And another good article here. www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/what-coventry-city-every-league-18373472Rovers not mentioned. I did think that Bristol Live quote attributed to the Club about preferring to play out the season lacked credibility... I express joy at the latest from the satanic world of peterborough: Peterborough United - Resigned to season being curtailed Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony has been very vocal in his desire to see the campaign completed on the pitch - promising a "legal battle of epic proportions" should his side miss out on the play-offs on points per game. Yet director of football Barry Fry is resigned to the campaign being over after he and CEO Bob Symns canvassed other clubs for their opinions.Fry said: "We did get excited because the Tranmere proposal seemed very fair to a lot of clubs chasing promotion and trying to avoid relegation. It also didn’t affect those clubs who want to shut up shop. "But myself and Bob have rang round the clubs and the support isn’t there. There are 16/17 clubs who say they won’t vote for it. "There’s no incentive for the teams set to contest a four-team rather than an eight-team play-off and the teams at the bottom are not interested either. "Tranmere’s proposal includes a 25-team League One next season which means solidarity money would be reduced as it would split 25 ways instead of 24 and clubs reckon they can’t afford that. Clubs are also claiming they would have to pay £90K to help fund the rest of the season and they don’t want to do that. “It’s a big shame, but at least we had a go. Indeed the passion and commitment our chairman has shown throughout this time has been second to none. I feel for him, his co-owners, the manager and players, and the fans. This whole process has been allowed to drag on too long. "I’m not sure all the clubs have studied the detail in the proposal. They will all still act in their own interests."

I know it can not be catered for in any model, but there's nearly always a club which goes on a late run even from 10th plus and gets into the play offs. Equally there's usually a club which drops like a stone from 15th ish and ends up in the relegation group.

Curtailing the season is the least bad option...

Looks like 15 (or more) League 1 Clubs will vote to curtail the season now. Promotion likely to be 2 + 1 from the playoffs (unweighted PPG applies), bottom 3 go down. Which means peterborough miss out. 1... 2... 3... aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Looks like the 2019-2020 problem has (finally) been solved. What happens in 2020-2021? I read somewhere that the League 1 & 2 season could kick off in August/September, but behind closed doors (BCD) - streaming all games (including 3pm on a Saturday). But that is totally inconsistent with the logic that has applied to curtailing the current season due to financial concerns due to having no paying supporters through the turnstiles. Anyone know what our normal match day income is? Anyone have a clue what the potential streaming revenue would be? I'm sticking a finger in the air and saying about half (at best). If football BCD happens - BRFC revenue would fall through the floor... leading to massive budget cuts, or Wael putting in more money to keep us alive. I really don't think football BCD is really viable in League 1 & 2. Therefore I think it's quite possible we will have to wait til 2021 to start the 2020-2021 season...

Behind closed doors would, I assume, mean regular testing. What's the cost if this, doubt that would be covered by ifollow subscriptions let alone all the other costs.
As you say BCD makes no sense.
Question then is will all four divisions have to end by a specific date next year?
Maybe start in Jan, two games a week with no cups and we may catch up.

For all the fuss and time it took, and for all certain clubs ground their particular axes, I'm not really sure they ever came particularly close to playing out the season. The writing has been on the wall for some time.
Now we enter the great unknown. I still think it could be a pretty long time before we watch another Rovers games.

I wonder where pre-season training and friendlies will be - Brean sands under canvas for training or maybe an airbridge to Portugal (with no quarantine on return)?

HaHa, go on Peterborough, make yourselves even more unpopular by trying some kind of pointless legal action.

Please people - stop being so selfish. Spare a thought for Darragh MacAnthony and peterborough. And should football ever recommence, remember which Clubs did the 'right' thing, and which Clubs tried to squeeze the poorer Clubs out of existence. Perhaps allocate your 'away' trips on this basis? I will be raising a glass of Blackthorn Premium in the very near future. £3.70 for 3 litres, everyone has there own coping strategy for Covid-19. Up The Gas.

F*ck 'em. 3 moths ago I couldn't have imagined a situation where I would giggle at Lightning Cheats FC being handed a play off place, but it's happened. Sorry for Posh supporters, but the manager and people running the club don't make it easy to have much sympathy for them.

Well done Rovers more like, gifting them 3 points, running around aimlessly, bumping in to each other, falling over and somehow allowing a bloke at least 6 stone overweight to score against us at Global Flood Central. Ken Ham sighted in High Wycombe, maybe a new tourist attraction opening soon.
