I personally think we should play the season out. All at neutral venues. Or, a calender year from when the matches were suspended and forego next season. Put everything back one calendar year.
Whilst we do have a mathematical chance, it should be played out to the full.
Also, we play alot of teams that do have something to play for, so we actually can have a say who finishes where.
* The last paragraph applies to pretty much every club actually, so alot of football to be played.

I see Nigel Clough has left Burton Albion.Apparently his wages - and assistants I think - had become an increasing burden on the Brewers. His Dad would of been proud of "our number 9". Some lucky club will pick up an excellent Manager. Nigel Clough's Managerial Record:Derby County....Pld 233...W 78...D 54..L 101...WIN % = 33.5 Sheffield Utd....Pld 104...W 49...D 30..L 25.....Win % = 47.1 Burton Albion...Pld 228...W 78...D 57..L 93....Win % = 34.2 Overall Totals..Pld 565...W 205..D 141..L 219..Win % = 36.3

So 9 want to play out the season, 7 don't, and 7 are sat on the fence. I'm a bit surprised that we are allegedly voting to finish the season, when that's only going to get us into more debt. We have nothing to play for. This pushes our Club, and quite a few others closer to financial collapse. Bizarre from Wael. Maybe he just wants to watch some football?! That's a very expensive solution... then again it is Wael. I'm happy (sounds like I'm in a small minority) watching football on TV BCD. Not ideal. Best worst option for now though. BT Sport: Hertha/Union Friday 7:45 ko. That's my football for the week anyway...

Makes no difference if clubs vote to continue the season in my view. When contracts run out the players will depart regardless at most clubs. Regarding the cost of testing, they will have to pay that when football restarts anyway.
Personally i am against any regular football without spectators but that's another issue.

Cloughs time at Burton Albion is impressive. Was it 8th tier to EFL.Then later promotion to 2nd tier where they survived a season before going back down in the second.Burton Albion.

Mate that's way out of order. The atom bomb don't scratch the surface compared to BG management impact.

EFL statement
1. Resuming the 2019/20 season with the existing format remains the most appropriate course of action from a sporting integrity perspective, but the Board accepts there are circumstances that may lead to curtailment (as has been demonstrated with League Two) or a situation subsequently transpires whereby the season is unable to conclude. 2. This means that, in the event of an early curtailment: a. Final divisional placings should be determined on unweighted points per game (if required). b. Promotion and relegation should be retained. c. Play-Offs should be played in all circumstances but should not be extended (beyond four teams). 3. If a scenario arises whereby the Play-Offs cannot be played, the EFL Board will determine the appropriate course of action. 4. The Board considers that the majority required to curtail the 2019/20 season in any division should be 51%. Determining whether or not to curtail the season is a decision for each division to take. 5. The principle of relegation across all three divisions is integral to the integrity of the pyramid, from the Premier League down to the National League, provided we have assurances that the National League will start season 2020/21 (i.e. the relegated Club in League Two has somewhere to play). 6. Any regulatory solution should be relevant and specific to the current challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak and reach a conclusion that is clear and effective with the impact and justifications easy for all stakeholders to understand.

Any regulatory solution should be relevant and specific to the current challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak and reach a conclusion that is clear and effective with the impact and justifications easy for all stakeholders to understand. Surely this statement leans heavily towards a curtailment of the season for League 1. So the League 1 Clubs "sat on the fence" should vote along with what the EFL are advocating? Only 6 Clubs (or possibly 7 if you believe what Bristol Live say about Bristol Rovers FC) want to play on. Surely it won't be hard to get 12 Clubs to vote to curtail the season? I really really want Bristol Rovers to do the 'right thing' and vote for curtailment. This helps other League Clubs survive. It's a Hot Fuzz moment: "for the greater good". Yarl. The best bit surely is that "Final divisional placings should be determined on unweighted points per game (if required)". So all Peterborough's attempts to bully and coerce other Clubs and threaten litigation come to nothing - meaning they miss out on a play-off place. That's put a spring in my step.

A long article at the top of the BBC football website about the problems EFL clubs face including opinions about the league one and league two situation. Alex rodman is quoted from a "bbc 5 live" interview in the piece and as usual he talks sense.

Best worst option for now though. BT Sport: Hertha/Union Friday 7:45 ko. That's my football for the week anyway... I was only half joking to be honest. I really can't see why we're on the 'let's play football' side of this really. I can't see how we're making any money out of this. I'm struggling to see what's in it for us. Cricket training returned in very limited sense this week and I was chatting to 2 people at my club who are fans of Oxford and Rotherhan and they love us right now! But they also can't understand why we're on their side.
(Sorry for late reply - been a tricky week so not been on the forum).
