We could get a result tomorrow evening over at the garrison town and again on Saturday against The Exiles and we will then be knocking on the door for play off contention. The results history under JB doesn't look great admittedly but things can quickly change, I think it would be daft to swap him out at this juncture. I felt that following our second half performance at Bradford maybe, and it is just maybe, a little confidence and belief was beginning to appear again in our players, onwards and upwards ! Why go back to square one. Trust me. I will be fully behind the next manager if JB gets the boot. I would laugh if it was someone worse, or Coughlan.. Who could be more odious than Barton?

Hardly surprising to get that response. It's just conjecture. He is here til at least November and if found not guilty of both and if we are mid table by Jan then he will still be here. People on here can have their opinion but we need to accept that he ain't going anywhere yet and get behind the team

Realistically that has never happened at any club ever. Blackpool came the closest to zero home supporters but it would be near on impossible for everybody to stay away as some would support the most odious people on earth as long as their team won a game. And Blackpool dropped from the Championship to League 2 during the time when more and more fans withdrew their support. A drop of two leagues. Were fans to do that here we’d be in the National League South. Blackpool fans were against the ownership of the Oystons who screwed that club, acted illegally as shown in a court action and against some fellow directors as well iirc. We’re not (well, most of us aren’t) against the owners are we? Or are we? I’m presuming those in favour of a boycott are doing it because of JB. Whilst I can understand the strong feelings against him because I feel much the same. But I don’t think the consequences of a boycott, NLS football, is a price worth paying. IMO. BRFC is the most important part of this and at the outset of JBs time as manager I guess I felt why should he stop me supporting a club I’ve supported for over 50 years. He’s a manager who’ll be gone fairly soon. BRFC will be here far longer (though perhaps not if we go into NLS) and are far more important. Not the best time to be a fan but we’re a lower league football team. S*** happens. UTG!

There won't be any boycotts at Bristol Rovers so don't panic on that score although many of our fans liked being a non league club so don't fret if that happens again. Don't think there is an anti owner feeling either although his choice of manager leaves a lot to be desired unless he was out voted by his board.

No panic here, just aware of the difference between the situations at Blackpool and here, currently. As you are. And yes, you know I enjoyed our season in non-league but have no wish to repeat it. Though I think you’re being a bit of a scamp Pop over your wording. 😉 UTG!

For the avoidance of doubt, as some people seem to be wrestling with the concept or think they're stumbling across something surprising, my objection to him is nothing at all to do with football.
I wouldn't care if we were 20 points clear at the top of div 3 rather than disappearing without trace in div 4 as a result of his input, that's secondary to my objection at any association with, and implied endorsement of, that character. Football does not transcend or validate that.
And if a hypothetical daughter of mine started walking out with a piece of work like that, she would certainly be told my opinion. I would also be concerned at her mindset that seemed to think that was a good thing, just as I'm concerned that my football club has cosied up to him. Ultimately it would be her choice, just as it's the football club's choice. I think my hypothetical ties to this hypothetical daughter would be stronger than they ever would be to a football club so I'd stand by her (without compromising in letting her know what I thought but awaiting a coming to senses), but even then I certainly wouldn't be standing there cheering him.
As it is, he's a rubbish football manager *as well*. The appointment is without merit but has considerable de-merits. I have no idea what they're trying to achieve while expecting so many of us to hold our nose. The sooner it's corrected the better. I'll then be left with the concern that the club's capable of such a major misjudgement that allowed it ever to happen.
So, to confirm: no, it's not just about 'the football'.

People on here can have their opinion but we need to accept that he ain't going anywhere yet and get behind the teamNo we jolly well don't. What our fan base could do is collectively apply the same standards to themselves that they demanded of Fleetwood and object to his appointment in an effective way. Still, not to worry, he'll be gone in due course, and some will be left knowing that they supported him and or contributed to his salary, whilst others will have a clear conscience.

I've tried to give up principles Jack as they get me into more bother than they would by ignoring them. Sadly or gladly that's not how I was made so I will stand by my principles and fight for what I believe is right and endure the grief that it often brings.

I think you have the percentages about right in that 95% of Gasheads will put up with anything and are happy so long as there is a team to watch and an away day to look forward to. This model could work with the team lodged comfortably in League 2 apart from occasional forays into League 1 and the National League. Capital wise all that would be needed would be enough to maintain the Mem at minimum safety standards and complete the training ground to whatever level of adequacy South Glos Council insist on. For the playing budget there should be enough from central funding and ticket sales to be sufficiently competitive. The only concern with the current set up is that Barton & Co will demand more is spent on wages, signing on bonuses and agents fees. So unless Wael is prepared for constant harassment on that score he may be better off appointing someone like Kevin Maher as soon as possible.

Did we demand standards of Fleetwood? I can't remember his appointment there impacting on me, there are too many undesirable folk throughout football to have time to get ruffled about what other clubs decide to do.

Go read the threads, they were less than complimentary. So by implication, the demand was, to avoid criticism, don't employ louts.

On reflection, it may well have been at a time when I wasn't active on social media etc, so probably passed me by. I do have chunks of time that are "missing" so to speak.

Coughlan was serendipitous to say the least. ....and he was'nt good enough for many on here, on this actual thread no doubt.2nd in the 3rd tier was'nt good enough for them!Oh no! Now we've a manager that given time quite likely has a chance of seeing us push on,they want shot of him too. It's the old Gashead self destruction button being pressed yet again. Pillars of the community, apparently happy to see said pillars crumble and the building collapse all around, just to get their way.
