I have to be impressed by a thread that starts 'Awful thread' self-referentially. Edit: So, KM to me gets the gig if he can re-establish some sort of cohesion... Terrible shout. If he's not much cop as a supporter's club representative to the board, why on earth do you think he should be given a shot at management?

Sums up the Club that they could not communicate to the Press that the Manager could not attend because he had an urgent family matter to deal with. It's a unusual state of affairs that a Manager in his first appointment goes on extended leave after 19 days. I am not insinuating that it is not genuine, but communication makes the world go around. who is mooreo that mr garner went to see ?

Bulbous - presume he means Darren Moore, Doncaster's manager.
Vaughan - with all due respect, think your comment is well out of order. I would imagine that Ben Garner might be uncomfortable with the world knowing about his family illness and may have asked the club to keep the news in house. If it's for the reason alluded to on another thread, then maybe it's something that has suddenly happened in which case the time he has been manager is immaterial. No one plans to be ill.
And while I won't comment on previous issues of poor communication from the club, in this case, I'm not sure the club could have done anything better.

If it’s true that he went to see the powers that be after the game then that is a long time to be sat on the information before speaking. In which case they could have stemmed a lot of speculation by speaking ASAP. Of course, this delay could have been at the behest of Garner himself. Either way, despite the volatile reaction to the speculators on the other forum I don’t really see that those fans have done any wrong with the speculation in the wake of the game itself. Speculation will always exist in a vacuum. Now a bit more is known about what is going on I would expect everyone associated with the club to pass on their best wishes then leave the matter be and look forward to Tuesday.

Totally disagree.
It is strange that Manager does not turn up for post match interview after 19 days in charge and after a home defeat which resulted in boos.
A club representative could surely say:
"Ben Garner would have wished to attend the post-match conference, but unfortunately he has had to attend to an urgent family matter. We pass on our best wishes to Ben. Given his absence, Kevin Maher has decided to deputise for Ben."
With respect, how difficult is that? It would have ended any speculation on reasons why. This would have been disseminated to supporters and he would have received appropriate sympathy.
I can't remember the last time a Rovers Manager failed to attend a Press Conference after a League Game. It was bound to generate adverse comment, given the circumstances.
We all know that the Club is a shambles when it comes to communication.

Marcus regularly talked to the media rather than Darrell. Vaughan, you sound as if you don't believe what's been said and to be honest, it makes you appear unpleasant.

I see some people are spoiling for a Forum fight.
I believe this 100%, but unless you communicate clearly and in a timely manner, things will be misconstrued. That's what happened here.
Is that clear?

The post match conference is for Managers. Look up and down the Leagues.

Why not take a breath and see what happens. This is not a subject to offer an opinion on or speculate

We all know that the Club is a shambles when it comes to communication. For completeness, DC and GC often put forward one of their coaching staff to field the post-match press conference after league games. Clearly many voiced their dissatisfaction on Saturday about Maher doing the interview instead of Garner at the time, but the circumstances have been explained in much the way you suggest.
Personally, I'd suggest you give this one a pause for thought - just for the moment.

Is this a cunning plan to bring Ken Masters in as Technical Director of Football he has the coat already and is highly respected by all members of Brsc

Awful thread at such an early stage in his time at Rovers, but it's been poor, has'nt it. From top of the form league to near bottom From 4th in the table to mid-table. Do you see it improving? The Board told us "he was the outstanding candidate".Were the rest flesh eating zombies?Or is that the board? It must be tough on Ben right now,he can't be enjoying himself, for that I feel sorry for the bloke. But Rovers are the important thing here. We've gone from organised fighting challengers to a confused lost relegation candidates. In 7 games. I hope I'm wrong and things work out but I'm afraid I think the Board have slipped up badly and we ought to say 'sorry, thanks and goodbye' to Ben as soon as possible. Stay or go? Perhaps this one is now more topical.

The only green shoots are gangrenous. I really wanted him to succeed and initially thought supporters had to give him a fair crack at it (my personal view was until the end of March). On reflection - he has to go now. Next home gate could easily be below 6000. Sorry Ben, I'm sure you gave it your best shot. But good-bye.

V Shrews at home. As a footnote....KM was on the East Terrace today amongst us plebs in the wind and rain. Begrudging respect. Although I still don't think he paid to get in..

The Weasel who sought a position on the BoD without even joining the Share Scheme was indeed on the terraces, but he had his pass around his neck, so hard to know if he paid to get in.
