Let's be careful what we wish for, if this 'investment' takes the form of a loan we could be storing up trouble for the future.

I'm pretty excited about this to be honest. Nervous obviously, but it's got to be better than what we've been doing for the last decade. If the UWE gets built and we get rid of the wonga-esque loan then it's hard to see it as too negative. Sure we may end up with more debt, but these guys are respected bankers and you'd have to hope that if that was the case then the club would get relatively favourable terms and a sensible structure in terms of finance going forward.
Of course I'm actually hoping that Wael comes to the press conference with a large gold suitcase hand-cuffed to his wrist and flops out forty million quid onto the table. Come on lad, you know it makes sense!

Chris Spittles on Twitter saying he's hearing this is not just an investment but a full takeover with 'virtually all' current Board members walking away and becoming normal 'fans' ... interesting if true!

Strangely I'm now slightly scared by the thought of Higgs leaving the board now it's been suggested! Would have been comforting to have someone with a bit of rovers knowledge and history in the mix with the new foreign crew, at least for the first year.
I'll just go and wash my mouth out with soapy water now!

They will have to keep at least one proper board member (prolly Tony the Till), as in any takeover it's important to know which closet the skeletons are in and where the bodies are buried.

IF by some miracle this investment is happening can we be hopeful that it will be a good deal as NH has allegedly turned away deals that are not good for the club?

As you say, he may have some important info that needs to be brought to the attention of any new investor/owner.

'kin hell. This looks real.
Hopefully this will be a great new chapter for the club, but just in case, anyone want to scout out possible grounds for FC Rovers of Bristol?

On balance, if the choice is between the incompetent fools we have now or potentially utter b*stards taking us over, I'll take the utter b*stards every time. At least if it all goes tits up the fanbase might be able to unite against the new lot if it does all go wrong, which is more than can be said for the last 15 years.

To be fair - if the incompetent fools have actually engineered an escape route than gives them back their money and we have new (potentially very wealthy) investors... then I'm happy for all concerned. "Higgs leaves with credibility and wealth intact" shocker!

It's a shame that we will never know what the other offers were (if there were others) so that we could judge which was the best offer for the club but if this was the only offer on the table then I agree with you. At least the worst chairman in the clubs history will soon be history.

Well it's a done deal then in that case! Interesting story, let's see what happens now. After decades of following Rovers every single time we hear of a new fairy story type takeover or a fantasy new ground like many I take it with a shovel of salt. After all, nothing has happened yet in my 50+ years of life so far. If this is true and it is close then lets hope these people really are the rightful heirs of BRFC and will not run it as some vanity project like so many other clubs have had the sad misfortune to experience over the years. It's nice to dream but lets just see what happens. UTG. My hope is it is a takeover and not investment. As far as I know, that could be wrong btw, this leaves NH at the helm. Please god no, I hope this is a takeover and the current board can return to being fans and Mr Bradshaw back to his flares and 1970's ideas of commerce and fashion We now see the estates of Ron Craig & Denis Dunford have been kept waiting, that alone makes me feel sick. I have had to deal with my parents wishes and made sure their every wish was done but I digress. Personally, I don't trust NH with anymore of the clubs asset and I think a total takeover is needed, by men who know how to deal with money and who have up to date ideas. My own experience with Arabs has been very good although none in this sphere of wealth. This is one of those times when I sincerely hope I am wrong. I really would like to see our current board gone, no more guest lists of friends to dine out at the clubs expense and no more boys club mentality. Fingers crossed we hear some great news.

They wouldnt invest and leave someone else in charge of their money. Might remain as a non exec or have a say, but i am sure these sort of people would have their own men and call the shots

Nick looked a broken man at the Court hearings. If he gets his money back - and hands over to a new team with potentially big bucks to invest - He is out the door...

Would have been comforting to have someone with a bit of rovers knowledge and history in the mix with the new foreign crew, at least for the first year. I'll just go and wash my mouth out with soapy water now! Really ? my own opinion is that Nick has frittered away nearly everything we have and, instead of delegating, he has continued to dig the hole that he started off. My opinion is that the debt is more than money if you get my drift and that we are perilously close to admin if we did not accept outside investment/takeover. As I have heard it, this is the second consortium/group & are paying the debts to the board to the penny but, again, that could be wrong. I am also told that even with this announcement, it doesn't mean the first group are finished. I cannot get further detail or I would post it. I am tried of the secrecy and undisclosed nonsense. I mean, would you REALLY and honestly want Nick to stay and to further complicate things and make it harder for new people to clear the decks and push on ? I hope that Chris Spittles source is right and I also hope that the current board can enjoy watching the team and support from the terraces or seats. Nick Higgs has aged considerably and it must be very tough on him, knowing what a right balls up he has made. Black Arabs anyone ? No ? Lol UTG. I sincerely hope this is for the best and on a personal note I will get to see some good happen sooner than later. Some of us don't have the luxury of time on our side. I bet we get a huge crowd on Saturday now. I am feeling nervous & excited at the same time
