Having followed us for many a year always felt we never quite got the rub of the green in big games Ipswich at home in the cup Huddersfield at Wembley and a few more but it seems our man has had a few things go his way and I hope it long continues but now we are up have we got the experience in our management team when the going gets tough as dc steve Yates and Marcus are all quite young do we need to bring in someone to guide them when the pressures on ? Wael seems to bringing in top notch experts in every department and I would hate to see Darell struggle and then find himself in danger because all we have seen so far is the nice side of our owner but I think he will be ruthless if neccesary having tasted success I think he has a taste for it now

DC and staff have done amazingly well.
I'm sure he will attract higher clubs than L1 based on what he has done in the last 2 years, so why change anything?

I don't see anyone saying this about Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. It wasn't luck that got us here but the phenomenal team spirit and togetherness that Darrell has developed. Change the dynamic and you risk losing that completely

Not necessarily, I go out on the pull every weekend but unfortunately still end up going home to the same missus.

No disrespect, but this madness, especially after years of crap managers. In what way have they shown they need someone to guide them? Who you gonna call? John Ward?

To guide them when the pressures on?
They handled the most pressured moment in our history, getting back into the league at the frost first attempt. You don't get back to back promotions by being lucky, we have consistently been a top team under DC.

The one sure way to piss off the best manager we have had for decades is to say to him, "We dont think you are good enough so we have brought someone in to help you"
Crazy, crazy, crazy idea.
He was dead unlucky in 2014, lucky to win the penalty shoot out in 2015 and this year we did the business. No luck, we were unlucky not to score a hatful on Saturday. His team coped with the pressure and finished like a steam train, others around us didnt. Thats not luck.

Given that football is 22 blokes kicking around a bouncing ball, all promoted teams have has some luck go their way, which is one reason why you can't judge someone after just a couple of games, or over a couple of points. Its also hard to prove a correlation in anything (the old 'ice cream causes heat stroke' paradox). But over 2 seasons of football, I think you can show a statistical trend, and the fact is that we've been in the right part of the league to take advantage of any luck we've had each season.
That's all a manager can really do.

I think we were lucky not to score loads on Saturday, had we gone in at half time 3-1 up, Accy would have known and would have piled forward, and most likely scored, as it was, going into injury time, they didn't know whether to stick or twist. It worked out perfectly. Totally agree with your closing comment. Our manager lucky? Not having that, maybe at Wembley the ref made a couple of calls that went our way, but you don't get lucky over 2 full seasons.

No, Darrell hasn't been lucky, we have.
We've sat around as fans and let this club decay into an utter mess, we're lucky that Darrell was brought in by John Ward, we're lucky that he was made manager, we're lucky he wasn't sacked, we're lucky that we've seen the most productive 12 months in the history of the club, we're lucky Darrell has led us to a position where we were ripe for a take over and we're lucky to have him.

I see that Everton will soon be looking for a new manager, or has he been tapped-up already? That isn't to be taken seriously as regards DC by the way, I really can't believe that people are speculating so soon after a promotion. Leave well alone I say. Besides how on earth does anyone know what the President is thinking about anything? Idle gossip and speculation is quite unneccessary at the moment. We should still be in elated mode.

I want managers and players Rovers careers to be measured in years not months. At one point Higgs was averaging two managers a season, and look how that fared. Let's make gas heroes. Back to back promotions sounds like a good start.

Back to back promotions sounds like a good start.Exactly. The Club President is happy, the Club Chairman is happy, and the manager appears to be happy, and is already talking about getting back to work after his holiday. I've also heard him talking about the 4-5 players that he'd like to bring to the club, so he clearly intends to honour his rolling one-year contract and may even be tempted by the improved contract that has been hinted at by club officials. What/where is the problem?
