Roses update. Even more are blooming today than yesterday. A riot of colour. Happy days. Oh yeah...UTG etc. Thank you for your roses update. It prompted me to listen to 'Good Year For The Roses' by Elvis Costello, which is an absolutely wonderful song Great tune from a great album. Guns and Roses, no thanks. Stone Roses? Spike Island..as Max Boyce might say: "I was there". Just pulled the late spring onions tonight. Nicer to eat, but nowhere near as fragrant. Err...That David Williams was good eh? There, the Rovers theme continues.

I agree great song, although Alison is the one for me.

I think in those days we sang about Aston Villa and Fulham because we were looking upwards, we were challenging them and believed we could compete with them. Today we are more likely to sing about Wycombe or Fleetwood because we are looking inwards, they are easier targets and we have lost the ability to challenge. Football is a business for gamblers. If our owners want to gamble some of their surplus cash, or find someone else with surplus cash who does, then we have a chance of reaching upwards once again. Gamble is a good word. What people are really saying to our owners is please give away about £80m which you probably will never get back just like most of the owners in the championship. Even when owners like lansdown and the brentford owner as well as countless others do spend crazy amounts of cash the fans still boo and demand better signings. Reference bristol city fans moaning about the january window and brentford fans booing the team despite the club spending 166% of their total turnover on players wages. Posters worrying about a £2m loss and a charge against the mem but at the same time demanding a new stadium which would cost £50m? and the owners would need to ensure the playing budget was good otherwise the new ground would be empty ish! What happens when your owners dont appear to want to throw big money away but own your club? Wasn't it WAQ who repeatedly stated the need for the club to have a new stadium? That sort or implies they were willing to invest in one, doesn't It? That didn't come from anyone on here demanding anything, but him. He's not saying that any more, so he's changed his mind? ....actually he's not saying anything any more as he gives about 2 interviews a year now.

So many words and so much guesswork on an Internet forum. Why don't some of you write to the Chairman with your concerns and questions? Try it. You will receive a prompt and courteous response. You will get that but you won’t feel that anything you asked about will have been answered

I dont blame him for not giving interviews, they only get twisted into negatives. Just hope he keeps improving the club and supporting the manager like he has from day one.

Do you think there is any limit to the amount of money Wael will put in to improve the club and support the manager ?

All i have seen is improvement at the club, something i never really saw anything of for a long time. Do you think there is any limit to how much money sheik mansour puts into man city or steve lansdown into bristol city? Nobody knows whats going to happen just like all things in life.

The improvements to the back room staff and the youth set up is really good. The temporary tent stands areca quick fix and welcome too, as well as the bar and toilet improvements too. What is very frustrating is the lack of news regarding the redevelopment of the stadium and the training facilities. The infrastructure is vital to the club and the lack of communication on these issues is concerning, given the length of time since the UWE collapse and the planning permission granted at the Colony to enable the club to proceed with its plans for the site.
