Never played in a senior football club did you. You've absolutely no idea of the working relationship JB has with his players. To coin a phrase, you're "making it up". And you have an intimate knowledge of how Barton gets on with the players, right ? đ. What team did you play for then fella ? East Pidlington City Played in red and white

I believe that they enjoy playing for him, there are improved coaching methods in place, and they are motivated. As with any workplace, some people gel more than others, it's human nature.

There are suggestions on the other forum Eddie Jennings has departed after a busy up with Barton, if true, that'll be an interesting development.

There are suggestions on the other forum Eddie Jennings has departed after a busy up with Barton, if true, that'll be an interesting development. If this is true I wonder whether the legendary greater transparency and communication will click into gear and weâll get a statement from the club. In the past twelve months thereâs been silence over the loss of our Head of Finance and Head of Facilities so if the Head of Football Operations has also now gone then it looks as though heads are rolling down Filton Avenue just as fast as the team are rolling down the League 1 table. Theyâll soon be calling us Bastille Rovers.

In my view he's chosen this time to be particularly destructive. Naming Wael and Tom and saying that if the pitch is not fixed they may have to look for another coach. Taking a reckless gamble by publicly humiliating his most expensive signing McCormick. Taking a reckless gamble by publicly humiliating Rovers most valuable playing asset Collins. Where's the "public humiliation " on said players Swiss,? He just told us they both have to buck up. Fine. The field of play needs to be spot on on for next season, commonsense. Publicly threatening to give somebody the sack is humiliation in my book Bas. And the comment about having to find a new coach if the pitch isnât sorted out is something Iâd expect to hear from a petulant teenager not the manager of a professional football club.

It gets relaid every summer so with just a few pointless home games left that he doesn't give a toss about, does he really expect Wael to jump to attention and do as he's told?

The threat of being fired is there for all at a fc hoping to push on.There was no humiliation. Finding a new coach? WAQ will pay to get the pitch sorted. What you are describing is management by confrontation and I donât think it works. JB said last week that he had achieved his playing ambitions and now wanted to achieve his coaching ambition but how sincere is he being ? Surely his ambition wasnât to play 260 games in the Premier League and 12 minutes as a sub in a friendly game for England ? Like everyone else he must have wanted to win cups and medals and have a long and distinguished international career but he didnât make it. And one of the reasons for that is because he cannot and will not avoid confrontation which means he will never achieve his full potential. in his managerial career the same pattern has emerged. He was lavishly supported by the owner at Fleetwood with high quality permanent and loan signings which the numbers in their accounts confirm. Incidentally he has introduced us to the term â loan feeâ which will surprise many who thought higher grade players came to lower league teams just to get game time and didnât realise substantial sums changed hands. But when the team performance didnât match the level of investment there was confrontation instead of sensible discussion and negotiation. We were told by JB that he didnât speak to the Fleetwood owner for weeks before he was sacked and after what we are hearing from him at Rovers now we can imagine why that should be. Wael has supported JB by paying a large fee and allowing him to give a lucrative three year contract to Mc Cormick. If JB has now decided that he cannot get McCormick to play then IMO he has a responsibility to do what is best for Rovers. That means recouping as much of the fee as possible and getting him off the wage bill as quickly as he can. He should be â sellingâ McCormick as a very good player who didnât work out at Rovers but will do a great job somewhere else. Instead he is publicly talking down McCormick as a player with serious issues which will be difficult to resolve and in doing so reducing the chances of offloading the player. Which means that quite unnecessarily we could be facing two years more of paying his wages without him featuring in the team. It is a similar situation with Collins. JB has unnecessarily highlighted defects in the player which could reduce his value. We know how important selling Collins is to Rovers and we want to maximize the number of clubs interested to enhance the chances of getting the highest possible fee. But what JB has done is to put question marks in the minds of potential buyers which is actually working against the clubâs best interests. To say publicly that if the pitch isnât fixed Wael & Tom may have to find a new coach is being deliberately confrontational. How Wael deals with this is for him to decide but Gasheads donât have a choice about it. If matters at the club cannot be resolved through sensible private discussion and negotiation, and confrontation is being deliberately provoked, then we have to support Wael.

Wael will get the field of play sorted ,with publicly criticised players trying even harder.Don't think JB and his coaches won't be encouraging and helping the squad at the Quarters.

For Rovers sake I hope you are right Bas. But in the event that things donât go as you suggest I think itâs important we give our support to what is best for the club and not to the personalities involved. We had reports yesterday that Eddy Jennings has left and Iâve heard today that the club secretary Jack Tomlinson, who was only appointed a few months ago, also went last week. Behind the scenes at Rovers would make a good subject for a âfly on the wallâ documentary but the flies keep flying away and the walls themselves donât appear very secure.

Sounds a bit like an excuse BG. Of course he doesnât have to be everyoneâs best mate but as ever there are good ways to do things and there are ways that come over as being counter-productive. Itâs usually not about what he does but the way he does it. What JB has said recently about Belshaw, Collins smacked more of desperation than a thought out policy. UTG!

As has been said, itâs my way or the highway as far as JB is concerned. I have no major problem with that so along as the JB way leads to positive results. 1 home goal in 7 home games doesnât sound too positive to me. Pressure building in home games. UTG!
