My concern with this change is that we may start to drop deep. Northampton just need one set piece around the box.

Come on gas, what are you made of? We never score late goals. Make today the day.

Change of shape and we concede. How many times has that happened recently?

Upson hits the woodwork, off the goalie, corner and nothing a foul.

Change of shape and we concede. How many times has that happened recently? This team is so fragile its nothing short of stupidity to alter anything if they are holding their own. 10 mins to sort it out. Table not looking good right now.

I like McWilliams for Northampton. Very good on the ball.

What concerned me about changing to 5-3-2 is that we were in control of the game with the previous system. We weren't leading against the run of play. Now, Northampton are suddenly all over us and we have limited creative options in midfield.

... and here's a last-minute free kick in the type of position Wigan had against us at the Mem.

Still,4 points from the last 2 games keeps us in the scrap.

Todays results were as bad as last weeks were good.
We are helpless on Tuesday night so fingers crossed that results go our way.

And Wigan put Rovers beating Doncaster into perspective by smashing them 4-1, at Doncaster, that puts Wigan above Rovers on goals scored.
Was a good day 15 mins ago, stupid substitution that didn't need making handed Northampton a 3 point swing. But never mind, Joey Joey, Rah Rah...

Doncaster are shot and have collapsed since Darren Moore left.
We can only hope that Crewe & MK Dons are in a similar frame of mind; and that Lincoln, Portsmouth and Blackpool find the pressure of securing a play-off place causes them to implode as well!
10 points minimum from our last 5 games. I think it's asking too much.

Stats for Northampton Town are - P103, W37, D28, L38 - We have won 7-1, 6-0, 5-0 & 5-4, we have lost 6-1, 6-0 & 5-0 and had a 3-3 draw. We have not lost in our last 7 matches with them, this fixture goes all the way back to Jan 1908 winning in the FA Cup 0-1. The stats held up today for once - 8 matches now unbeaten against them, might not be good enough but a point is a point, better than a loss.

Not just pointing out the mistakes Joey makes that costs us points, but pointing out the mistakes Joey makes to cost us points days before he makes them. Unlike BBC commentator, I think we did enough today for win, if it wasn’t for Barton’s mistakes. 5 back 2 up is not the way to get hold of ball, control closing stages for win, it’s the way to surrender ball to opponents to come at you and hurt you. You analyse how top managers see out this situation, they are not pulling bodies out midfield but adding bodies to midfield. Joey is revealing himself to be rank bad manager.
