Thought you might....was that a rabbit I see in the headlights? No, not at all. Just mindful of forum rules - attack the post, not the poster. Quite right. But unless you know me, you can only attack me on the basis of what I write, which would be fair game wouldn't it? The attempted identification of kwood gas being an example of what is wrong, but calling that poster out for what they write is fair enough. Feel free

aIs the discussion not about kwoodgas? That's who I meant anyway. (Though I can see now, you may have thought I was referring to yourself or Chesh - in which case apologies for my lack of clarity ) Yes, I did understand! I wondered who kwoodgas is. Familiar but fogotten. Ageing duck. Ah right. Well I've no idea 'who' he is. In my mind he's a spotty 16 year old. It's years since he posted on here, so he might be a 26 year old now, but clearly still hasn't grown up. I'd long forgotten him so was puzzled by the 'this post is hidden' message. The only poster I've ever blocked.

Any news on the latest statistics? He won’t be around when we win games! In defence of chewie. A balanced poster who doesn’t involve himself in the petty nonsense, a true football fan who goes to various teams games,m including NL. Knowledgable and fair, that has been my experience

Not worth worrying about. On your non-attendance Chewbacca and my attendance. In a nutshell. I played local Football for 18 years, about 22 if i include U16s,U14s. One thing was clear, our football team was made up of the good, bad and ugly. All sorts of men.Football brought us together for training and football matches. I accepted this and think it a good thing. Not always easy, but we tried. That's perhaps why I accepted Joe as Rovers Manager really quite comfortably. On a quiet moment, from my East Terrace position ,I imagine I could easily hear your big gob (🙂) cheering Rovers on from the Thatchers. Maybe,I only say "maybe",it's time to comeback. At least consider it.

Fair play to you ,I try to have the same outlook. I'm not sure my post was so long,I do these gaps between sentences. Lately, actually for too long this forum has become a cesspit of spite and I know I'm not the only one fed up of it. With that in mind....you are clearly a 'football nut',you love it so I thought an explanation as to why I accepted JB as Manager and a little encouragement for you to perhaps come on back would be a nice gesture. That's it really.👍

Maybe,I only say "maybe",it's time to comeback. At least consider it. I can identify with you Bas but have a feeling you may have been one of the kind of blokes who ruined many of my Saturday afternoons by aggressively shouting "get up" or "get back" or "mark him" or simply "for F's sake" at me. Many years ago I was with some old mates in a pub when the subject of Yatton Athletic's worst ever right back came up and I laughed about it but someone said "no, we mean it, you were absolute sh*t". The reason, I think, was that for about 5% of the time I did show some real potential and people couldn't understand how I could be so bad the other 95% of the time. We had one outstanding forward who went on to play for Weymouth and once when he turned out for the reserves I managed to put through a couple of extremely good passes which he scored from and he and a chap who'd had trials for Rovers spent about three pints trying to convince me to take it more seriously and work on improving but it was no good. I shall never forget one game against Weston St Johns when I was up against a left winger of about 14 years old who was less than five feet tall and who's dad was their captain. Right from the start it was obvious they were going to protect him and I was identified as a potential target but it didn't take long for them to find out I was no Chopper Harris. He ran rings around me of course but the coup de grace came in the final minutes when play was on the opposite side so I went to sleep. When the ball finally came across I stood motionless gazing up at it until I was clattered in the back as the midget soared above me to head it home. I don't think there is any way of claiming compensation from the Weston-Super-Mare and district league for the anguish I suffered as a young man but my experiences may explain the reluctance to comment much on football matters these days !

I don't think there is any way of claiming compensation from the Weston-Super-Mare and district league for the anguish I suffered as a young man but my experiences may explain the reluctance to comment much on football matters these days ! That's interesting Swiss, hmm,I'll have to check the memory banks to what kind of bloke and player I was. I think for starters and what may be different to your experience, I played for a very small town, same fc,never moved.Born and bred country boy.Everyone at our club was known by many others in the club.A small Gloucestershire town. I hate bullying and you felt bullied by your team mates I like to think my sensitivity radar would of picked it up and I would'nt of carried on with such macho nonsense. I have almost all fond memories of it. The social life with team mates (quite often brought up on the same estate) was such a laugh! The Cheltenham or Cirencester Leagues were probably a similar standard to the Weston. Mostly things were friendly at the club. There was a cross section of men, from tax collectors (we even accepted them 🙂),builders ,farmers, etc. We trained and did our best on match day. Then had a pint. Etc.🙂 There was an espirit de Corps. The hierarchy within the club was not without it's challengers, but these things were sorted out democratically. That last sentence saw an after game moment spring to mind. One of our more volatile players got sent off.I think we conceded afterwards, but we anyway lost.In the changing room afterwards... Barry, having been sent off is already there... A punk mate of mine... "that was f**king stupid getting sent off Barry" Barry..."f**k off!And you can shove your punk rock up your fuvking ass"! These two start fighting , with others still wearing their boots trying to break it up,like new born giraffes on ice. I think I probably have many short tales of amateur football,70s and 80s.

Tbh, I don’t really care what anyone thinks about what I do or don’t do. I don’t really know why someone not going to a watch football warranted that big a a reply. Enjoy whatever you do or don’t decide to do. I don’t care. I do. I think it's a crying shame that so many Rovers supporters are not attending. Three generations of my family went to matches together. The elder needs to outlive the manager's tenure if ever to see Rovers again. The duckling has lost his football club for over a sixth of his life. But also, I care that if much more did the same, then the empty spaces at the Memorial Ground would send a much firmer message to Al Qadi that the Barton management/takeover/failure is unacceptable to gasheads and need come to a more hasty end. Hope to see or hear you at a Barton-free memorial ground again soon, Sir.

Goodness knows why, but here goes:
Do you (above) really think that there are many people a) not attending because of the manager and b) really bothered by it all?
Being at the stadium and seeing the crowd numbers and hearing the actual attendances, indicates otherwise.

The Duck Person takes a more personal view, which he is allowed to do, isn't he?

The above I don't know about.
"Takeover" etc?
