Don't think I'll bother having a bet on Rovers to go up.No goal scorer. The dilemma of getting rid of all our strike force from last season! Can we really replace Reilly or Nichols??

Why when people can't actually pay to go watch their team live is it still fair to charge overseas iFollowers £5 and home iFollowers £10? I understand the higher UK price in normal times as it discourages local people from attending, particularly on a wet and windy day or night. I think it should be the same price regardless of country until fans are allowed back into stadia. You can of course use certain services that make it seem like you're watching from Finland and pay the cheaper price but most people won't know how to set this up and may feel that they're stealing a fiver from the club. Some might invite a friend round to watch, charge them £5 saying we'll go halves mate and then pull the Finland trick and watch it for free Exactly! The logic of £10 for UK residents vs £5 for non-UK residents goes out the window when we're playing behind close doors. So they should pick a 'fair' price point for both accordingly. Sadly my wife and daughters will have negligible interest in watching "the garnerball". In terms of comparisons - the obvious one to make is with a Now TV Sky day pass at £8.99. This gives 2 to 3 premiership games with a million camera angles, replays and (allegedly) quality punditry. On balance - you'd have to say that paying £10 to watch a one-off League 1 game with 1 camera angle... represents pretty poor value. If you're a lightweight supporter and like watching the premiership, where would you be spending your money on a Saturday afternoon?I just think the EFL have got the price point wrong. Regards, 'tightwad'. I fear you are missing the point A Now TV Sky day pass is a mass-market stack-em-high-and-sell-em-cheap product, akin to a pre-pandemic Home Bargains pack of loo roll, maybe Live online Bristol Rovers coverage is more akin to bespoke suits made in a backstreet market - sold in very small quantities, and not using the best of materials, but as close as possible to how Sir or Madam likes it I guess you're a heavy weight. They need to bring Parkrun back.

Irish. The drug peddling hoody example was chosen deliberately. Firstly, it's very real across large parts of Bournemouth, no matter what someone who lives 15 miles from the place would have you believe. Secondly, that drug dealer, tempting his punter in with a few cheap deals, then when he/she is addicted being prepared to destroy his/her life for personal gain, is no different whatsoever to the gambling industry. I went onto YouTube this morning, just looking at something unrelated, before I could watch my video up pops an advert from Paddy Power, something about placing a 4 way bet and if 1 of them loses you get a 2nd bet 'for free'. Honestly, it's wholly pervasive and relentless. Yesterday I put a couple of searches into Google to find those figures that I quoted in a post, that's all it took for web spiders to target me as a potential 'mark' and now I'll have betting ads popping up everywhere for weeks. As you wisely point out, welcome to the wonderful world of the internet. I find your strong dislike of Bournemouth, and apparent annoyance with Wareham for enjoing living near there, to be bizarre as I've never had any particularly strong feelings about the place one way or the other and haven't been there for over a decade but each to their own.
The point about gambling I entirely sympathise with. A realistic plan to do something about it beyond a general 'down with this sort of thing' sentiment and very light touch regulation around advertising is hard to envisage though.
Can't expect anybody to keep up with everything said on all threads, but; Bournemouth FC cheated their way into the top flight. That potentially denied other clubs the opportunity. They were awarded £100,000,000 for getting there and fined £5m. Something about that just feels unfair to me. I wouldn't care one bit if they feel all the way back down through the divisions. I have an interest in a business in Bournemouth, it's the only outlet that I've ever had to shut to retail visitors and take 100% on-line. I have no issue with Wareham (the forum character) other than he defended the place. But he's moved back a bit from that position with his rather strange post a couple of evenings ago. Part of which included misquoting me, which is strange for someone who claims to have been a teacher, I would have thought that he would have spent that part of his career drumming in to his charges the importance of reading carefully before replying. But whatever, we disagree about the place, it seems we do have the same experience though, it's a bit of a Hell hole. Ref gambling, I have no idea what the answer to this is, that cat is now well and truly out of the bag. Of course, it's a personal choice thing, but plenty of families and individuals pay a high price for chasing the dream that gambling advertisers dangle in front of them.
