I'm pretty sure Darrell was pleased to see the back of him. Wasn't JJOT on the team sheet at that away game to Portsmouth near the end of that season and then didn't come out of the tunnel because of a changing room bust up?

I remember leaving that Braintree game and seeing a guy leaving with his 3 under 10 year old kids thinking that's one hell of a journey back home after that. Made me feel worse.
Someone else who was speaking as if they were ITK saying Darryl would be leaving on Monday.
SInce then it's just got better and better - hopefully those three kids were at the Dagenham game.

I have the utmost respect for anyone who steps up to take a pen in a shoot-out, especially non-regular goalscorers like Balanta. Balls of steel on a stage like that!! I honestly don't understand all this big balls crap. They are pro football player, not Sunday league pub drinkers. If they can't stick the ball in the net more times than not then they shouldn't even bother. Just my opinion Just like most of us can walk along a scaffolding plank held up by a brick at each end without ever falling off. Put the plank in between two sky scrapers, different story.

To be fair to the OP, Darrell himself will know luck has been involved. He got us into the position where luck could make a significant difference (as someone else said "you make your own luck") whether that is a Wembley penalty shoot out or final game where a winner is needed against a relegated team. How much could he be blamed if one of our players ballooned it last May or if Browner had tripped over his right foot last Sat? It is a human tendency to blame success on skill and failure on bad luck. My sense is DC is confident but self aware and this will play a huge part in any future success.

What's the story with the Dutch Gas? Gas-exiles or Dutch Dutch? (and if so how did it happen?)
The tent end was relatively lively last weekend so don't feel inhibited.

Only visit was to the wet one for the FA cup before Christmas 2013. Went straight from work and was wearing a wool coat - can smell that damp wool whilst thinking about it now. The other reason to remember that night is that it marked the start of the monsoon season that was the winter of 13/14. Seemed like it didn't stop raining 'til April after that game.

Sitting in the South stand won't help, the people around you have a huge impact on your perceptions.
I noticed our away attendance at Luton and Cambridge were about the same (felt like we had twice as many at Luton). Luton we were crammed in, low roof, noisy, electric. Cambridge, acres of space, crowd spread out, action a long way away, dullish atmosphere. Obviously more reasons why the games might feel different but also highlights why South stand might feel different than the North terrace, even 20 years apart.

Brought a friend to their second Rovers game - the first was v. Eastleigh 6 months ago. Oh dear.
She loves the idea of Rovers but after two disastrous dates how many chances will Rovers get?
This was my first home game of the season - atmosphere v poor versus the away games (Luton, Mansfield etc). Friend was disappointed at lack of vocal support and wondered why people went (esp. given the high prices) and didn't get behind their team. The best I could suggest (politely) was that when you have gone to hundreds of games rather than two the excitement fades a bit, and that away games are better. This was at 1-1.
I'll be at Cambridge for the next episode. Can't wait to see what happens next....

Adam Virgo - whenever I see him on TV he always looks like someone caught by the husband coming home unexpectedly early. Decidedly shifty.

I've got another one come free for North Terrace, mate now has to stay at home and look after the kids while his wife studies for an exam. He admits it is a bit pathetic.
PM if you are interested.
