Investment or takeover? Doesnt matter to me,i just want my football club ran as a business, and ran properly. For too long we have been run by a group who whilst having the club interest at heart, appear bloody useless when it comes to commercial decisions and running a football club.
The son seems to be very western, having been educated in the UK and US, and would appear to have some sort of business acumin, as well as an interest in football (running FIFA (love em or hate em) projects in the middle east.
All this talk of changing nicknames, club colours, identity is to be quite frank a load of rubbish, not all overseas investors are the same, and comes down to some peoples prejudice towards 'foreigners' without understanding the simple fact everyone is different. This family may be raving basket cases! But we dont know that, the evidence would suggest otherwise, so lets wait and see. Exciting times.

One thing i don't understand in this is whatever the deal, level of investment or takeover is why do we fans think we are involved in this in any way?
whatever the announcement is in the press conference one thing is for sure the club will be different and its just a matter of how much, I just hope to those of us who've suffered the hard times that whatever it ends up looking like that its still recognisable as our club.
UTG!

My hope is it is a takeover and not investment. As far as I know, that could be wrong btw, this leaves NH at the helm. Please god no, I hope this is a takeover and the current board can return to being fans and Mr Bradshaw back to his flares and 1970's ideas of commerce and fashion We now see the estates of Ron Craig & Denis Dunford have been kept waiting, that alone makes me feel sick. I have had to deal with my parents wishes and made sure their every wish was done but I digress. Personally, I don't trust NH with anymore of the clubs asset and I think a total takeover is needed, by men who know how to deal with money and who have up to date ideas. My own experience with Arabs has been very good although none in this sphere of wealth. This is one of those times when I sincerely hope I am wrong. I really would like to see our current board gone, no more guest lists of friends to dine out at the clubs expense and no more boys club mentality. Fingers crossed we hear some great news. They wouldnt invest and leave someone else in charge of their money. Might remain as a non exec or have a say, but i am sure these sort of people would have their own men and call the shots Whilst I completely agree, I have seen and heard stuff that Maciavelli would be proud of. I hope you are right and that we don't see just the investment. I know many would welcome just the investment but I'm afraid that any trust I had, both that anyone at the club cares, has gone. I must say that the latest accounts certainly paint Geoff Dunford and his Mother as very patient and decent people, where the winding up of estate is concerned. Had he not blocked me on Twitter then I would message him and have some decent words. Here we go then, let's see how this goes

Nick looked a broken man at the Court hearings. If he gets his money back - and hands over to a new team with potentially big bucks to invest - He is out the door... I have said before that Nick looks to have aged and is not looking well. Whatever I or anyone may think, it must be a living hell to have had TRASH, Carstairs and Sainsburys to battle. I think it would have been wise, for him on a personal level, to have delegated and allowed in help but it seems he hasn't even wanted to hear of it. Life is short and if you have the wherewithal and money then enjoy it. I imagine he would like to spend more time in Italy and enjoy his life and wealth. I have never understood why he has been so insular where the running of the club is concerned. However I spin it, his time here has not been a good one. IF he manages to leave, with his money back and the club in good hands then I guess that would be a significant success when compared to his time as chairman

Bristol Rovers have confirmed they have been taken over by the Jordanian Al-Qadi family.
Wael Al-Qadi will become president of the club.
The family have taken a 92 per cent shareholding in the League Two club.
Former Swansea City chairman Steve Hamer is Rovers' new chairman, with Nick Higgs standing down.

Higgs confirms he, Barry Bradshaw, Chris Jelf, Colin Sexstone and Ed Ware will stand down from board. Supporters club directors Ken Masters and Brian Seymour-Smith remain on board.

At least we will get our new stadium now. I can't imagine the new owners buying it and not moving the club forward.
We all knew that the current board were incapable of making the big step (although their hearts were in it).
Exciting times!

I hope to see no more bannings, no more half truths and lies, no more sniping, no more incompetence but a genuinely inclusive club all on the same side all pulling together.
BSS has a big role to play in this and I do hope that his hands are untied and he is finally allowed to do what he was elected to do.
I'm delighted that Higgs, Watlola and Barry have gone.

Has Watola gone? Agree entirely re the bans. I'd hope that's the first thing that would be sorted. If not then the fans' directors can take a running jump, once and for all.
