The number of other football clubs reportedly interested in signing Matty Taylor varies, but it seems to average out at just below double figures. And again the type of clubs that are allegedly interested in signing him seems to vary from the Championship up to the Premiership, and a couple of Scottish Premiership clubs thrown into the pot as well. His agent must be delighted, because if nothing else it provides Team Taylor with a good negotiating position. In any event he is now formally out of contract, and theoretically not earning any wages from BRFC. So the obvious question is, why on earth with the number of interested clubs together with the fact that he's now unemployed, didn't he do a Tom Parkes and sign a pre-contract deal with one of these other clubs?
I'm at a total loss to understand all of this, and have been since he took himself off to Edinburgh in January and allegedly signed a pre-contract deal. But as that didn't seem to be legally binding, and here we are in July, he has 101 offers on the table but prefers for the time being to sit his time out and wait.
Smoke and mirrors?

Where's the idea he's unemployed come from? He's out of contract, not released!

I feel like if he were about to sign for another club we would have seen at least one newspaper "is in talks with" article.

if he had knocked in half of those he should have [ or we thought he should have] then he would have been long gone, before the end of last season, my [little ] money is on,that he will be wearing rovers q's on the first day of the season.... IF DC has acquired another striker before then, i could see him take a u messed me attitude.. now i will mess you and see him [MT] play a "supporting role" if the possible new striker materialises Considering he was the leagues top scorer, if he had knocked in many more I would have thought the Premier League/La Liga and Bundesliga clubs would have been hammering the door down to get him! How many more do you think he should have scored?
that was not my point, not saying he should have scored more at all and as i only watched around 8 games in total i'm not qualified to judge, just saying IF he had put away what some think he should have[last day scenario for one... seen that..!!]then he would have been snapped up ages ago to a higher league club ,,,,,,the punters on here are looking for MT to either sign or move elsewhere..i'm not judging him at all it's up to him IF and WHEN he signs, some don't have any patience,... me... not bothered what way it goes, ,i daresay DC has an eye on a replacement IF required, but would think he would like some sign of sorts PDQ

I wonder if this could be another Billy Ocean aka Carl Saunders scenario where he rejected the clubs contract to lokk for another better offer, when it didn't materialise we had signed a replacement and he ended up nowhere, could happen again here

I await the news from either BRFC or Chewbacca - I have to say that they are both reliable sources. In fact BRFC have become slightly less reliable with both Taylor and stadium of late.
