme over the years. I know Keith well and will certainly pass on fans good wishes. His tremendous, selfless efforts in promoting the good things about the club through the programme and website are well known. His work load was particularly difficult but he always completed every task and perhaps now the Club will appreciate they lost a valuable asset. He wanted to continue but was not treated well like some others and felt enough was enough. Sad days indeed

I guess the people you are referring to were unaware that in order to successfully install electronic turnstiles you have to give a long serving member of staff their cards... I'm not quite sure the point you are trying to make, 'Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater' maybe? If that is the case, then yes I agree. You of all people should know not to trust a dirty Gorringe b@#tard 🍊🍊

Keith spent time calling me back to organise Ellis and Jake Gosling to present our boys awards night 2 years ago. I'll forever be in his debt. He was very professional and patient as we had a deadline and treated our club with great respect. Good luck and thank you.
A real club man

There wael only be a statement from the club is they are pressured into saying something by social media. Trouble is it will always come off that way, because the 'news' is leaked through social media and causes the fuss to begin with.
Without knowing the issues/discussions, who is to say the club and x employee in any given situation aren't trying to resolve any differences before anything is announced, whilst other people are spreading the news
Not true, social media only broke the story after Keith had resigned on Monday. True the issue arose some weeks before but not resolved.

Just because Keith resigned on Monday, doesnt necessitate an immediate press release or even make one appropriate. Things may have been going on for weeks, doesnt mean there still arent intentions from the club to sort something out, or processes to follow before it is announced Maybe the club dont even want to say anything, and they are within their rights not to (Doesnt mean I think its right, but the clubs perogative)

Tremendous tribute and comment about the situation on facebook. I must admit I dont know Jeff but sums up the position perfectly.
"Jeff Gwyther Terrible news. I have known Keith for around 35 years when we played at Stapleton AFC together. Always a real gentleman with blue and white quarters running through him. He had time for everyone, including a BCFC fan who he took pity on and married 😜. Keith personified everything good about the Rovers and the club will be a much poorer place without him. A multi-award winning programme, excellent media work and tireless behind the scenes graft. If he has been put in a position where he felt that he had no option but resign and cut his ties with the club, then matters must have been serious. This leaves a bitter taste when considering what sets us apart from the red half. Without people like Keith we would no longer have a club. I appreciate that times move on and we have to be more commercially savvy but those in the corridors of power should tread carefully in how they treat people like him. I hope the club at least have the decency to pay tribute to his service and reward his efforts in an appropriate way".

BRFC CLUB STATEMENT
The club's Head of Media Keith Brookman has left the club, after a dedicated and passionate 21 years of service.
Keith originally began as a programme contributor from about 1992, producing content for every edition up until 1997, at which point he became a full-time Rovers employee under the role of programme editor.
He later took on the roles of summarising on BBC Radio Bristol and becoming the club's Press Officer/Head of Media.
Keith built up an esteemed reputation for producing an award-winning matchday programme, increasing the content from 48 pages to 64 and then to 84.
He also worked very closely with the first team, travelling with them to all away games and acting as an unofficial player and staff liaison officer, assisting with tickets, travel and food.
As a result, Keith was the main port for communications between Darrell Clarke and the press, whilst also interviewing the Manager himself countless times for the matchday programme and website.
Darrell had this to say on Keith's departure from his position at the club; "Keith was an integral part of the staff at here at the club and you'd struggle to find someone with more commitment and love for Bristol Rovers.
"He's been here ever since I started working at the club and he will be sorely missed by everyone at the Memorial Stadium.
"He's become a personal friend of mine in the time that I've been here and it'll certainly remain that way despite his departure.
"We all wish him well for the future and hope to see him back at the Mem as a fan at some point."
The club would like to extend it's greatest thanks for all of Keith's hard work and effort over the years and wish him well for the future.
