Thanks very much but dont worry as i have a set routine and dont drink until i get back to my local football club after the match. Will be interesting to see if anything unfolds on the takeover front in the weeks to come. You mean to tell us that you are watching this dross without the aid of acoholic stimulus, what tablets are you on After 4 years of exiting winning football at home games im prepared to put up with the current run of poor form, though after games i usually celebrate or drown my sorrows at shirehampton fc near my home.

As per another thread. "mods", "rockers", "psychobillies", "punks", "skinheads" etc should all be lower case. What about jitters? Very much a Bristolian word, if I'm not mistaken, particularly of the 70s & 80s. Although, I was sure it was spelled gitter, with a soft 'g' … if you get my gist. " Look at 'ee, that greasy-long-haired gitter in the Status Quo denim jacket."

Certainly Bristolian, as anyone from beyond these parts has no clue when the term is used. For the record I always thought it was spelt with a J.
Regards, a proud Jitter.

Hippy and Jitter meant the same thing, that Patchouli oil that they used to wear we called Jitter juice, stinking stuff it was too. Hippies and Jitters were classed as Hairy's,anyone with hair over their ears and worse still a beard was a Hairy then,I suppose they are called a Crusty now.

ADMIN: Post deleted, poor taste joke. Sorry but that is bad taste, especially to some of us that have served in that area! in fact even as admin I will go further, you are a prize one PR*ck! Don't bother trying to report the post I am out of here. Agree entirely. What I don’t get is chewie has an extremely good footballing knowledge but seems to enjoy having digs and just not being aware, at times. He/she has good insight but that post belongs on a55 chat & not here , just my opinion of course BZ @oxon. the post has not been deleted though

The Firetto family still have Don Giovannis, which is wonderful 37 years on. I once had a full 3 course meal and left without paying, when Carlo was there. It’s not a story for here but let’s just say my brother did a 5 stretch due to him. I was young and definitely too young to know fear. I now realise how it could have turned out. I wish I could say more but it’s a criminal tale so best not got into on here

Was rather embarrassed and they knew as soon as I came in. I am too honest for my own good. 😇

out of all those, I think misogynistic is the only unfortunate characteristic. And if you'd gone to Eton, you might have viewed it as better to write 'misogynist' in that context we shouldn't have classist and religionist drivel on here, should we? Well, had catholic come before misogynist I think you would be correct. I think that misogynistic to describe personality is correct, but it's not important. Why would you want to defend someone who openly attaches themselves to an institution that is responsible for hiding child rapists all over the globe and seems to believe that whilst aids may be bad, condoms are somehow worse? Utterly insane and has no place in any civilised society. That's before we even start on his views on same sex relationships. Highly intelligent, brilliant orator, but more than a little muddled and out of step with society in his thinking. I see Mark Brimson tweeted about the 82 being run by a sexual deviant and this has got a lot of their lot really quite sick. Does anyone know any more of this please ?

You'll have the usual moaners after you KP.

Barn @barnbcfc · 31 Oct Had to unfollow the @bristolcity account considering an actual sexual deviant is running it at present. I urge you all to do the same. That reads as it's the person who runs that account not the club?

What is all this utter rubbish about? I guess there is a finite amount that can be written specifically about Bristol Rovers and the trials and tribulations that the Club faces both on, and off the pitch. Sometimes threads go off at a tangent. They grow organically and can lead to (occassionally humourous) non-football related "banter". I guess if you don't want to get involved, then you don't have to get involved. If all threads had to remain specifically "on topic", they would be 1. Quite short, and 2. Quite boring. IMHO.

