Wouldn't it be interesting if EVERY development squad team was knocked out in prelim round, and then miraculously attendances went up fivefold?!

I seem to remember Dobson's last game in charge was against Ipswich in the Zenith Data, and we got just over 1000. In fairness certain players had let it be known that they would be getting Dobson the sack that night. I was having a beer with Jock in the FOB bar after the game, and he was being pretty vocal about Dobson and his view that Rofe should be given the job.

Rex....o yes ....Ipswich Town ZDS tie at Twerton in 1991 to some like Chewy and others another meaningless cup game actually attracted 1,490 including moi ! We lost 3-1 Tony Pounder scored a consolation. Although I can't speak for Chewy and others, I would imagine a fair few of them wouldn't have classed it as a meaningless competition. Definitely a minor competition, and obviously many chose to give it a miss on the night, but for entirely different reasons than those not attending tomorrow. I was at the Ipswich game, it was around the time that I attended every Rovers match ,home and away (including friendlies) however, even if I was still attending ever match, I would still choose not to go tomorrow.

Ultimately anyone attending tomorrow is voting for the introduction of B teams in the lower leagues and betraying over a century of the Football League. Totally agree false. I just don't understand why some can't see this.I am going to hate missing my first home game for years but surely it's obvious. 1. If you want Rovers to progress DON'T go. 2. If you want to tell the idiots that run the football league that you think B teams in the league in the near future is a good idea then go watch it. Your choice. Mostly one, actually, and he can see it, but tries to justify his selfishness in disregarding the future of all lower league clubs by accusing others of being poor supporters. Mind you, he's willing to bet people a cornish pasty and a Bovril that he won't be the only one at the match; a tribute to his self belief and steadfastness. Pathetic!

Everyone who has expressed an opinion (including fans from other clubs and now including the usually contemptible and badly informed 82er) thinks this cup is w**k. Apart from Harry Mike Buckle-Jay. Estimate the crowd - for once an interesting debate... I'll go for 666.

Seems even BRSC have fallen off the fence on this one. Still Mike will still be expecting 16000 when we play Portsmouth

Concur, especially your last sentence but I would just like to extend your first sentence a bit by adding...."at any stage of the competition'. My reasoning is that, as you know, the initial stages of this competition are usually woefully attended in the early rounds anyway, so small numbers then may not be seen as anything untoward. Yes good point. When we won it two years ago. I didn't go to any of the games - despite having a healthy home and away attendance record to our season. Not because of some honourable view of not introducing B teams etc but because the cup is a lot of toss in my eyes. A day at Wembley yeah but for what? Get me a day at Wembley for a play off final or FA Cup semi and I'll be first in line. But for that JPT bollocks? I took enough s**te from guys in the office (Leeds, Spurs, Watford etc) for being in that cup. So no I didn't go and didn't go to Wembley. I did however go to Peterboro away in the league on the Tues night tho.... The cup was already Mickey Mouse. But at least wasn't full out insulting to its competitors in L1 and L2. Now it is. They want to develop football? How about allowing the conference sides into it? Not U23s from "bigger clubs" to have a kick about. Oh and what summed up it wasn't for me? The fella next door to my parents went to Wembley. I think the last time he saw us play live, Gerry Gow was in midfield.... Stay away from this bollocks and turn out for the league and FA Cup.

Will the supporter's club be producing a match programme if they don't agree with it?

Unfortunately Bradford and Sheffield United aren't superfan away days and attending will not be worth my time.
