Do you really believe us to still be a family club ? Since NH came in we have been ruled by a paranoid man who disengaged from us and rules as a . He has told us as much by his saying without me there would be no Rovers. GD was much the same only a less brusque nature. We have lost direction years ago and have been ripped apart. The fans are the only constant and that would not change. With the right leadership/funds, we have a great potential but our board have never used any merchandising or shown any nous in dealing with people. We stopped being the family club years ago IMO. We are on the brink of admin yet still many actively choose to still back a man who has been so negligent and bullish that it's beyond any words I have. Spot on Jules....
Are you and I really in such a minority of people that see this..... so many on here 'dancing to the song and lies' still coming out of Box One.
I think that, as in my facets of life, people choose to go with the lie as it is more comfortable to do so. In much the same way as people don't like change as they view it with suspicion, many choose to keep up the charade of having a gas head as our chairman being the better of the evils. Just my opinion though. I certainly would be happy to see new investment and even if hedge fund. The level of professionalism would be better. Let's face it, it really couldn't be any worse than the truly abysmal Barry Bradshaw and his 1970's merchandising ethos and a chairman who, on the face of it really doesn't like the horrid and intrusive fans. How dare we question him. The brass neck on us to not just accept his incredible vision & foresight it stuns me that some still believe this family club nonsense, the only thing keeping us together is the superb and loyal fans. I note that GD is starting to rev up again on Twitter. It really dim founds me that some still really get angry and defend the man but each to their own. I am just going to be a fan again and not get into the arguments. I still feel quite stupid at being taken in by some and then being their weapon of choice to put out the disinformation they filled me with.

im sure the Bournemouth fans couldn't give a stuff who owns the club, they, the fans, like us, have been brought up on a pitifully low level of success over the last few decades, the Cherry's supporters are just living the dream, sure, if it goes tits up then they will tumble back down the leagues, providing those who take over a club do it for the right reasons I'm prepared to have a non Bristolian running my football club!!!

If NH wins the Sainsbury's case will anybody real complain that he ran up debts of around £5m to win the club £30m? The club could still have been ran better. Those arguments arent voided because.we won the lottery

Nick's record speaks for itself, but we are talking about a football club, so the use of words such as '' isn't really justified.
I doubt very much that the FC will be put into administration any time soon. The FC may not but its parent 1883 Ltd which owns the ground might....

The point is we might end up with a shiny stadium,.doesnt mean the club will suddenly be run any differently by the current incumbents

If you're believing that is the likeliest outcome because you believe that would protect the football club from points deduction etc then I think you will find the Football League has already blown that out of the water in dealing with Coventry's problems in the past. Either company goes into administration we will be hit with the appropriate penalties

They wouldn't relinquish control of the stadium due to internal debt and I can't see how, regardless of the outcome with Sainsbury's, even if we lose and end up having to pay Sainsbury's costs, the external debt will be even half of the value of the stadium?

Regardless of the outcome the bridging finance company will want their money back. If we default and fail to pay on the day the penalties will no doubt be horrendous. The Mem isn't worth £30mln or necessarily £15mln, it is only worth what someone will pay for it and in a fire sale that will probably struggle to cover all of our debt. The Administrator will be looking to get the money back for the bridging finance company not make friends....

But, I wasn't assuming that the site was worth £30m, my gut feeling is somewhere between £8m~10m for residential development.
With the only significant external debt being £2m to Wonga, and in a worst case scenario situation we are saddled with our own legal costs and those of Sainsbury's, maybe add another £2m, that's still only half of the value of the site.
I know that Nick has made some odd decisions, but surely even he wouldn't put a company into administration so that he could pay the administrators a hefty percentage to fire-sale the asset and then pay him back out of whatever funds remain?

My thoughts exactly. He may well be a novice when it it comes to being the chairman of a football club, but he ain't daft. Whatever our views of him, he has proved that much in his ''real'' life.

I assume that it was him who signed the contract with Sainsbury's and didn't tie up the loose ends of any PP appeal being sighted and agreed by the vendor?
Sat behind that, whilst I'm not daft enough to think for a second that people like Carstairs can be totally controlled, with better PR and managing the relationships with local residents and traders, the impact that minority groups such as TRASH can have could certainly have been minimised.

You've quite possibly misunderstood the point that I was attempting to make Bamber. When I referred to NH's ''real'' life I was referring to his time pre-BRFC (Cowlins), and not to his time at the helm of BRFC. Or if it comes to that . . . at any time in his involvement with our beloved club. One (kind) word on that episode to date, misguided.

That's exactly right Bamber And I dont know for sure, but think the original Mem development was on Cowlin's order book when he sold it And it was a significant value, I seem to recall. I could be wrong, of course
