Wael says he will take his time, review the current UWE agreement and see if it works, time is not an issue, he would like to own the land where he eventually builds both the new world class stadium and the football academy. If that is the case, then to me the UWE would not be the best option in town, I would imagine he will also be looking down the road at the vacant Rolls Royce site.

When a new Uni is started, it seems fair enough that the buildings etc are put up by the state but strange that it then owns all the land or does it?

Yes, of course: good luck / fortune favouring the brave / happenstance / fate / serendipity - call it what you will ... but not planned. Just saying - whatever anyone's opinion of the choices - that had NH accepted Sainsburys wanting to pull out (Nov. '13?), or thrown in the towel on the stadium plans at several junctures since, the status quo in both ownership and ground would most probably have remained. Quite possibly Concept or maybe the "Consortium" would have taken over. Happy days though. But if one of the other consortia had taken over tyhen the existing bans would not have been uplifted would they Kevin?

Hard to see why any new owner would have an interest in prolonging Higgs' petty vindictive sanctions, for which he never did, as far as I'm aware, produce any supporting evidence.

I think the vision of new stadium now is going to be a bit different to the original NH vision.

Maybe Ernie was very cross about something, and felt he had someone over a barrell You've got it. Bloody hell. In one of his final acts as a major shareholder he did the club a massive favour then. Not sure if that was his motive or just a bit of payback but it's fair to say we probably dodged a bullet there!

Not as long as you may think What do you know Henbury? Are you suggesting we may be in talks with south glos regarding an alternative site? Nothing definite from my good friend but a lot of talk in the office about alternative sites available if the UWE pull out. Apparently lots of land on the Ring road the Council own
