How many minutes of each half did you catch Mike? None actually. However I was busy. I did four 20minute quarters reffing the up and coming talent that is the Junior Premier League Trials at Bristol City Academy in the blazing sunshine. Plenty of scouts from Manchester City, Liverpool, Southampton, Bournemouth, West Brom and Stoke City there watching the cream of the North and South of the Country. I hope some of them eventually realise that starting with your local league Club will result in progressing further rather than signing for a Prem Club. |

Just listened to DC's comments after today's game and was shocked that we have Aussie contacts! We really have come a long way if we are happy to bring trialists from down under.

4 mins 1 - 0 Rovers Ebbutt scores within 4 minutes
Bodin sprayed the ball wide to Brown who dinks a lovely cross into the unmarked Ebbutt. Easy header into the top corner, very casual from Rovers. Easy as you like, 1-0.
7 mins Rovers playing some lovely stuff here and harassing Salisbury whenever they’re in possession.
Bright start from both trialists too.
Salisbury finally get hold of the ball. A lovely ball in from the right by Lewis 10 10mins Benson splits the Rovers centre-backs and leaves Smith rooted to his line. Danny Young nips in for the home side but his effort goes wide of Smith’s left post.
15 mins A quick one two between Clarke and Brown sees a ball come into the box. But Hall can only head the ball high and wide. Some nice movement from Rovers there though

Poor performance overall. It was just a friendly and it was not the full squad but nothing much to write home about. We created little and were put under pressure in the last ten minutes when I would have expected us to score a couple due to our fitness levels being superior (at least in theory). Underwhelmed by that performance to say the least. At least I didn't have to travel far to get there, only ten miles down the road. 😁