you have posted classist and religionist comments on here, and when this is pointed out you have not accepted that Since when were we not allowed to state demonstrable facts on this forum? How about this. If anybody wants to put forward a defence for the Catholic church I'll welcome the debate via PM, that way everybody else can get on with talking about football. When you've calmed down you'll see that you've done the exact same thing that you've criticised me for doing. I can demonstrate what I'm saying about the Catholic church, the very best you'll be able to do is demonstrate that what you've said about JRM is accurate, but I suspect it would be diluted down to being a matter of opinion, so the very best possible outcome for you is that we are as bad as each other. Have a nice day We ALL need to practice tolerance and if we disagree then back up your point with fact. It took me much longer than most to even try this but, like the Beatles sing, I’ve got to admit it’s getting better. If you want to spoil ANY gathering or forum then religion & politicking will turn all to manure. I was born RC and went to church, regularly, up until my fathers death in 09. There is no defending the church or in fact, any religion in my opinion of course. If people REALLY wish to discuss these then maybe there should be a sub division on here to do so. I lost a lot of people I thought I would have taken a bullet for, over the last Election and Brexit. I feel bloody stupid that I allowed myself to get so heated but I find those that pretend not to be politicised but then dive in with such extreme views, very difficult to be around but passive aggressives are bloody hard work, for me in any case. I personally believe we should leave it out or at least have some documented back up when * trying* to get a salient point across. Come on Ladies & Gents, we are better than this. Christ in a bike, we can be bad enough about this club of ours, let’s not divide ourselves by getting overheated & angry. In my experience, anger and vengeful thinking has only ever hurt me and in a very big way. We obviously have some very well educated & knowledgable people on here, let’s harness that for the good eh. Peace out folks. I hope you have had & are still having a great weekend. In closing i am I am very surprised no one has mentioned Anthony “ Tony” Skuses passing. Sadly I was hospitalised in the early hours of the day of his funeral. RIP Big Tone AKA Wide head as christened by pressuredrop. I’ve been thinking how messed up life is when you feel bad that you missed a funeral but the family told me there were over a thousand people who attended and it gave them great comfort. See, we argue and waste time in doing so when there are much harsher things happening it certainly gives some perspective into all this nonsense.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh. Does it really matter to you then ? I find it a shame that we can all become childish as adults. Sometimes it’s a good thing to keep the child within, well & happy but sometimes there is a time to say nothing. Just my opinion of course. I hope you have had a good weekend. Rovers win and 82 lose..... again. Now that’s my kind of happy, just wish it happened more often Anyway, play offs, anyone ? 😂✔️

I know a few places in Scotland and Ireland that you might get hung up for your bigoted comments Always confused about why people's faith should be immune from honest and fair criticism. Point me towards something said that isn't true and I'll retract it and apologise. If at all interested in my opinion, I feel no need to take anything from people that gives them comfort. I was watching room 101 just a couple of days ago, in hospital and I think it was Russel Howard who brought up the topic of celebrity atheists & although not keen on him, he made a very good argument on how it’s the in thing to be atheist now & many will follow those such as Ricky Gervais, just because he seems to not be able to contain him selves. Its been my experience that when I’ve been to the favelas in Brasil or in then communist Poland, all they cling to is god. Whether you believe or not, would you take that small crumb of hope from them ? Serious question. If you like reading history, as I do, then it can be argued that the voting to have a Polish pope plus a very determined resistance in Poland, actually ended communism in the Eastern bloc countries. Ok, so I’m not down with da youf & I try not to take anything away from someone who gets some respite & comfort from their beliefs. I reaaly believe that there comes a time where we really do need to put ourselves in the others position and then see if you would do & act in the same manner. Thats it, I’m done with this now but I sincerely hope we can ramp it down on this, live & let live I say. As my dearly departed Brother, Henry used to say, in a scouse accent, far out & solid man, far out and solid 😂😢😢. I miss my family so much.

I really believed the ITKs that we'd hear news before the end of October... Right I'm off now to buy some magic beans As I have come to understand the ongoing situation then one offer has been tabled and not a small offer if true, though the owners want more. I know most will say name your sauce but if you told me something and said not to tell anyone, how would you feel if I betrayed your trust. I have no reason to disbelieve the information given but it is up to each whether to believe it or not. It would seem the owners feel they want a very large profit from the sale, which includes the rotting colony & all vittles and chatels Personally I believe it
