Fair enough, a few will be reserved for people who watch from boxes, players' families etc, but before they opened the doors they will have known how many tickets were available, they will have handed out the same number of raffle tickets, so how do you end up with people holding raffle tickets but no match tickets left? A. People may have got their tickets without being given a raffle ticket B. people picking up tickets for others, say for 5/6 people would only have taken one raffle ticket I presume? C. Perks of the job maybe? lets take the blinkers off for a minute and have a little think....
So you don't know. I can guess without your help, I wanted to understand what actually happened. And this from the person who was accusing other people of being condenscending earlier today on a different thread.

I went up early today, left Weston at 8am in the queue from 8:45, got handed a raffle ticket for every season ticket I wished to redeem for an away forest green ticket which was 2.
I was then told to go round to the ticket office by the west enclosure to get tickets for the home leg and away leg.
When I got to the window the guy asked me for my raffle tickets before handing over the away tickets, however I did get the last two!

As always you choose to ignore what people tell you and come back with a politicians answer. As for accusing people of being condescending, that is utter tripe as you well know. It is ONLY YOU I accuse of that Take it or leave it buit you will be kept guessing....again!

So, you want to drag another thread down to petty personal bickering, no surprises there then. No, you don't know, you have guessed, again. Or at least that's what you have said. I'll remind you, Firstly you suggest that some tickets may have been misappropriated, right here. hope you have some evidence to back that claim up, then you say, I'll have to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that you do understand the meaning of the word ''may'', so, summary, you don't know. Anyway, other people don't want to put up with this nonsense, so I apologise to anyone trying to find out what actually went wrong with ticket collection today, but I seem to have my very own forum stalker. You can have the last word, then people can get back to discussing the Rovers without being bored to death by this childish drivel.

Well that's two of you now that have confirmed what was supposed to have happened did but that still doesn't explain why others didn't have the same experience. You can only assume whoever was handing out the 'raffle' tickets didn't realise all the away tickets had already been sold. I do feel sorry for those who had to queue and if they had been handed 'raffle' tickets with the expectation that would get away tickets. I certainly can empathise with their disappointment when they found out their queuing was in vain.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention...Our tickets were sorted very `professionally` by the way

Just spoke to my old man on the phone who successfully got tickets and his experience seems quite similar to Rex's.
He arrived at 9.30 and estimated there were about 50-70 in the queue, there were apparently some ridiculously ambiguous signs put up, but the message from club officials was clear. All away tickets from Pirate Leisure and for the home leg seated tickets would also be Pirate Leisure and terrace would be from the ticket office. After a lot of people in the queue complained at the prospect of queuing twice they relented on this and you could buy either from PL.
Raffle tickets were given out, but they weren't seen as a guarantee of getting a ticket, merely so they could alert people if they were too far back in the queue to get a ticket.
As I said he eventually got a ticket and until I spoke to him he had no knowledge of any problems but from what I'm gathering on here on social media, people who waited at the ticket office were allowed to buy away tickets and people 'in the middle' so to speak lost out despite arriving earlier.
As Bamber has suggested (despite the fact I have no idea why he's getting so passionately involved if he isn't planning on going) the principle of the raffle tickets was a good one. Have as many printed as there were tickets, but issue a disclaimer on the last 20 or so that there was a potential of a miscount and their tickets weren't guaranteed. Sell all away tickets from Pirate Leisure, anyone getting away could also get a home from there (presumably 99% of those getting aways will be getting homes as well) and whilst there would be some disappointment from those who missed out they could direct them to the ticket office to get a home ticket in a minimal queue so their journey wouldn't be completely wasted.
TBH whilst we can complain, did anyone expect any different? Okay we can't be too harsh on the staff as they're going to be volunteers/minimum wage but it seems like there are plenty of people with far better commercial awareness that would like to be involved but it seems to be a completely closed shop.

I would have thought it was obvious that those who secured tickets would not think that the operation was a "shambles", as they were lucky enough to not get stung by the club deciding to start selling the away tickets from two different places, which led to some of those with raffle tickets missing out.

Well I knew exactly where to go- I asked someone rather than listen to what other people in the queue were saying. The raffle tickets were handed out to ensure that people didn't queue when they had no chance of a ticket.
How dare you bring accuracy, listening skills, and information into this argument! Bottom line is this. some people in life are accurate people, who value accurate information. They tend to be the ones vaguely happy. Others don't. They tend to be the ones always unhappy and always wanting to blame others. Whingers gonna whinge. It's here - it honestly is - www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/play-off-ticket-information-2423764.aspx#KQgoq7uRdLkJoOpD.99You're not being accurate, and you're blaming others for getting it wrong. So that's pretty ironic.

Yeah, I'm a bit amazed at the 'I got my ticket therefore the system was flawless' sort of posts. But more amazed at the 'Someone else got a ticket, and even though I wasn't there, I'm therefore just gonna assume the system was flawless and insult anyone who complains' posts.

But that's not true, coz they were seen as a guarantee.

But that's not true, coz they were seen as a guarantee. Why? the bloke handed them out made it clear to us that they were handing them out to gauge roughly where they could say to people 'you are wasting your time queueing'
