When Jermaine Easter signed for us I was absolutely delighted, after all a Conference League team signing a former international player that still had a few seasons in him is to be applauded. The fact that he was injured for much of the remainder of the season was unfortunate, both for him and the club, but it was noticeable that he took a full part in the Wembley celebrations, so clearly he was still ''with'' us and not sulking somewhere or another. All players go through bouts of injury during their career, it goes with the territory, but very often it's a case of how they deal with it. I remember posting at some point in the close season that his goals would be vital for us this term, so I was a little concerned that when the season did get underway that he appeared to be a little sluggish. But the manager told us that he was not 100% fit, and that as his fitness returned so would his form . . . and goalscoring. And the managers confidence in the player has been vindicated. Looking forward he signed an 18-month contract when he joined us, so theoretically this will be his last season here. But given his age and experience I believe that his career could be extended beyond the end of the season by using him in a slightly deeper role. So long as he remains fit and energetic, and has the desire to play for us then I can see him being here for a couple more years at least. I still laugh at DCs biggest sycophant who praised DC for taking him off as a precaution when every normal person could see by easters reaction it was a serious injury.

Are the minutes of our board meetings available anywhere ? Why would they be available? It's a private limited company. In fact no company would publish the minutes of a board meeting unless forced to by a court

Really.
There were the usual internet trolls who kicked up a fuss on some forums, but openly admitted that they were NOT members of BRSC and had no intention of joining.
There was no animosity to Rod at the AGM, everyone listened to what he had to say and then voted. The overwhelming majority of BRSC members who voted, sent their votes by post and could only decide on what each candidate said in their printed speeches.
As I have said many times before, the overwhelming majority of fans do not bother to read the postings on forums so the comments on here and elsewhere have very little influence.
Thanks for clarifying and on making a couple of things clearer. I was under the impression that Rod was given an hard time. I'm not sure about abuse but he was given a lack of support by most people on here who complain about the current supporters directors.

I was under the impression that this is being discussed by a well known Gashead and he has been speaking directly to Sabadell directors and DC is up for this. As with all pre-season friendlies the cost are usually met by the opposition, unless it is a local team like Bath, Mangotsfield or Clevedon. Big thumbs up to John Kayes then

If everyone 'pretends' there're not going the price could be down to 50p by Saturday. I'm definitely not going at those extortionate prices....

With all this talk of Shares, I have some questions. Do you think my 5x10p shares could swing the balance between selling to the Consortium, or fighting them off? Is there a chance that my five shares could hold the balance of power? Should I expect a phone call from the Consortium? What will you do with your 5 x the offer price for those shares? Ate there penny ships in kraut land? More importantly what provision was put in the sharescheme to use any windfall from the sale of those shares?

Correct, never seen anything in the sharescheme that allowed for the issue of new shares There is a motion at every BRFC AGM to confirm that the shareholders are happy to allow new shares to be issued, this gets passed unopposed, but as far as I am aware there has not been an increase in shares over recent years.
There are, of course, shares held by ex Directors that could be redistributed with the permission of the Company Secretary acting on behalf of the Chairman, if they want to sell them.
There could also be enough shares in issue but not yet called up. The point I was making was the sharescheme never had a mechanism to participate in another issue of shares so the holding would always be diluted. Think if remember what Oldie was saying awhile ago originally they planned a clause so the SC would have a blocking vote to stop the issue of new shares which by extention would've blocked any new shares being sold to raise capital. All in all one of many foreseeable problems with the sharescheme

I see where you're coming from there Jeff. I think that we're all going to have to keep our heads down, and weather the storm . . . wherever we happen to be. Bad times eh? It's alright for you lot I happen to live in Wales I mean even my Welsh grandchildren were dressed in Aussie tee shirts Every Welsh fan I know has another country they support. I've always put it down to a lack of confidence. Still its win, win for them this Saturday

To be strictly accurate the director who converts his loan to shares will increase his share of the business and all other shareholders will have their share of the business reduced. However many shares are issued it remains a fact that there is still only 100% of the business to own. Thanks - what I meant but better put. and indicates why the sharescheme suffered Correct, never seen anything in the sharescheme that allowed for the issue of new shares

The accounts are quite confusing as you need to look at the group position ie football club, stadium co and holding co so 3 sets of figures to go through. From memory, the latest set includes a note referring to the MSP loan being take out after the accounting period end and what it was used for. There are also notes referring to preference shares and interest bearing directors loans although (unconfirmed as far as I'm aware) it has been said that some, if not all, of the directors are waiving the interest payments that are due to them. We do know that some of Higgs loans have been converted to share capital so in that context they were and are now interest free. Not confusing at all. Loans and bonds which directors held/hold are subject to interest of 2.5 to 4%. Interest added to directors account for drawing when appropriate. Loans converted to share capital increases the shareholders share of the business. To be strictly accurate the director who converts his loan to shares will increase his share of the business and all other shareholders will have their share of the business reduced. However many shares are issued it remains a fact that there is still only 100% of the business to own.

All very well intentioned ampg but the phrase 'beggars can't be choosers' comes to mind. Any investors in football would fail any criteria I would come up with because football is a bad investment full stop. I quite liked your post after I got past that Private Fraser 'we're all dooooooomed' opening Far from doomed there seems to be a near inexhaustible supply of successful businessmen who act completely irrationally when the 'opportunity' comes up to invest in football and create a small fortune

What u can hope is that any investors have a gashead at heart amongst them, other than that we have to hope NH if he sells can put some legal safeguards into the deal. For me that would be contractually binding them to build a stadium because once it's built it becomes pretty useless to anyone bar the owners of Bristol Rovers unless the leaseholder UWE allowed a change of use for the site.

Puts things into perspective doesn't it? The buyer rarely stumps up all the cash on day one. Initial investment will be just enough to take control then the rest is pledged in stages. There are definitely some chancers around, remember the Man U guy who came onto the pitch at Old Trafford and kicked a ball around to rapturous applause and a hero's welcome? He didn't have a pot to piss in but he talked a great game. I'm afraid that, if there is a consortium, these ex Swindon clowns are probably the people behind it. I'm sure they are promising great things but Higgs is right to be sceptical. What a shame I was actually getting quite excited. I suppose the big question which needs to be now answered by those ITK is whether this is last summer failed consortium attempt, which was apparently B'ham, or a completely new one not involving the likes of Jed McCrory? Interesting question as the Company was originally incorporated in September 2014 as Bluebeard Ltd and changed to its current very specific name in July 2015
