Does one former club and a loan spell by age 24 really befit "journeyman" status on Matt Taylor when he joined us?

Ok, let's just say he was a late starter. His first crack at league football didn't work out. He could easily have spent the rest of his playing days in the Conference or below, though, if DC hadn't decided he was capable of more.

When Jermaine Easter signed for us I was absolutely delighted, after all a Conference League team signing a former international player that still had a few seasons in him is to be applauded. The fact that he was injured for much of the remainder of the season was unfortunate, both for him and the club, but it was noticeable that he took a full part in the Wembley celebrations, so clearly he was still ''with'' us and not sulking somewhere or another. All players go through bouts of injury during their career, it goes with the territory, but very often it's a case of how they deal with it. I remember posting at some point in the close season that his goals would be vital for us this term, so I was a little concerned that when the season did get underway that he appeared to be a little sluggish. But the manager told us that he was not 100% fit, and that as his fitness returned so would his form . . . and goalscoring. And the managers confidence in the player has been vindicated.
Looking forward he signed an 18-month contract when he joined us, so theoretically this will be his last season here. But given his age and experience I believe that his career could be extended beyond the end of the season by using him in a slightly deeper role. So long as he remains fit and energetic, and has the desire to play for us then I can see him being here for a couple more years at least.

Why should this be his last season just because he's out of contract? He's not that old!

What I was trying to say (albeit in a very clumsy manner it's true), is that Jermaine Easter is contracted to BRFC till the end of this season, but by using him in a different role his time here could well be extended beyond that time. I then finished off by saying that . . . But I think that we are both singing from the same hymn sheet anyway, aren't we?

That's such a disappointment to me, and I try so hard too.

How much is Bodin's inclusion in the team pulling markers away from Taylor and Easter, giving them a bit more time on the ball?

I still laugh at DCs biggest sycophant who praised DC for taking him off as a precaution when every normal person could see by easters reaction it was a serious injury.

I know you are saying that, tongue in cheek, all you need to do is visit the other forum and see how that often deteriorates into some very personal abuse, sometimes threat and a real nastiness. I am glad the mods here take it more seriously. There is still dry wit aplenty and some very good analysis by many. I know I posted about that place yesterday so maybe some would think I have a chip on my shoulder but I am saying this because I don't think that many here really appreciate the decent job the mods do. This place is more like the Telegraph, to gas chats Sun.

I know we're way off topic here, apologies to o p.
Obviously there are some bi-forum (for want of a better expression) members, but is the main difference between Chat & Guzzler the age difference?
I'm not on other forum but admit to lurking sometimes..

I know a few left, like me, due to threads imploding and having a good amount of true internet trolls. The place started well, it was mainly made up of many of us, that used the now closed official forum and who were founder members of the fans forum supporters club. I am glad that this was salvaged, in part due to the new place coming into play.
