Just been for a nosey on their forum. They're reporting huge sales of seats in the stand and the same anecdotal tales of Gasheads buying up tickets.
Their relative naivety about big crowds, segregation etc is actually quite endearing

It was never going to be easy. FGR have given the club 750 tickets and we have thousands of supporters, raffle ticket or not, which was a fiasco, I have a ST and go home and away, but when demand out strips supply, I know I might not get a ticket. IMO its not BRFCs fault, I just hope we only give FGR 705 tickets for the return leg, UTG

Ordinarily I would agree with you. However, because of the proximity of FGR and their relatively small fan base, it was obvious to anyone with half a brain, that as demand would easily outstrip supply for away tickets, many away supporters would attempt to get tickets for the home section, so why not just give us a bigger allocation anyway?
All spilt milk now anyway. However, I can reveal that one well known forumer lives in Leyhill (in a house not the nick) , and I am willing to sell his address details for a couple of pints of Doombar.

Surely they just got to count fingers to distinguish home fans?!! We have got fans in that part of the world you know. I spoke to two old fella's in the queue at FGR when we played them earlier in the season and they told me they used to be Gas season ticket holders in the 1950's when a bus would go around the villages and pick people up and go to Eastville. ahhhhh nostalgia......... but in the 50's they were all Bristol Rovers supporters........ not a gashead in sight......the phrase hadn't been invented then!!!

IMO its not BRFCs fault, I just hope we only give FGR 705 tickets for the return leg, UTG I think everybody was aware that there were more priority 1 fans than tickets, which means that the club should have ensured that those who got to The Mem early were the ones who actually got tickets. By the time you take comps and corporates out of the equation, they probably had less than 600 to sell, so it would not have taken that long to sell them from one place, particularly with a lot of people purchasing more than one ticket. If it had been managed efficiently, those who missed out would be disappointed, but not p*ssed off with the club (yet again). There is no point blaming FGR, they are doing what they think is best for enhancing their own chances of winning on Wednesday - it was up to Rovers to manage the sale of the tickets. I believe that clubs have to give a certain % of ground capacity to the visiting club, so in our case, that will exceed 750.

You got there at 2 expecting to get away tickets? ? I couldn't get there before 2, I assumed they would have gone but I would have kicked myself if they hadn't and I didn't go up. Sorry, no harm intended.

I don't really understand the issue here. There were only 800 tickets available so it was going to be impossible to keep everyone happy and always likely to be quite chaotic surely. I also don't understand why FGR are being hammered for only giving us 800 - if they think they can sell out their ground then surely they are fully entitled to retain as many as possible for their own fans and offer us only the necessary minimum. If we drew Man United in the FA Cup would be people be saying that we should offer their fans half our ground on the basis that there are a lot of them? After all this is possibly the biggest game in their history and presumably a great opportunity for them to market their club. They don't owe us anything. People are frustrated they didn't get tickets that's understandable, but to be honest it is hard to see how this could have been done in a completely fair way.

It may be possible to keep everyone happy, but the issue is that we are light years behind where we should be from an administrative point of view. This has been glossed over due to success on the pitch this year, but we have not won anything nor have we been promoted, yet.
The Club Shop & Ticketing is run like a shop off a village green, it is not fit for a club of our size and while not the reason why we are in the conference, this whole side of the public facing side of our club is a small part of why smaller more organised outfits are outperforming us. Clubs that are run properly, vs us.
As soon as there is any spike in demand, they can't deal with it.
In fairness to the club, the Twitter feed and media output has improved dramatically in the past year. I think this was due to a change in personnel managing this.
In addition though, Forest Green are clearly playing a game of trying to keep us quiet. They don't care if they will have 2,000 empty spots. They would rather that than give us the boost of a fantastic atmosphere & away following.
