Oh and 69% of possession is a pretty decent platform for the flair players to do their stuff. That was due in no small part to. Coutts and Finley in the middle Glad that I'm not the only one who sees this!

But was any of what he said wrong? Coutts was utter toilet on Saturday. At fault for at least 2 of the goals and hes been utter toilet for weeks and nowhere near L1 level, hes lost the engine and legs to drive him through games and isnt quick enough to see the killer pass playing the press tactics we like to employ. Gibbons is another one who is just massively disappointing lacking pace and vision. Evans and Finleys game is being nullified due to the limitation with Coutts. Barton is a good coach and tactically astute most of the time but once the players cross the white line its down to them and on Saturday only Jarell, Sincs and Collins came out with any credit whatsoever. The only thing I do question is dropping Belshaw and for that he should be critiscised because of all the problems we have, he isnt one of them IMO. That’s simply not true. Coutts was only on the field for first 3 goals. The only one he had any part in is the first where he oddly stops tracking the lad who scored. Even then it was a routine save and Belly between the sticks likely no goal. Second looks like Coburn flicks ball on. Their lad completely miss hits ball which wrong foots everyone including Connolly who perhaps should have done better. 3rd is down to Sincs losing it in a really poor place. Sinclair was as bad as anyone on the day and was also hoiked on the hour mark - deservedly but he is a good 5 yards too deep in my view so carries no end product. Set up and shape has got to be down to Barton. I don’t see the evidence fr him being s good coach and/or tactically astute. He recruits well but his meddling and overthinking result in him getting less than the sum of the parts at his disposal. When he kept it simple with minimal changes in the second half of the season we looked capable of beating anyone Not sure what match you were watching mate but Sinclair played the full 90 mins

Probably wishes he was hoiked on the hour mark as he would not have missed the penalty on 64.

Barton's Rovers lost four games in a row. Some seem unhappy with tippy-tappy play. Pass pass pass possession frustrates them. I'm concerned we lose more than they win, Concerned we concede more than we score. Third division low-mid-table Barton began. Third division low-mid-table he regained. But I rather like attractive passing play. Credit where credit's due, for that. It take guts to play pretty football in the Lower divisions of the football league.

You been to a game recently? No, the 3G Barton boycott remains intact. It seems I have misunderstood folk on here. I thought folk found it pretty but weak. Some wrote of opponents' physical strength. Others blamed Barton for playing a game Better suited to a higher tier, and calling For a more direct (less tippy tappy) style. I thought that meant it were pretty.

2021-22 Bristol Rovers finished 23/24 in the Fair Play Table. Only beaten by Barrow in nail-biting finish on the last day of the season. 2022-23 Bristol Rovers are currently 20/24 in the Fair Play Table www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/fairnesstabelle/wettbewerb/GB3/saison_id/2022Why so? Either: Barton hires dirty players, or Barton tells players to act dirty, or Barton relentlessly criticizes the competence of match officials, and they are then (quite understandably) 'biased' against Bristol Rovers, or Barton brings plenty of 'previous' from his long history of thuggish behaviour, and officials are 'biased' against Bristol Rovers, thinking that the side reflects the manager. It doesn't matter which one (or indeed all) you chose. Just another reason why... Barton is unfit to manage Bristol Rovers FC.

Having only missed a few games at the Mem, i have not witnessed any thuggery from any of the Rovers players or any 'dirty' players wearing the quarters. However i do think that J.B's reputation goes before him and that he is a marked man in the officials book.

Evaluating refereeing decisions, I think Gasheads have an entirely understandable Natural prejudice in favour of our own Players, especially if we like the player. It is reasonable to assume, that referees Are susceptible to a natural prejudice Against players managed by a notorious thug Convicted of and casual about violent crime But also notorious for being a dirty player Who republicised (in his speech to the Oxford Union) his premeditated attacks on Opposition footballers. Wrong but natural.

Thanks for the feedback - I always appreciate the comments of people who regularly attend matches. Like I used to. So, to conclude, I guess that's a subtle combination of 3 & 4 then

Wrong but natural. Rossiter's & Finley's plus most likely Gibbon's suspensions were all due to video evidence not the match day refs. Loft seems to be the first player to receive a red during a game for some time, not even sure we've had another one this season. If refs do have a bias against JB why didn't it really show in the second half of last season?

We had success before the turn of the year, we had patches when we won games on the trot, and there's no reason why we can't again before the end of the season.
I don't get the talk of relegation worries, and wondering where our next win will come from. As far as I see it we're a middle of the table side and it's only natural to have various spells during the season. And mid-table is what my expectations were after promotion last season.
But if we do go on a run again, then I hope JB doesn't come out with any more bravado, as every time he does he puts a jinx on things!
We lost the opening game, won a couple, then started saying about how C*ty were struggling, the gap was closing, and Joey going on about getting to the top tier before they would... then we sank for a while and C*ty moved up the table a bit.
Then we got things together again, found ourselves not far outside the play-offs (although, having played more games), then just before the Accrington game he's on about a promotion push ... and we all know what's happened since!
It hasn't helped fans expectations that JB has been the one talking about promotion.

I'd settle for finding a sustainable way to Win more than we lose in the third Division, retaining ourselves, without Staking our future on criminals or Celebrities. Do that enough seasons in a Row and we'd have a punt at the second.

DC must have had a net positive season in The third division. GC was all set to have At least that. It can be done. Al Qadi's Dreams of profitable coaching and Development of young players would have Been lovely, had Rovers not drifted into a Sack race and towards Barton's relegation.
