seems to have the crowd size of a local park game. 'Only reporters in this stand' says KB, maybe 6 of us in total, ' Atmosphere is a bit eerie'Well it is Halloween.

I’ve got skittles tonight. Would sack it off for a League game but won’t for this monstrosity of a tournament. Every one has a choice - if you want to hasten the demise of lower league football by supporting the inclusion of ‘B’ teams through the back door then go. I’m happy for you and your blind ignorance. If you believe in the integrity and meritocracy of football as a sport then give it a miss. I choose the latter. Father. If like me you follow the progress of the England U20 and 17s World Cup winners you will know those talented kids need experience in mens football if they are to progress. Foden of Man City is such who would help playing in league one or Checkatrade trophy.
Did you know Rovers have already played against TWO WORLD CUP WINNERS this season....Dean Henderson Man U (On loan at Shrewsbury) U20 winner and Steven Sessegnon Fulham Under 17 winner. While Morgan Gibbs-White Wolves was an un used sub for Wolves Under 17 winner.
Not convinced pal that Checkatrade Trophy would hasten the demise of league one /two clubs. Try and convince me with a constructive argument please. Always willing to change my mind but doubt you will if you just say what you have said thus far.
Enjoy your skittles.
Well the Norwegian that has just scored for West Ham will certainly help the England team

No surprise, the manager sounds less than enthusiastic when speaking about this competition, let's just get through it without any injuries or suspensions and then on to games that matter.

Russe been industrious on his debut, acquitted himself well in the middle of the park, is more suited to a more defensive role - all per KB
'good experience for him, and for Cameron Hargreaves who has looked good since he came on'
'Rovers have lacked height up front - even though Nicholls scored with a header'

Dc rightly picked an inexperienced team tonight and luke russe, ryan broom, cam hargreaves and german boy dunwald all gained valuble experience against capable opposition. Hargreaves caught the eye with a lively 20 mins as sub and dunwald looked decent. Poor performanes from sweeney, bola, sinclair and moore didnt exactly help the young lads although dan leadbitter played well after a dodgy opening 15 mins. West ham were very slick and closed us down quickly and we struggled to cope. We couldnt give the 2 small forwards the service they required and this improved late on when big german lad dunwald came on for nichols who was partnering telford.

Shame on you all for attending tonight.
Amongst some positiveness, you've helped develop and improve a Spaniard and Norwegian youngsters whom scored against us tonight. Well done for that!
Brilliant for English youth football (cos Nichols scored early on)?
Disgraceful, divisive tournament and sooner we're not participating in it, the better.

Big positive is that 4 players from our development squad got experience against some very good players. Your totally entitled to your opinion on a competition that EFL clubs voted to keep despite the supporters but your right out of order trying to bully or shame those that dont agree with you. Nobody died tonight its just a poxy football match, maybe get a life?

West Ham's starting line up included the following non-home nations players:
Coventry - Republic of Ireland Quina - Portugal Haskabanovic - Montenegro Samuelsen - Norway Martinez - Spain
I'm pleased our development players got a run out and would be happy for the whole tournament to be officially downgraded to development/reserves/u21/u23. I just hope we don't get another fine for making 8 changes from Saturday's starting line up.

I look upon it as kind of Football Combination but with a Wembley final at the end of it. Let's face it, the original tournament was crap anyway and only attracted decent crowds for local derbies and the final itself. Gives the youngsters a chance to pit themselves against PL youngsters. Can't be all bad. Give the youngsters a chance to pit themselves against PL youngsters you say but if they really do any good then they'll be added to the PL stockpile in no time. Can't all be bad? It can and it is.

Are we having a penalty shoot out against a Germany then? If we just go with: Waddle Pearce Young Beckham and then Beckham again just for a laugh, Germany wouldn't even need a keeper. And if we want back up, there's always: Batty Ince Southgate Lampard Gerrard Carragher or Cole. I wonder whether Southgate takes the team for penalty practice?
