My memories of this season under Barton. 21 defeats in the league, knocked out of the League Cup by Crawley who just avoided being relegated to the National League, knocked out of the FA Cup by Boreham Wood, conceding 6 goals at home to Lincoln City and allowing the four relegated sides to take 16 points out of 24 available against Rovers, gifting a Papa John's game to Plymouth also ! Not forgetting taking only 2 points out of the last 7 games ! Barton is a professional scouser who we don't need,a narcissist and bully! The above tells you everything, unbelievably he con's the owner into believing he's the Messiah who can deliver. What's going to change next season, more loan players like the boy from Liverpool and another £4 million trading loss ! Most managers with the backing that Barton has had this season would be shown the door with his performance over the past 10 months. Yet incredibly people still believe he is the answer. Give this squad to Coughlan and I reckon he'd get more than a tune out of it.

Steve Evans is not a popular figure. As far as I'm aware he does not have a criminal record though. And his gobsh1tery is nowhere near the stratospheric level of Barton's. #shame+embarrassment Add to that he has a pretty successful track record at most if not all the clubs he has managed. Would prefer him here to Barton

GC.Under appreciated and his departure after going fourth was so unexpected.Don't often do well at Ipswich and was looking forward to his after match interview until it became clear he was going.BG was a disaster getting rid of Big Tone and Sercs.

And his gobsh1tery is nowhere near the stratospheric level of Barton's. #shame+embarrassment He was found guilty of conspiracy to cheat and was given a twelve month sentence suspended for two years. It’s interesting that Bas’s stance seems to now be that he only likes managers who are convicted criminals. First Joe, now Ste. Don’t back down, double down. Ah. Apologies, I should have double-checked. "Steve Evans is not a popular figure. As far as I'm aware he does not have a criminal record for violence though".

Apologies. I have re-written the original comment.

How sad to see people wallowing in negativity, and obviously loving it. Easy to see why, down the years, posters have deserted this forum.

Forgive me but what is negative about revealing the truth of what's happened on the field during last season and decisions that have been taken off it !

Firstly, I see dismay and resignation, quite nobody loving it. Secondly, the forum deserters deserted Rovers due to Barton, in the main. It's not as fun for us who no longer attend.

Actually Bath, I think it's evenly distributed. You Bas and others are very positive, some are more realistic and others negative. That is usual. I would suggest you see the negative because of your positivity. The negative ones see Bas who is hyper positive. Often we see what we expect to see...

Short memories indeed. This club if it existed at all would be wallowing in the lower reaches of the national league south. The piss takers would have long deserted the ship, the chief executive, the director of football, ‘players’ that couldn’t give a s**t, footballs infested with them. Would Anthony Evans, Aaron Collins, Belly, in fact any of them actually be here?, nope. Barton is an inexperienced coach that must wonder wtf he’s doing at this level it’s mentality the incompetence of the basket weavers, stamp collectors, et al that turn up and bollocks up game after game with their bolshy attitudes to boot. We were a joke, not now, Barton has taken a rudderless, clueless shambles and is building a club that attracts good players, excites fans and one that is genuinely being supported into a building project that will see the club settled into modern surroundings that will provide the route forward and financial stability. I first watched Rovers under Bert Tann, solid as a rock, players that 60 years later are recognised as for their drive and honesty in what back then were blue and white vertical stripes, Megson then Francis and to a certain extent John Ward brought something similar, Barton in conjunction with Wael is likely bring parity with the sh*t something we haven’t seen in decades.

Strange, as one would assume they were the glory days. One post was about "where have the missing 2000 fans gone?" Interesting.
Anyway, average attendance this season is the 3rd highest we have had since 1976 (and on a par with the second highest). Clearly JB and the club are doing something right. Not that you would believe that reading the bollox on here.

It crossed my mind are there any that moaned about the GC football because it was'nt like MOTD ,but now are using it against JB. I would'nt be surprised. This thread is bollocks.

Moaning about the quality of the football. Some were staying away as a result and openly admitting it. And get this - there was also a thread about GC's daughter getting abuse on social media. How sad is/was that.
Yep - seriously.
These were the "glory days" when apparently the club could hold its head up high because JB was nowhere near us.
And all this was before apparently the club lost all its credibility (according to some) by appointing JB
I should take it all with a pinch of salt, then and now, as remember some Rovers fans cant help but try and create misery in order to revel in it. They literally can't help it.
I think most people though can see we have a great chance of going places with WAQ/TG and JB

Weather you like him or not, the best chance of Bristol Rovers getting into the championship is with Joey Barton at the helm.

GC Win Ratio as manager of EFL Clubs
Rovers - 46.2% Mansfield - 14.81% Newport - 33.33% Total - 34.45% from 119 matches
DC Win Ratio as manager of EFL Clubs Rovers - 42.3% Walsall - 32.9% Vale - 41.9% Total - 39% from 255 matches
JB Win Ratio as manager of EFL Clubs Fleetwood - 39.8% Rovers - 37.8% Total - 38.8% from 255 matches
The stats' seem to suggest there aint much between the 3 of them - I guess you could add in a range of other variables such as available budget, 2 of them presided over relegation and promotion etc, etc.
In the end its the Marmite factor that is JB, you either like it or hate it, agree or disagree with the title of this thread.
